I completely agree, however in a great amount of circumstances, an emergency c section can be performed if a mother was at risk.

Capital Punishment - A Critical Analysis
TheDisturbedOne replied to princeofvegas's topic in General Discussion
I would NOT want to see him in the electric chair or in a gas chamber. It is simply because a death is too easy to give to him. I would prefer to see him put in a labor camp until he dies of old age. It would be a better use, and the end would still be met. -
Ipb Vs. Phpbb2 Vs. Smf Vs. Mybb Vs. Vb

vBulletin is NOT a one time payment, as they charge you to upgrade to version 4. A major rip off. -

legend112, thanks. The banner was made by Guedda, you can find him on deviant art. Very good at graphics. As for the customization, I mainly did it. I added some MODs, but did a great deal of custom coding. Thanks max promotion. -
Also if your posts are multiple lines and have depth in them, you will get more MyCENTs. Such as this post won't earn me anything/much, but it doesn't really matter as I have $35+ saved up, nevertheless.

I never used rapidshare for uploading, and this is another reason to avoid them. Megaupload is OK for me though...

Capital Punishment - A Critical Analysis
TheDisturbedOne replied to princeofvegas's topic in General Discussion
Ah, you are right that it costs a ton of money for life in prison, but according to a Time article (forgot which), on average a trail in which the death penalty is seeked, the cost of the trial is over $3 million. In contrast life in prison is much less. Even where the death penalty isn't given, but the prosecution seeks it, it costs about $2 million a trial. -
I'd say go to a good bookstore if you want one with thick pages. Barnes and Noble should have some. Most of the Bibles that are produced now have extremely thin pages that can tear just by turning the page. KJV is a great version of the Bible (well, there aren't any bad versions), I use it.

Have you seen his site? It has a really cool member called "TheDisturbedOne". Very good to have if you are new to websites. I usually do manual installs though. -
Forum Software Not sure where this goes...
TheDisturbedOne replied to Ho-oh'sRealm's topic in Software
I've been using SMF for a long time (at least 1.5 years) and like it much better than phpBB. It is much more secure, and has a lot of good MODs. The support is very good, and it isn't that hard to tinker with. -
How Many Of You Still Have Your Old Sub-domain?
TheDisturbedOne replied to The Simpleton's topic in General Discussion
Still have it and have and have my network website on it. #9 for Google search for "site:Xisto.com" -
I can tell you that if you just jump straight into expert on easy/semi-easy songs, you will eventually get the hang of it. I can still 100% a few Expert songs, and I haven't played it in a long time. If you have Guitar Hero II, try Strutter on Expert. It is one of the best songs to get you into expert. I jumped from medium to expert on Strutter and I did pretty well on it.If you know how to play real guitar or bass it helps a lot as well.

You can also password protect PDFs so that without the password you can't open it or print it on your computer. I forgot how to do it, but that should give you a better option.

I forgot the name of the show, it may have been something along the lines of Inside Death Row. I don't think these child rapists should get 5 years. Though 5 years is a long time to think about something, the person that got abused is scarred for life. I think all cases of rape when the victim is under 13 should get a life sentence. The reason why I say 13 is that some teens tend to be caught up in relationships, and decide to have sex WAY too early. It pains me to see a teen getting a stat rape charge for something that would have been consensual if the other person were of age. In addition, the person facing the stat rape charge is now considered a sex offender and would be in the same category as the child rapists. I think the 18 year old (for consent) is mainly in place to discourage teens from having sex (which is a good thing to discouraging teens to do), but some people and the DA take things way too far. If a victim is under 18 and it is legit rape, I think they should be locked up for a long time, life or slightly less, depending on circumstances.

Are Torrent Files Allowed?
TheDisturbedOne replied to TheDisturbedOne's topic in Web Hosting Support
I think the thing here was me hosting the TRACKER on Xisto. The tracker would use a ton of RAM. As for torrents themselves, it is possible for you to hide them in other files. For example I know somebody online who hides torrent files in pictures. You download the picture and change the extension to .torrent, and you have a perfectly working torrent. -
These sites don't really care about the files on their server (though they will comply with DMCA Orders or Cease and Desists). They are out there like most other websites to make money. They do this by allowing people to download files. They don't care if it is illegal or not, they just care about making money.

MediaWiki is even harder than phpBB to install. It took me about 30 minutes to get everything right. Have you seen the new smileys in RC2? They are a lot better than the old ones.
-
SMF will always support 1.1.x. They aren't going to disable support for it just because a new version came out. The new Curve theme is much better than the old default theme. It looks very professional.

SMF. The design is better, MOD additions are easier, support is faster.phpBB also has a ton of security exploits.

Death Penalty- Though I would want all child rapists to rot in hell, killing them seems too humane for me. I think giving them a lifetime to think about what they did in a jail (not even hardcore murders will defend child rapists). I also think that in some cases, the death penalty is used on innocents (Sacco and Vanzetti trial comes to mind, though nobody really knows if they were guilty). With the advancement of DNA and the like, less innocent people are dying from the death penalty, but it could still happen if there wasn't enough physical evidence at a crime scene. Also, I've seen a documentary on National Geographic about the death penalty. A lot of the people on death row have changed (or seem to have changed) after their convictions. One guy spent 16 hours a day reading the Bible and seeking spiritual help (I believe the guy murdered his family). I'm not saying set them free (actually far from it), but the people on death row can make a turnaround, and which I think deserve life in prison for. The end of the show had the credits rolling in front of what was left of the guy's family weeping over his dead body.I'll reply to other ideas later, I've got a bunch of stuff to do at the moment.

Not as well as I thought he would do. And those weren't even high standards. He has already put one foot into public healthcare, and started funding stem cell research. His support has gone down faster than Bush's approval rating went. Far from satisfactory. I'd give him a generous 13/100 I knew he wouldn't do well, and my suspicion was right. He doesn't have full Democratic support for the healthcare bill, and is blaming Republicans for it (while a full Democratic vote would pass the bill!!). I wasn't old enough to vote for him in this past election, but in 3 years, unless he makes a 100% turnaround (aka becoming a conservative), I won't be voting for him in 2012. Nevertheless my vote doesn't count as my state hasn't voted Republican since Reagan. If you wish to debate about anything I'd go for it. I like hearing opposing viewpoints and debating, as long as there are no personal attacks. Though I do have a few strong liberal ideas, such as banning the death penalty. This isn't Salem, and we aren't in the 1600's.
