What kind of guides would you want. Like once you know the basics all you have to do is basically use those to create complex stuff like login scripts and news scripts and such that suite your needs. Also, if you understand the language just look at the API and use that as a reference or a starting point. There most likely wont be advanced guides for any language.

Yeah it must be only you cause i never have an issue viewing the Xisto forums or my own site hosted here. I would check your ISP and/or your network because many times sites do not load when there is too much traffic on a router and such.

My advice would be to take C++ and Java. Java is supposed to be the future language but both have their pros and cons. C++ is much quicker when dealing with complex calculations while java is better with a few other things. In the end, knowing both would be the most helpful since you can always embed one inside the other to utilize their most effficient parts.

I prefer norton. I have used both but to be honest i found that norton was more reliable and a better program. Plsu, i know too many companies that use Norton over McAfee so i take that as a good sign.

Google Easter Eggs things that google is hiding
fffanatics replied to GuySpook's topic in Search Engines
I love google. They have a good sense of humor most of the time. All of there different funcitons have something hidden that can make you laugh. You gotta love them -
The easiest way to get the background hover to be the same size is just to put all those in a table like structure using divs like my site and just use the onmouseover part of the link tag to change the class of the div to a new class that has background color the one you want Just check out my code for leftmenu to see how that is done if you want.

Photoshop Painting Effect Using Filters
fffanatics replied to green fairy's topic in General Discussion
Nice effect and good tutorial. I may have to try it on a few of my images that i am currently creating -
Definitely have to say its a very good sig. I love the color contrast between the border and teh images inside. The kinda random looking shape of the border makes it all so much more intrigueing to look at and the face on the right brings your eyes to the image. Well down and i have to say im a huge fan of ur sigs.

Yeah just like cmatcmextra said it defeats the point. The point of hosting credits is to maintain an active forum while also providing a very good hosting service. It is not very hard to get hosting credits if you post in the forum daily. I for one do around 2 posts a day and on randoms days earn up to like 10 credits in a sitting. You should have thought about that before you went on vacation and planned accordingly like the rest of us.

Yeah i saw that yesterday...it was interesting to view the moon and all but i wish they had the american flag that was planted in the moon from visible but o well no one is perfect. Also their joke was kinda funny and wierd at the same time cause i definitely was not expecting it when i zoomed in.

Yeah this is a very good template. It has a modern / tech feel to it but isnt the content of the site kinda geared towards that look? The site is not a professional site so why should it have a professional look. I really like the colors and the layout but like others said the font could use some work. Overall it is a very good, exciting and unique template

It depends on what OS you are planning to make the GUI for. If you are going to make a windows gui, you just need to Google or read up on the WinAPI. If you are writing the software for another OS just search for their drawing api or another similiar term.

Favorite Game Soundtracks Whats your favorite OST?
fffanatics replied to Tseng's topic in Computer Gaming
I am so surprised that more people did not list the Final Fantasy soundtracks as their favorite VGMs. They so happen to be mine. I love all of Nobuo Uematsu's music so much that i actually own all the OSTs of all the Final Fantasy games. However, i would have to say that the Final Fantasy 7 soundtrack was the best. The reason i think that is because of how much the music makes ones mind relate to the mood of the game and the feelings of the game the specific moments in it. Everytime i hear one of the songs i can relate to the characters and how they feel along with how i feel current at the moment. They just are awesome and i recommend purchasing them and supporting Nobuo Uematsu. -
Wow thats actaully going to be really useful if i need directions and i am lost in my car or if i just need a definition on vacation. Thanks

I have never tested my typing speed but it does not affect your scripts that you write. What affects how quickly a script is written has to be your planning and you knowledge of the language. If you have planned out what you need to do and how you are going to do it and if you know how you are going to implement it and are familiar with this form of implementation, then they will be completed quicker and with less errors. However, if the implementation is new to you or you just sit down and try to do the script, then if will take you atleast twice as long to complete it.

What Is Your Favorite Books/series Come on Tell us Lol...
fffanatics replied to BeyondEarth's topic in General Discussion
My favorites series has to be first Dune, they are the best sci fi books ever...so intense and so amazing and addiciting. Then i would have to say that my next favorite series is Harry Potter...they just are so relaxing and happy and easy to read. -
This is not a new topic but ill answer again anyway.1.) Trillain - i love all of its features, its gui interface, and the sounds it makes since i can get my weather, control winamp, etc all from it.2.) Shadows Bittorent Client - the easiest to use and most reliable bittorrent client i have used. Never lets me down when dling new linux distros or versions3.) Active Desktop Calendar - my favorite calendar because it allows you to show x number of days events on your desktop so you do not have to open it to see what you need to do plus its very easy to use and you have plenty of options you can personalize.

The reason they are adding more space is so that they can just say that they offer more then competitors and the longer you use a particular email client the more you will end up using so i bet by next year i will be at something like 10% of my gmail space so i am glad that i do not have to worry about space for a few years

Well some of you say that the ipod and ipod mini rock but in the end they really are not as good as some of the competition. I recently have purchased a samsung YH-820 and it is a much nicer player. It is smaller and weighs less plus it has a color screen and a 5 gig harddrive and i spent the same amount as a ipod mini or less on it. Apple tends to be over priced most of the time which is why i never have really wanted to purchase any of their items.

What Desktop Resolution Do You Run On?
fffanatics replied to Guevara's topic in Science and Technology
I currently am running my laptop with dual monitors. One of them is the laptop screen which is at 1920 x 1200 and i love the small resolution. You can see and do so much on it at once. The other screen is set to 1024 x 768 so like you all said i can test what my website looks like on the common resolution along with larger resolutions. -

Everquest Forum Banner your critique
fffanatics replied to BuffaloHelp's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Yeah its a very good banner i think. It looks very good and is easy to see and not to cluttered. The only things i would have changed would have been the stick that the enchanter is hold i would have removed it and the along with all the other changes is the background in that corner. I just would have left the ocean. Besides that great banner. -
Wow what a great list. I seemed to hit everyone single program that i know of that is free that i use so great list. Hopefully a good number of people will find this list useful just like I am. Thnaks

Yeah, the only thing that could be considered free photoshop would be a open source program called GIMP. Many people believe it is better then photoshop however, others disagree. In my opinion they both work great but there methods to do numerous tasks are a little different. You might want to check it out since it is free and widely used so many tutorials should be available.

yeah i like the solidhelium layout much better. It just gives a warmer welcome because of the light colors along with the fact that it just molds well. It appears more professional because of the way the images are along with the colors. Thats the one i would go for.
