My request was not intended to be considered "rude". I was asking for something from the moderators and admins here. It may get accepted, and it may not. In either case, it is worth asking no matter what. I do like your idea very much, Avalon. It would be very nice if I could get the members on my forums to post here in order to pool together and contribute the acumulated credits into one. I believe that is what you meant. Thank you for your suggestion. If I could get my members register and post here, could this be done? [Moderators or Admins only please] -
Norton Or Mcaffee Which do you like better?
LeAnn Rimes My Angel replied to gamingnews's topic in Software
I have hears that Mcaffee is better for finding viruses. Norton just doesn't do as good of a job at it. Personally, I don't use either, so I can't say for sure if this is true or not. I suppose you will have to find out on your own which one you prefer more. But keep in mind that it is NOT a good idea to use both of them at the same time. They are incompatible if both are installed on one OS at the same time. Good luck! -
If you can change your IP address using a proxy, then you are covering your trail. It is not hacking, it is something anyone can do easily if you are using Firefox. If the proxy IP you are using gets banned, all you have to do is change it again. There is really no way to completely stop someone from going to something they are banned from, but I suppose that depends on what level of access users vs. gusts are granted. I know that for phpBB, you must have a valid IP address to be able to sign into forums. If the permissions are set so that only registered members can post, but guests cannot, then you must register on the phpBB forum and use your real IP in order for it to work. So, like I said, it all depends on where you go.

Building A Computer I did it, decent price as well
LeAnn Rimes My Angel replied to BeyondEarth's topic in Software
That's a great price. Although, I would suggest going for a P4 and not a Celeron. Celeron CPUs are really low performany, and they generally have about 128 KB of cache. Cache is really important for retrieving information, like a librarian, it can refer to recently used data from the hard drive more faster and efficiently the more you have. 512 KB to 1 MB seems to be a good amount for a CPU. Anything more than that, and there just is not a great deal of performancy increase, and cache is very, very expensive. -
I'm not sure if I am allowed to post this, but here it is...I have hosted a Jedi Knight 2 server for anyone who plays this game. It's bee busy on and off. There are almost no rules, and it's running off of the latest DC Mod 1.2 Public version (it's some big number). If anyone here plays this game online, feel free to stop by and kick some butt! To some this may seem a bit late. Firefox has released a new version that covers several critical issues, and adds more stability. It is a wonderful alternative to Internet Exploer, and offers (in my opinion) more security because it blocks most spyware. I've heard stories like that before where people live close to other online people, and they just happen to find out they live really close to each other. To some people this may seem rare, but it happens more often than some may suspect =)

Nice comment there, Stone Cold. lolI enjoy wrestling very much. They always think of new ideas on how they could make the show entertaining, and al though a lot of it is repetitous like a soap-opera, it is still very fun to watch. My favorite wrestler was The Rock, but he moved on to movie making. Now his career is very sucessful, and he's doing what he enjoys. Stone Cold is a really cool guy. I like it when he drinks his beers after beating someone up. That always makes me laugh. And then there is the famous Undertaker who is just freaky to me. All the wresters are unique, and all have their own personal "feel" to them, shall I say. Some may not like it because it promotes violence, but violence will always be around.

What Is Your Favourite Song And Why?
LeAnn Rimes My Angel replied to Nani Cheri's topic in General Discussion
My favorite song I would say is "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", by Elton John. It was written back in 1993 I believe for the movie, Lion King, which in my opinion was one of Walt Disney's best cartoon movie ever. I chose this song because it reminds me of someone I had a crush on. She is everything a man would every want. -
Posts Higher Value

I already know and understand the conditions completely. Thank you anyhow for pointing that out to me. Yes, I know it's about making longer posts and not about the number of posts. That should have been specified by myself, but I forgot to point that out. I am happy at what I am getting, obviously, but I am not afrade to suggest that everyone gets more credits for the length (and / or quality) of their posts. Please don't tell me to love anything, I don't appreciate that at all. I do however appreciate the services here, and I contribute my time and effort into it in order to have and maintain my own site. It's not about personal love to me, but it may be to others. I'm not trying to be rude here, only realistic about the situation. I appreciate your feedback and the time you took to get the link for me. I did read it.So if the posting credits could be considered to be increased for everyone as I suggested, that would be really nice. I don't have a lot of time to contribue as my credit days suggest, and I'm sure a lot of others here are busy as well. Considering the time it takes to make posts, to many here, it would be more financially and time-worthy to simply pay for a site as opposed to having a free one where you donate your time into posts. In all honesty, this is a superb idea, and I love how the system works. Thanks for the consideration. -
There is no such thing of a P3 at 334 MHz. There is a P3 at 450 MHz however. Are you refering to a P2 at 333 MHz maybe?

Paypal Horror Stories PAYPAL SUCKS
LeAnn Rimes My Angel replied to Saint_Michael's topic in General Discussion
Oh my god. I just tried using PayPal for the first time last night. LOL What a funny coinsidence. Right now I'm in the process of purchasing a server for rent, but it wouldn't accept my number. I'll try again later, regardless of this story. -
I enjoy posting in my forums very much. They are being hosted by Xisto. I also like to keep in touch with online friends, and a few real life friends as well. When I was younger, I used to collect and trade fossils I found at a museum not too far from myhouse from the age 12 to 18. After that, I just stopped because the trader there moved on. I also went through a phase where I collected stamps and coins. I still collect proof sets ever since 1991 when I got my first one. Coins are very nice, but they've beeng getting so darned expensive. :S One of my other hobbies is occasionally playing Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast on PC. It's very entertaining and challenging to fight people on the Internet. The range of skills is so broad. You have your newbies, to professionals. There aren't a whole lof of people better than me on the Internet, but they do exist.

Addictions To Candy Is it just me?
LeAnn Rimes My Angel replied to AmandaB78's topic in General Discussion
Sugar is addictive. To some people, they consider it to be a drug as well. Many believe that sugar makes people hyper, but tests have shown that it actually makes you more relaxed. There is no daily recommended intake of sugar at all. If you went your entire life without sugar, you would be fine. Sugar has also shown to make people age faster, and increases your chance of getting cancer. Hopefuly these points will discourage you wanting to have sugar all the time. What I would suggest is seeing your family doctor for some professional advice. That would be the best thing to do.If you don't want to see your doctor, I would suggest to have natural sugars found in fruits such as apples, oranges and grapes instead. If you're going to have pop, try a low calorie one with aspertane (fake sugar) or a reduced sugar drink. Avoid cool-aid, and try for some 100% pure orange juice instead.Sugar is addictive and bad for you! I hope you can get over your craving gradually. Good luck! -
I think that when people post, it should give them more credit days than it currently does. It takes a long time to make replies and new posts to some people like myself who don't type very fast, and to constantly be active to make sure that there are enough days remaining is a lot of time and work, considering people could get a paid site for around $3 or $4 a month. The cost is very cheap, and not all of the features that this site offers is necessarily used by everyone. I could pay for a site, and have everything I need for a very low cost, and not worry about how many posting days I have left.I'm not complaining, only suggesting. You may say... why don't you leave and pay for a site? Well, it's because my members are very familiar with the current URL, and it would be a huge amount of work to move everything to a paid site and convert it at this point. I do appreciate all the word and things that you do, but extra days for people's posts would be very nice, if it would be considered.Ok, thanks for reading this post. I hope it is taken into consideration. Have a great day everyone.

Mobile phones are quickly becoming the most popular technologies out there on the market. The demand is growing, and almost everyone has one. Personally I don't own a mobile phone simply because I don't trust them. They're small, fragile, and very high-tech. And I don't like the fact that signals from satellites are shooting down into your little phone which is constantly beside your brain. The long term exposure effects are still unknown. The digital signals that they send out are not nearly as bad as the analog signals they used to be, thankfully. Analog signals cause brain cancer. The person who invented the cell phone sued his own company because his mobile phone gave him brain cancer. Imagine that! lol He died shorty lafter. That was back in the day when all they had was analog phones. Digital is not "as bad", but it certainly is not good either. Nope, I'm not inerested in getting a mobile phone, and I'll never use one unless I absolutely have to.

I heard that Microsoft is copying the same features to that of Firefox. Additional tabs in the same window will be used, along with more customised features to make it easier to manage. Personally, if they can simply add as much added security and abilities as Firefox, I will only ever consider using it for FPT and Control Panel work only. Other than that, I'm sticking with Firefox because they're free, and they rely on people's donations to be productive. In order to get donations, they have to make the best product available to the public. Firefox has simply been fantastic for me, and I would never look or consider changing to Internet Explorer again. Besides, Microsoft products tend to be bulky and buggy. Mozilla makes Linux too as well I believe, which happens to be one of the most secure and stable true (free) Operating Systems out there.I may try Internet Explorer 7 when the final version comes out. I only hope they make it compatible with Windows 2000, but I heard somewhere that they won't (as usual).

Ok sxyloverboy, well now that I've had a bit more time with it, I see that there is audio, animated backgrounds, more animation, and the "Nudge" feature has a better time limit when someone is set to busy. Some of the cons would be, the main login takes a long time to log in. It still crashes on occasion. Some of the things I write do not always make it to the recipient, and file attachments still do not always work (I really wish they would fix that by now). I'm not trying out Trillian 3.1. It is like AIM, ICQ, IRC, MSN, and Yahoo combined into one program. You can choose to log in to one, or all of them at once. It's pretty nice to use. You need to select the "Trillian Basic" when you installed though, because the Pro costs money. For anyone interested in trying Trillian, I've uploaded it to my File Front web space located here: http://www.gamefront.com/downloads Let me know what you think!

I'm sure many of you out there have used phpBB at some point. To those who enjoy running forums and online communities, specifically supporting phpBB, I am about to tell everyone how to restore the forums database from one website, to another. This is presuming you do not have any mods or hacks installed. Some of you may find this information useful. Here is the scenario: Let's say you have forums running phpBB version 2.0.17 (currently the latest one). You have decided that you want to move your forums to a whole new URL and provider, and as an added bonus, change the title of your forums. This may scare some people, but it's really not that hard IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. We'll say that your website is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. This is known as your "Domain Name". And your forums file is called /phpBB2/. This is known as your "Script Path". Therefore, your entire link would look like so... http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/phpBB2/ or ... http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/phpBB2/index.php (it will be directed to the same link no matter what) Now, you have to move your forums to your site. Let's say the new Domain Name is called http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. We will also be changing your Script Path too, so now let's call it /forums/. Here is what your forums should look like on your new site... http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or ... http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/forums/index.php (once again, it will be directed to the same location no matter what) You will need the following: Templates - You may have additional templates for your forums. Be sure to save copies of these. They are located in your /templates/ directory file, within your Script Path. phpBB x.x.x - The current version of your phpBB forums. Do not get an older or newer version than the one that your forums are currently running off of. If you do, your forums will NOT run. Smilies - Save them as well, if you have any. Procedure: - Go to your ACP (Admin Control Panel) --> General Admin --> Configuration --> Default Style --> SubSilver - Click Submit - General Admin --> Backup Database --> Full backup (YES) and Gzip compress file (NO) --> Start Backup - Save the file to your desktop - [ Note: if your forums are over 2MB, it may be best to also make a 'Structure-Only backup' and 'Data only backup' as well. A useful tool that could also help you restore a large database is BugDump. It breaks up your backup so you can restore it in smaller chunks. You can download the file here: http://www.ozerov.de/bigdump/ ] - On your new site, you will need use your Control Panel to make a MySQL database, a user for that database (take not of the password you grant that user), and grant that user ALL permissions access to that database - Now you need to download your phpBB version. I suggest you try getting it from this link: http://www.phpbbhacks.com/phpbbinfo.php . If you do not see it there, try getting it from https://www.phpbb.com/ instead. - Once it is downloaded, you need to extract the entire file to your Desktop. You will need winzip (http://www.winzip.de/) or winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm) to do it, depending on the file you are downloaded - After it is extracted, you will be renaming it (as we said above) to the new Script Path called /forums/ in this case. - Using your FTP, upload your file to the root directory of your site at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - You will need to use Internet Exploer to change the permissions of the 'config.php' file to 777 - Now go to this link: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/install/install.php - You will go through the installation procedure. Be sure to fill out all the information properly, and at the bottom click 'Install' - Now you will need to delete two files, the 'install' and the 'contrib' files - Change the permissions of the 'config.php' back to 311 (the same as the other files) - You will now have full access to your forums, but now you need to restore the database - Go to your ACP (Admin Control Panel) --> General Admin --> Restore Database --> locate your file, then click 'Start Restore' IMPORTANT NOTE: NO NOT LEAVE YOUR ADMIN CONTROL PANEL YET! - Got to your General Admin --> Configuration --> and set the Domain Name and Script Path. The Domain Name will be: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ The Script Path will be: /forums/ Next you click Submit Restore your smilies, and templates back to their proper directory, as it were in your other site. You can now re-apply your templates and smilies to be used once again. Your phpBB forums should now be restored. That wasn't so bad, was it? P.S. Don't forget to tell your members where you are! Notice from snlildude87: Good tutorial but remember NOT to be so hasty in submitting your tutorial that you press the Submit button multiple times. That creates dupicate posts, and I have to reduce your credits. Since you don't have that much credit anyways, I only reduced credits from 1 of your 3 posts.

I use Firefox almost all the time, except when working with my Control Panel and FTP (I'm forced to use Internet Explorer since it accepts two seperate lines, one for the loging and the other for the password). At phpBB.com, people post about bug reports and security issues all the time. Everyone can find it here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ very skeptical when it comes to changing code, or even adding mods to forums since it can quite often compromise some level of security. Is there any way of knowing that this code is safe? I know it's short and very brief, but still... I'm just cautious.

I don't use alcohol because I don't need it. I used to drink it when going out with friends, but I stopped. It was never a problem for me, and it never will be. It's far too expensive to drink, and the government makes a lot of tax money off of it.
