ok, i don't know what is happening at your schools, but it must be a one in a million.i attend the best high school in australia (james ruse), and NONE of these things happen there. just one street away from us, there is another high school: cumberland high. now THEY are worse: a non-selective high school, they were on the news last year for a big bash-up. i don't know if these things happen EVEN there. drugs, alchohol... i have never been exposed to these things throughout my high school life.these things definitely do not happen in the better, selective high schools.

i have just ONE LAST question, then am going for it:1) i would like to, once i am approved, use only my domain, and not use the bthaxor.trap17.com anymore. however, i would like to do this in the following way: my mysql databases stay the same, and under the same name, as with all my files and their chmods etc. however the only difference is that my website is at a new address (obviously), and maybe that i have to use a different server to log into my ftp. is this possible?if this is possible, even if it means giving up a few more credits, then im going for it right away.

thanks so much... so it's kinda like, you login with the same server, same username and password for ftp and cpanel, but you have another folder for your domain?oh well, i think that when i apply, i will probably understand.final question: does that mean that you must pay two credits a day, because you are upkeeping both a subdomain and a domain?

hey all, i am very tempted by this offer and just have a few questions to clear out, then will act upon this:1) the answer to this is most likely yes, however can you use credits you have bought to get your free domain?2) i am currently hosted, and my site is bthaxor.trap17.com. when i apply for the free domain projekthaxor.com, which is available, do i still get to keep my old subdomain as well??? also, when i log into my ftp client, do i use a new ftp server?3) in some of my pages, i have links to bthaxor.trap17.com. will i have to change this to projekthaxor.com, or does it automatically redirect or something (sounds like a stupid question, answer is most likely yes)4) i have many scripts set up which require a mysql database. currently, my databases have the prefix 'bthaxor'. will this change?thanks so much if you can clarify these things.

i think you are missing a media player that 100% deserves to be there... as a matter of fact, that would have been the first one i would have put: vlc media player. it can play almost anything you give it, is portable and doesn't take up much room.my unifficial vote goes to that.also, another one would have been divx player: although specifically for divx movies, it plays everything you give it, also (probably some on-demand codec donwloader)i believe these two media players should have replaced the 2 of the 3 versions of winamp??? what's up with that???

well, actually i think that widescreen is an inbuilt feature of the ipod touch. it doesn't fit the movie into it's resolution, but displays it widescreen. does anyone who has an ipod touch know?

ok ok ok, so i went and watched this movie about a month ago, and it was probably the BEST movie of 2007/2008.as you all know, will smith was the star of this movie, and he was absolutely brilliant. when i first saw the trailers, i thought that the movie would be set out in the following way: they show glimpses of the past, and then how three years later he is the only one. then he has to try to find out what happened etc. and how he can bring the human race back. the second idea was correct, however the first wasn't. the movie was ENTIRELY set three years after the human race was wiped out, and he is the only one remaining. the only flashbacks you get from the past are at the beginning and in his dreams.***WARNING: DO NOT READ THE REST OF THIS POST IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE MOVIE, IT WRECKS IT FOR YOU***ok, so it starts off with a news report from the past. they are discussing a new treatment for all forms of cancer. this is possible through the genetic modification of the measels. next thing you know, you see will smith and his dog. will is holding a pretty big machine gun, and they are walking along a street overgrown with grass.from here follows a series of thrilling moments, in which will comes close to death many times. i wont elaborate on the middle part of the movie, see that for yourself. you get to see what has become of the rest of the human race.the end was the best part of the movie. will's dog dies after being infected by one of the feral dogs. will attempts suicide, however is rescued by two other survivors. they take will to his home, however that night the dark seekers had followed them to the home. it finally comes down to this: the three survivors are in the basement along with like 100 of the dark seekers, only separated by a glass wall. just before it seems as if they will die, will discovers that one of his experiment cures worked. he gives the cure to the other two survivors, and hides them in the fireplace. then, he reaches into his desk and pulls out - you guessed it, a grenade! just as one of the dark seekers breaches the glass, will pulls the pin and sacrifices his life for mankind.finally, the other two survivors make it to a 'survivor's camp'. they hand the cure to the officers in charge, everyoneis saved etc. etc.the end tells you what a legend will was. it ends with the line:'this is his legend'this is a 5/5 movie. as i said, what i think was the best movie of 07/08. a warning though, this movie is not for the faint-hearted.

hey guys,i just recently got an 8gb ipod touch and i LOOOOOOVE it!i found an excellent video and dvd to mp4 converter, however i have just one problem with it.it allows you to convert to a number of sizes, and i have figured out that i must choose between two of them. they are displayed as:-ipod touch mpeg-4 wide screen (720x406)and-ipod touch mpeg-4 extra (640x480)after doing some research, i discovered that the ipod touch's screen size is actually 640x480, however widescreen might also look better....so which one? does anyone know?

thanks for clarifying that rvalkass, i think it would be worth it then. i'll just sign up to phaxor.com... but i would also like to know - say that this scenario were to happen:i sign up for free domain hosting,. under phaxor.com which is available, and then before my one year free hosting expired, i would like to move it to haxor.com (this is after the three-month renewal period and all that). would Xisto do that for me free?

can i just ask a couple of questions:1) when you say that your files would be transferred for free, does that mean they will be chmodded the same as well?2) would your mysql databases be transferred as well, under the same names?3) when you say that .com domains are available, can i get a .com.au domain?4) i would like haxor.com, however whois says it is already taken. i go to haxor.com, and there is nothing there. would i be able to choose it?5) in relation to my previous question, i can see that on whois, haxor.com is taken until the 28th of august, next year. say that i am not able to register for such a domain now, and i register for a free domain under another name. when august 28th comes next year, will i be able to 'renew' my free domain via another 280 credits, and then get my website transferred from the current domain to haxor.com? if i can, then do 1) and 2) apply?thanks, and i reckon this is just another great Xisto initiative. this truly shows that Xisto is the best free web hosting. even some paid hosts still require you to have a subdomain.

where exactly should this .htaccess file be? because i searched all of the directories of my blog, and couldn't find one. if there is not one, where should i make one? should it be in the root blog folder? (the 'blog' folder)?EDIT: i fixed it thanks to rvalkass's help! thank you so much. i created a .htaccess file in the root directory (the 'blog' folder), and now the links work. everything works :Pthanks.

but rvalkass, shouldn't wordpress automatically create these directories/poages for me? after all, isn't that why i chmodded half of the folders that i did - so it can create such directories?does anyone else out there have the same problem? if so, how did you solve it?

no... none of the links work! i was talking about the ones associated with the blog - the ones on the left hand side. the ones which actually (try to) access files from within the blog directory.as for the design, thanks, i spent a long time searching for that design which was JUST right for me, and i finally found it

well, to be honest, i do not think this has lived up to its expectations. everyone says wordpress is the best blogging system, however it doesn't seem to be working out all that well for me... firstly, i downloaded all the files, uploaded them to the web folder, chmodded them appropriately, made sure that i had filled in all of those things such as mysql database details properly... i remember thinking: 'wow, that really was an efficient installation! that took me even less than 5 minutes!' all was well until i started writing entries and customising the blog. i did it exactly as they say you should in their guides, and cannot understand where i went wrong. right now, my blog is completely screwed up. none of the links work, and neither does the search function. basically, NOTHING works! when i try clicking on any of the links, all i get is a 404 error. and although i may be no good at setting up blogs, i do know that it's not meant to do that... the problem here is that i am not sure who is more to blame: wordpress or me? i think i have done everything right... my blog can be found here. please reply if you know why my blog is so screwed, and/or how to fix this. was it my fault? was it a five-minute installation gone wrong? or was it really wordpress's fault...

yes, i use the phone mainly for CONTACTING people. i dont need it for gaming or toenail clipping and all those other extras that many people use them for nowadays.its actually quite sad that we are trying to STOP ourselves from using technologies! these gadgets have become such a lrage part of our lives that everyone has an pod, or a phone, and if told to part with it they will say 'i cannot survive 20secs without calling my best friend'anyway, good luck. a week without a phone would be easy for me, though.

hmm... well to tell you the truth, the only times i have ever used yahoo are when i have needed to use yahoo answers. otherwise, i use google.however, i believe google is becoming polluted. before, it provided search results with the most relevance and best content. now, it is heavily influenced by the so-called 'search engine optimisation', and by its advertising partners... it tends to place websites that advertise on google nearer to the front of your results...also, i have found google to become too dominating these days. i have liked google because it seems to suppoirt open source projects such as firefox. its services seem really neat (im in love with gmail). finally, it has always aimed to put an end to microsoft's evil regime. however, these days i have found google to be just as annoying, corrupt and evil as microsoft... they misuse their great influence over the internet...

wow. truthfully, i always knew that google were powerful and influential, but never this powerful! i had always put my faith in google, because they always seemed to support open source projects, and seemed to try ending microsoft's evil regime, however now they have become just as evil as microsoft! hmm... sorry if you don't feel the same way i do about seo, anwii, however this is how all of those paid seo services optimise sites.yes, true, content is important is seo, however meta tags define what your webpage is about. and as i mentioned (i think you agreed), it is also important for you to link to respected sites and in turn for them to lnik to you.and yes, i do not believe that seo is important. maybe it is because i run a tight-knit community, where everyone knows the url and they couldn't care less whether it is on google... it depends. for online communities, i do not think seo is as important as advertising. for business, marketing and personal pages (where i find it highly unlikely that you will get into the first five pages of google anyway), well then maybe it is more relevant.please also remember that what i post is my opinion. i am not a prefessional seo serviceman, and most likely, neither are you.

truthfully, i have never really cared much about search engine optimisation. i mean, as long as your website users know your url, why would you care whether your site appears in google? anyway, i will still help you. the best seo method is using meta tags. these are standard tags in html that help define what your website is about. it is a well kno0wn fact that it is virtually impossible to even be listed on google without meta tags. there are two main meta tags (the two most relevant to seo): description and keywords. all you must do is add this code to your head: <meta name="description" content="this is a description of what your website is about"><meta name="keywords" content="insert your keywords here, separated with commas e.g. keyword1, keyword2, keyword3"> another thing that helps with seo are links: link to other sites that are on google, and have them link to you. affiliates work well here.
