NEVER TRUST SEAGATE HDD Failure rate on seagate is very high .. still people buy it because they give you a good warranty cover. Maxtor WAS the best hard-drive manufacturer.. Sad Seagate bought it .. Can someone suggest a better Hard-drive manufacturer coz I was hoping to buy a RELIABLE HDD for backing up my data .. preferably a 1 or 1.5 TB drive.. Price is not an issue

rvalkass is right.. You need to either Go for lots of fans or Get some professional guy to fix up a water cooling system on your machine. I don't think your grandson will be able to assemble a Cooling system on his own .. How old is he ? :)oh and btw.. I think the machine is going to be a beast once it turns up.. technically speaking even a single gtx 295 is enough for most advanced games and you are putting up three ... I can already imagine the power consumption .. Must be above 1600 wattsBest of luck and do post a screenshot when its done

Can't Mount Partition? Please help this is urgent
bluedragon replied to Baniboy's topic in Hardware Workshop
I don't know how correct I am while suggesting this .. and I don't have much experience with Linux. But as far as I know , I think , If there is an error in Linux and it tells its a hardware fault . Then, probably it is a hardware fault. Windows can be wrong many a times. I don't know if this will work or not.. Other members who are better in Linux kindly correct me If I am wrong.. But I think fixing your MBR will solve the problem.Try Fdisk /mbr But I am not sure if you should do this or not since you are running a dual boot system. -
Try Deleting the Minidump file and then restart the computer. Those minidump files create a serious issue on some computers.. It was happening to me also. Secondly, You didn't mention your graphics card make or model. Still, I guess its because of some conflict issue otherwise Vista is quite stable. I'll suggest you uninstall the drivers and re-install the drivers from Manufacturer's website. (XFX, MSI, etc) My MSI card used to have a similar problem whenever I used to connect a TV, It showed BOD. Anyways, Updating the drivers might solve your problem.

Don't worry be happy http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/ Something Similar happened to me once when I was working on a project on one of a public library computer few months ago .. Some F***ing MORON put up his own password to protect his personal collection of P**n on the system.. I wish I could find the guy but then there were so many users and you can't ask everyone .. Anyways... This worked for me so I am hoping it'll work for you as well

Thanks for the fast replies @ Tramposch : This error pops up only during the startup of windows.. And yes I have most of the VC++ and other components up to date. I am saying this bcoz I have some progs that do require this and they are working fine.@ Saint_Michael : I'll try updating USB drivers. My Mobo is Asus P5Q and the USB architecture requires its own drivers (Don't know why but It installed it when I inserted the Motherboards CD) anyways.. I'll try updating that .. and I don't think Any software installed is causing that problem. Initially , I suspected Winamp causing this issue since after that only this error started popping .. But I guess I was wrong, Since I've noticed it pops up even when the Winamp is not even running. Can Nero cause this ?.. I'll try my brain at this .. Hope I find the solution.. Its just irritating and nothing more coz everything is working fine It pops up two three times .. I just press Cancel or Continue or Retry and it goes away ..

Since you are building a system with a Liquid cooling system, First you have to figure out what all components will be liquid cooled. It varies from system to system. Basically you'll be having a number of inlets and outlets and instead of a Normal FAN assembly on the CPU Chip, you'll have to put up a water block on CPU. This enables cooling on the CPU. Similarly if you have any attachment/block for the north-bridge controller you have to put up that also. Make sure all the inlets and outlets are properly secured and tightened. The Inlets come from a main cooler unit which contains the liquid and the out let goes into a unit that collects these. Basically, the coolant will be running between different parts of the system cooling them and then put in an collector unit. I can't give you the exact idea for connecting the components and how it works since its almost impossible to explain without an image. Anyways.. If you need more help try googling for reviews of your cooling unit. Keep a track of coolant in your cooling unit, It is suggested to keep filling it every 4-5 months. :)Hope this helps..

Hi. I recently switched from Win XP pro 32 bit to 64 bit. Did a Clean install. It was working fine for a few days but then it started showing this weird error. I thought It must have been an error due to installation of some third party program but that wasn't the case coz I uninstalled most of the third party progs. I've attached a jpeg of the error. Hope that helps. Please suggest what Should I do P.S. Even scanned with HijackThis and scan is normal without any doubtful entries .

I am not able to understand ur question properly .. R u trying to install GeForce 8400 GS on your system and u think its not installed properly ?first of all, Vista Home Premium is SUPPOSED to have AERO but u say there is no AERO. Guess its not a proper version of Windows Vista .. Are u Sure its a full and PROPER version of Windows Vista Home premium and you didn't download it ? :excl:You should consider changing the DVD , It might be corrupt or something. (No offence but Vista has always been crappy.)Secondly , different manufacturer's have different drivers for their Graphics card. Like I used to have this MSI 7600 GT and once I tried installing drivers from Nvidia . Everything worked fine but Some of the functionality of my Card was missing. It didn't show up the Card's name etc. in the hardware configuration. So , I think you should check the manufacturer's website for the drivers and not the Nvidia's site. Generally, from what I've seen, XFX cards accept Nvidia's drivers but ASUS and MSI release their own version for their cards.:(Kindly give us your Config also, in the next reply. That'll help us understand the problem properly ..btw. .. Ubuntu is anyday better than Windows Vista, I wonder why you removed it . I would love to have one of the Linux on my system but I don't have any space to install it and then my Games don't work on Linux .. ..

What's The Difference Betwen Nvidia Geforce 6200 And 5200?
bluedragon replied to TiGrE's topic in Hardware Workshop
hmm.. How can u use a graphic card and disable hardware acceleration ?I think there's something wrong with your graphics card. .. Though this card is pretty old but I don't think its possible to disable hardware acceleration.Anyways.. 6200 will not run any of the new games since they are designed for a faster GPU and your card is pretty old. Also , The new games need PhysX and things like SM 3.0 or 4.0 to work up properly So even if they run you won't be able to see the textures properly.I don't even know if your card even supports Direct X 9 ?Anyways If you want to run newer games, I'll suggest you buy a new graphics card. check out Radeon 4850 and 4870:(Hope this helps. -
It didn't work out well .. All we could come up with was an EMAIL and an SMS indicating the arrival of that EMAIL :(Anyways.. Thanks for all the help MODS please close this thread

I don't know how much you guys know about Sim cloning but there is something called as a SIM's IMSI and there's another thing known as the KI. They CANNOT be captured off the air by just knowing your mobile number. To clone a SIM someone must physically copy the KI and IMSI from the SIM.So if you think that your number has been cloned, It must be someone with a Physical access to the SIM.Secondly , If you think that your SIM has been cloned, It can be easily checked because TWO sims with SAME IMSI would be registering on different locations . Mobile operators can easily check this. I hope this information helps you

Although you've solved the problem :angel:and thats really good since u solved it on your own :(but still, why was it behaving like that ?Suggestion : Try checking your bios and look for an option called 'Network boot' disable and then boot it up while network cable plugged in .. See if it helps

I did a bit of research on creating a hot spot from a PDA .. Seems like its restricted from Windows. I tried it on 2-3 different PDAs and couldn't find a single one that could create the Hot-Spot. Seems like Windows doesn't allow this.. I havene't tried Palm or any other PDA . The ones I tried were all HTC.coming back to the original question .. Can someone tell me . .. How to make a wifi internet hotspot using my Laptop and an ADSL Lan connection ? Thanks all
-
I had a similar issue once when I tried upgrading from AMD to INTEL .. Someone told me it has something to do with the hardware profile. Since your new config won't be recognized by the old hardware profile , as soon as the windows realizes this it thinks there has been a corruption in the file and reboots There are two ways out of this 1. Change the hardware profile [i DONT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS] 2. Format your system and re-install windows :XD: .. This will work 100%

Possible To Detect Ps/2 Mouse And Keyboard?
bluedragon replied to shadowx's topic in Hardware Workshop
If you want to code and make up your own application , I'll suggest u use a language that can work up on hardware level for you. I generally code in C and I know that C can interact with hardwares...and this is completely possible in C -- As far as I understand you want to detect the removal of a mouse or keyboard and if there is an error just signal the server. This can be done in C but I dont think you would want that. There will be two part to the whole Application. A server that will be listening for errors and a Client loaded on all the machinesServer visible to the operators is not a problem but if the Client is detected by the user, he might just close the application and you cant do anything about it.So you are stuck with the language. If you can , Then try and find a way to make VB interact with BIOS. I dont know if that can be done. I worked with VB 6 once when I was at school. Don't remember it much now. I am not sure but there are methods in VC++ for hardware level interaction. Try and find a pro for this. Good Luck.P.S. Its a great idea :XD: May be when I am free with my exams I'll try and write up the code in C -
Thanks for the replies :lol:My card does allow me to create hotspots but How Do I share my internet connection ?The two connections would be different (I am using Windows XP Pro) so I believe I'll have to make one connection understand that the second connection is the one actually routing all the information to internet ?

I was wondering if it's possible to use a laptop/or computer as a wifi hotspot if the laptop or computer connected to the internet by a LAN (ADSL)I have a broadband connection with unlimited data plan that I use to connect my home laptop or computer to the internet. Its a wired internetNow that I'm connected, I want to share my internet connection with my PSP or another computer by creating a WIFI Hotspot. Is it possible to create a WIFI hotspot on a Laptop thats connected through a broadband and use it on another device such as PSP ??Can someone help me configure it ? PLS :lol:Thanks

Is This Normal? Network Connections too many.
bluedragon replied to ransackthenation's topic in Computer Networks
It looks normal to me.. May be a background process is/are also using internet .. It seems that its not the machine's fault but ISPs problembtw.. You didn't mention if its a DSL or some other internet. If its a wire based thing, do check all the wires that go INTO the modem, there might be a crack in the wire thats causing all the slowdown -
Welcome to Xisto :XD:I guess you were in a hurry when you wrote this You forgot to mention some of the details :Panyways.. This has once happened to me also .. My Samsung DVD Drive stopped working and everything I inserted in it was taken to be a CD .. at-least it showed it as CD in my case but played nothing.. I was trying to watch a movie and I freaked out .. It was around mid-night and I knew the DVD was working properly .. Anyways.. I am only assuming since I have not seen your system :lol:Try these1. The Alignment for the Drive's lens could be out .Give it to some service centre they'll fix this if that's the case. Since your system is quite new, I think they wouldn't charge anything.2. It could be a break in your IDE cable (if it is IDE, SATA drives don't normally do this) . Just try changing the IDE Cable.3. Do you have more than one HDDs ? Since it could be due to a conflict in hardware configuration of the Drives.. Sounds funny but I've seen this with a Dell system. If that's the case. Try removing one of the drive and make sure that DVD drive's Jumper is set on CS(cable select).4. Its not a driver problem. Although it could be a driver conflict. Do you have any of the Virtual drives configured ?Try removing those and see if it helps..5. When was the last time you were able to see your drive working. I'll suggest you perform a restore to that date and see if its bcoz of a software conflict.6. If none of this helps try reformatting .. and if that doesn't help .. sue those HP bastards. They can't make anything right :DP.S. Try running ubuntu or some live linux distro to see if your drive is working properly under that.. Linux is quite good with hardware faults. IF its a hardware error your drive won't work in that .. but if its a software fault it will .Kindly give your system specs related to problem in detail .. that helps in providing a more specific solution
