Photoshop Tutorial: How To Make A Userbar For Signatures
pyost replied to pyost's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
It's probably because you click "Define pattern" without anything drawn. This option allows you to make the current image a pattern. That's why you first have to DRAW the diagonal line (in a 6x6 transparent document), and only then click "Define pattern". First, you open the photo you want to add. Next, you select only the part you want copied. Then you press "Copy" and literaly DRAG the selection to the userbar (both images need to be opened). After doing that, locate the selection where you want the image to be and press "Paste". And there you go. -
I would be suprised if there weren't at least few web sites on this topic. However, I'm also quite sure that you would have to pay, even for this kind of "service". On the other hand, there also might be sites that test your site's vulnerability by running various scripts. Now that you've mentioned this, I would like to have something like this, too, so I'll do some googling I'll tell if I find something

This is one of those small improvents that really mean a lot. It's not rare that I close Firefox, but forget to bookmark a good web site. And what's with the speed? Has it increased, or stayed the same? Or maybe decreased

@dhaneshIf you can't access the server, than some program is blocking Tunatic. I had the same problem, because ZoneAlarm wouldn't allow it to access the internet. The songs get recognised through the microphone - I just put mine right next to the speaker However, there might also be a option for recognizing songs off the hard drive, but I haven't tried doing that.@JeighIt probably wouldn't work, but it's worth trying. I've had some luck with live recordings, but it's just not the same

http://www.wildbits.com/tunatic/ Seems too good to be true, don't you think so? WRONG! I couldn't believe it myself, but the software does exactly that. After downloading the setup file (500KB) and installing the program, the program started and revealed a neat design. Simple, with one button, and quite small. As it says, you need to have a microphone in order to use it, so I put my mic next to the speaker, played a Franz Ferdinand song, and clicked the identify button.. After about 15 seconds, I got the song title and artist. You might think it's a coincidence, but wait till you hear this! I tested the program by playing 15 more different songs, and not only in English, but also Turkish - it got them all! This is a really great program if you hear a song you like on the radio, but don't know what it's called. Also, there is another option which is useful if you want to get the song right away. The program IS freeware, and we can see why - when a song is identified, you can buy it at http://blogs.allofmp3.ru/ by clicking a small arrow next to the title. Great stuff, if you ask me

That's not greed, that's good business. After all, it's one of the rare fields where Google actually earns money, and we all know that a big company like that needs big incomes I would say the system is quite fair, and well-balanced, which is the most important thing.
-
Exactly. And the powerful thing would probably be useful to everybody - that's exactly what Google is. Of course, I'm sure there are people that are against it, but it's only because they can't use it and/or it's hurting their business (I'm talking about AdSense versus Clicksor).

Whats The Difference Between Hosting At Trap17 And Astahost
pyost replied to niran's topic in Web Hosting Support
Yes, I think you CAN modify the MX records. I though about doing that when I bought my domain at GoDaddy, but I find it better to park the domain and create a mail account through cPanel. -
That's a fair amount in my opinion, and is approximately the same as mine earnings. Nevertheless, I though you are earning more, for example 5 dollars per month, since you said you have got around 25 dollars at the moment. So, how long have you been participating in the AdSense program? I was approved on March 1st this year, and have earned 6.24 dollars since then. That's six months, so I've been earning a dollar per month Poor me

Actually, the name of the song is "Nobody's Listening". And you want find any help on how to download it around here

Whats The Difference Between Hosting At Trap17 And Astahost
pyost replied to niran's topic in Web Hosting Support
Nope, the features are the same. What's more, I think Asta has better servers (I seem to recall someone mentioning it). Yes, you can do that. You can either change your default domain name (subdomain -> domain), which costs credits, or park the new domain name. Either way, you have to set the domain nameservers to ns1.astahost.com and ns2.astahost.com -

Yup, it's the same for me, probably a script error. Anyway, thanks for pointing that out, an admin should fix it soon. -
Whats The Difference Between Hosting At Trap17 And Astahost
pyost replied to niran's topic in Web Hosting Support
Since you are not asking about the forums, there is no difference. Both services offer the same plans, and the only difference are the forums. Here at Xisto, we deal with a wider range of technical topics, and some people might find it difficult to post. -
Professional Logos Are they any good?
pyost replied to BooZker's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
The second one is far better than the first one. It has a futuristic, 3D look and would nicely blend with a silver/blue/green theme (or so I think). The first one is a bit too shabby, and wouldn't be a good choice for sites nowadays. -
I think mod_rewrite could help me, since the PHP extension won't work in CSS. Just to see if I got it all: I put "image.gif" in the CSS file, but mod_rewrite redirects it to image.php, so I get the php file, right? You said that the image in your signature works the same way, but it serves a PNG image, while I need a PHP image. Sort of As for the script, I'll se if there's something on the net. If there isn't, I'll be sure to ask you for help.

While browsing the web, I bumped into a script that I could really use, since it's different from everything that I saw. Most scripts that view a random image contain a code that chooses an image, and then puts the <img> part into the page itself. However, on the http://www.greenplastic.com/ web site (dedicated to Radiohead), in the top left corner there is a random image module. If you look at the code, here's what is used: <img src="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/; width="125" height="125" /> Now, how can a PHP script be an image, and what kind of script that is? If you do visit that URL, you don't get a normal page, but a radom image. Keep refreshing the page and you'll see what I'm talking about. As for why I need this script and not one that uses the first mentioned method, it's quite simple. I want the random image to be used for a background, and that code will be entered in the CSS file. So, I want something like this: module { background: #191919 url(images/random/random.php) no-repeat top left;} I hope you get the point. If anyone could point me to a script like this, I would be very grateful.

Wow, I wonder how people manage to find topics this old!! Anyhow, I'm sure it would be rather safe to delete those files, but I'd leave them alone. The folder name says it all - they are just temporary files, which means that they will be removed sooner or later. As for the files that stay there, don't delete them if they are small (only a few megabytes). I'm sure you could live with a bit more space taken up

So many choices, but I would choose number one at any time. I like the stars in the background and support the use of soft edges. That's exactly why I eliminated numbers two, three and four.Number five is just too white, while number six is a bit hard to read. Number seven would also look nice, but only if there were a background. This way, it's a bit plain.

Most of the info is found either in the FAQ section (which does needs some updating, to be honest) or in the Announcements section. After all, it does say that you ought to read the announcement topics before posting. Of course, being active won't bring out any problems, so you won't have to ask for support

As far as I know, the credit number you have to achieve has been decresed, and now it is FOUR. So, when you get past four (or maybe five) credits, your account will be unsuspended in a few hours. Of course, it wouldn't be bad if you got all the way up to ten as soon as possible - but don't forget, no spamming!

You need to use a service that will sell your domain for you, such as https://sedo.com/us/. You need to point your domain name to their nameservers - after that, your domain will point to a single page with ads, also saying that "the domain name is for sale". You get money when people click on those ads, and that sum is added to the amount a person pays for your domain. I know they support PayPal, but am not sure of any other alternatives.

Nowadays, most motherboards support this feature. Two years ago, I bought my current motherboard and it has dual channel memory support. If you are buying a new one, it is always better to buy a motherboard with at least four slots and dual channel support (that is, if there are still those that don't support it). As for arranging the use of memory slots, you usually have to put all the same modules in even or odd slots. For example, I have two 256DDR RAM Kingston modules and 4 slots on the motherboard. In order to function properly, I had to put these modules in slots number one and three. Later on, I will probably buy two same modules (which is recommended) and put them in slots number two and four. Whereas we might not notice the difference when using dual channel memory and when not, it is still there, which can be proved by starting various memory tests - try that out and you'll see.

Solar System To Have 12 Planets
pyost replied to xboxrulz1405241485's topic in Science and Technology
I guess this is the best solution. It was either 8 or 12 planets - and to be honest, Pluto never was a planet. It's only the scientists' fault it wasn't handled earlier. For the last 15 years we new it were smaller, but number 9 wasn't to be changed.Sure, I am sorry this is changed after so many years, but anything for science
