  1. well sm, i have previously examined that mod, however it seems to show only latest posts, shows them in a list not a tabular format and i do not know how to customise it to my needs due to my lack of php knowledge. i hope opaque or buff will be able to help.
  2. hey guys, as you may know, i have ipb 2.3.4 set up on my site. i am currently using the centura skin and like it a lot. i have customised the header bar in terms of the logo, however also want a slab of text linking to the forums home at the top of the banner. i have so far managed to achieve this to work in firefox (see attached screenshot), however it just screws up in ie, opera and safari (i think). the link is here here is the code, both html and css, of the ipb header, and i have placed between stars the parts i have edited: the css (only the edited part):#headerlink {padding: 45px;font-color: #FFFFFF;font-size: 24px;}#headerlink a:hover{color: #d7dadc;text-decoration:none;}#headerlink a{color: #ffffff;text-decoration:none;} the html:<div id="hdr"><div id="hdr_rs"></div><div id="logo"></div><div id="hdr_body_ls"</div>***********<div id="headerlink"><a href="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/; title="projekt|haxor forums home">projekt<b>haxor</b>: forums</a></div>************</div><table id="nav" cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0'><tr><td align='left' style='width:18px;'><img src='style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/nav_ls.gif' alt='' /></td><td style='text-align:center;'><table cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0' align='center'><tr><td valign='top'><img src='style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/nav_div.gif' alt='' /></td><if="$this->ipsclass->vars['home_url']"><td><a href="{$this->ipsclass->vars['home_url']}">{$this->ipsclass->vars['home_name']}</a></td><td valign='top'><img src='style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/nav_div.gif' alt='' /></td></if><if="$this->ipsclass->vars['csite_on']"><td><a href="{$this->ipsclass->base_url}act=home">{$this->ipsclass->vars['csite_title']}</a></td><td valign='top'><img src='style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/nav_div.gif' alt='' /></td></if><!--IBF.RULES--><td><a href="{$this->ipsclass->base_url}act=Help">{$this->ipsclass->lang['tb_help']}</a></td><td valign='top'><img src='style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/nav_div.gif' alt='' /></td><td><a href="{$this->ipsclass->base_url}act=Search&f={$this->ipsclass->input['f']}" id="ipb-tl-search">{$this->ipsclass->lang['tb_search']}</a></td><td valign='top'><img src='style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/nav_div.gif' alt='' /></td><td><a href="{$this->ipsclass->base_url}act=Members">{$this->ipsclass->lang['tb_mlist']}</a></td><td valign='top'><img src='style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/nav_div.gif' alt='' /></td><td><a href="{$this->ipsclass->base_url}act=calendar">{$this->ipsclass->lang['tb_calendar']}</a></td><td valign='top'><img src='style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/nav_div.gif' alt='' /></td><if="$component_links != """>{$component_links}</if></td></tr></table></td><td align='right' style='width:18px;'><img src='style_images/<#IMG_DIR#>/nav_rs.gif' alt='' /></td></tr></table> please help if you are able to. edit: the page works fine in safari, it is just ie and opera (ie-based) where it doesnt work properly. NEVER MIND, ISSUE FIXED I HAD FORGOTTEN TO END A TAG...
  3. 1. that mod is for a VERY much older version of ipb, i have checked the code and it is destined to not work.2. that mod only shows the very last topic posted, i'd like it to show the last 20.thanks for the help, anyway. i have pm'ed opaque and buff, hope one of them will help.
  4. yes, i have checked invisionize and all the other usual mod sites, and have come up with nothing. i have, unlike many other trapn00bs, actually googled the subject before posting, and nothing has been found.i believe this is a mod found only on Xisto/Xisto, and i would be perfectly happy to leave copyright Xisto etc. in my code... i just really need this mod...thanks
  5. it works fine in ie7... i am assuming you are talking about the hover effect of the menu bar, and if that is the issue then yes, it does work on ie7. i dont have ie6 so i wouldnt know.i am a firefox fan, and i can also confirm it works on firefox 2.0.1.3.
  6. from what i have seen of your posts, this is happening because you had copied articles off the net and posted them without quotes - once the mods have placed that text in quotes, your credits drop.
  7. well, i will definitely not ever be printing anything from my ubuntu - i use my other computer with xp (office 2007) to print out my things. when you say removing cups removes applications as well, does that mean every application that has a file -> print option? if this is not the case, then how can i remove cups and cupsd from booting up? because it is certainly the thing slowing down my boot... here are my system stats: operating system: xp pro sp2 dual boot ubuntu 7.10 (the dual boot is working fine, xp seems ok with grub) processor: intel centrino 1.83 ghx (not top of the range but works fine for me) ram: 1gb display driver: intel express chipset i actually love badongo - fast downloads, fast uploads for members, very easy-to-use interface, not many limits... nonetheless, i have also uploaded the file to my 4shared account - link actually, the first few times i booted ubuntu it seemed to be fine, then after updating my whole ubuntu system some errors about the gnome desktop started appearing at boot, but i didnt pay any heed to them. they stopped appearing but then the problems started happening. and yes, i have enabled desktop effects, and they seem to be working perfectly so far with my compizfusion advanced settings thanks so much for your help, guys
  8. hey trapsters,on my website, i have set up my own (legal) ipb forum. it is currently version 2.3.4.i would like to have, as in Xisto, a mod which shows 'latest activity' at the bottom of each page.could someone please tell me where i can download this mod from?thanks.*by the way, this is the 57,000th topic
  9. hey trapsters, a few months ago, i reinstalled my laptop because i noticed it was getting considerably laggy. i first installed xp, however i didn't have the time to install ubuntu as well (dual boot) until around about a week ago. for some reason, however, my ubuntu 7.10 takes an awfully long time to boot. firstly, after the splash (ubuntu logo and loading bar), the common unix printing system (cupsd) takes about 30secs - 1min to load. then, once typing in my username and password, ubuntu goes through this very strange process of desktop switching before i actually get to my proper desktop. all in all, my ubuntu boot becomes 3-4mins, where it should be no more than 2mins. the shutdown is ordinary: the famous ubuntu 16 second shutdown. i was wondering: what is the common unix printing system, and do i need it? if not, how can i get rid of it? also, why does my ubuntu change its desktop 5 times before actually getting to my proper desktop? i have uploaded a video (only 28mb) showing the exact things that happen when i boot up my ubuntu. you can download it here thanks so much if you can help.
  10. my votes are in... good luck everyone!
  11. hey everyone, thanks if you take the time to complete this sig request. i have slightly deviated from the usual sig request format, because this one is slightly unusual... it is actually a userbar request... anyway, here goes: Size: 19x350 (heightxwidth) basically, i'd like an animated userbar - one that changes from image to image. an example is here. these are the different things i would like on it, in the order they appear - ignore the stuff in brackets, they are just comments: 1. bthaxor (some haxor-like background, be creative!) 2. true blue aussie (please, no aussie flags or anything! be creative, again) 3. hosted by Xisto 4. firefox lover 5. ubuntu user 6. wolfet maniac (game = wolfenstein: enemy territory) 7. ipod touch owner 8. jailbroken 1.1.4 (ipod touch) 9. adobe photoshop cs3 user 10. adobe flash cs3 user 11. ex-demonoid member 12. seeds his torrents 13. sony ericsson w300i user (phone) 14. skype me 24/7 15. loves the number 13 thanks so much if you can take this on! edit: you may have noticed i currently have a userbar in my signature - that is just a temporary one while i wait for someone to take my request on
  12. hey everyone,i know opaque worked pretty hard to set up the new rating system (eRate! mod for ipb), however i believe it should be removed. my reasons:1. people can abuse the system by rating people badly, just for the fun of it2. to see a post's rating, you must actually click on the 'list' link, which i believe is inconvenient, because if i'm flicking through posts and wanna see the good ones, i'd like to see their rating without having to click on a link.3. i actually believe the rating system is a bad idea - it is pointless, because it is quite obvious when a post is good and when it is spam. i believe there are no positives to having one, and all that's going to happen is that it will be abused.just my input, however i really don't like the idea of the rating system.
  13. hey everyone, i am sure that many of you may have heard of esnips, which is basically online file storage/sharing. you can now find almost any file imaginable on esnips, and in many ways it is better than rapidshare. previously, once you are signed in to esnips, you were able to download any esnips file via a button only viewable to members. back then, there was a method to download any file without even signing in. then, probably due to legal issues, users were able to choose whether or not people could download their files. the hack mentioned above, though, still worked. recently, esnips removed the download button ALTOGETHER, leaving many esnips users disappointed. the downloading method stopped working, and the usage of esnips drastically declined. i am pleased to share with you, however, a method for downloading files off esnips despite their current efforts to stop people from being able to do so. as with the previous method, there is absolutely no need to sign in. also, i am very proud to announce that THIS METHOD WORKS EVEN FOR FILES THAT HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM ESNIPS!!! NOTE: although there is a *.mp3 extension at the end of this method, use the same procedure REGARDLESS OF THE FILE EXTENSION OF THE FILE YOU ARE TRYING TO DOWNLOAD!!! trust me, it works. here is the esnips link to one of my favourite songs ('valentine's day', by linkin park): http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ to download this file, all i must do is change the url in the address bar in the following way: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/nsdoc/5f6eeea4-76f6-4ccf-8d88-f4d23af14488/09-Valentines-Day/ts_id/ns_flash/file1.mp3 NOTE: if the esnips link has an extension in the end, this method still works another method to download your files is via esnips download. basically, this site is a script which automatically converts your esnips links to what is shown in this tutorial. enjoy! DISCLAIMER: i am not responsible in terms of whatever content you chose to download from esnips. you choose to download music illegally, it's not my problem.
  14. i usually go on Xisto at 7-8pm australian eastern standard time, and there are at least a few people to talk to (especially sonesay, who is a kiwi therefore my friend by default ). however, last night i went on Xisto and this is how i was greeted: although heavily compressed, it is easy to make out that the only users online were the newest member and i (and 500 guests). i believe that this may deter some people from joining Xisto - when they see inactivity in the forums, they think we are dodgy. also, there are no mods around at this time, and although i do my best to welcome new members and help people with their issues, there are some things which it is impossible for me to do as a standard hosted member. let me give an example of one of the changes i believe should be enforced: the other night (and kobra500 is a witness), there was a spammer on the forums. i warned him via both the shoutbox and pm not to spam, reported his posts etc., however due to the fact that there were no mods online, the only thing kobra and i (average hosted members) could do was watch in despair as this person continued posting things copied directly off the net. in the end, he managed to make approx. 20 posts, then decided he had spammed enough. he was banned the next morning. in this case, a good change to the forums would be the following: if three or more members report the same post of the same member, he should be immediately banned. just some of my thoughts
  15. as the topic description states, this is the third day of public transport chaos in sydney this month. today, however, i was unfortunate enough to be caught up in the chaos, so i present to you the event from both my perspective and the factual side. firstly though, to get an overall idea of sydney's rail network, there is a map of it here. MY SIDE OF THE STORY: every tuesday morning, i must go early to school due to an english enrichment class. our teacher is awesome, however he is quite strict, especially on punctuality. the class begins at 8am, and ends at 8:50am. this morning, i arrived at hornsby station (one of the larger stations in sydney, connects sydney to newcastle and northern new south wales) earlier than usual - i was there at 7am, my train leaves at 7:17. i catch a train to epping station (the northern line (the red one)), and then a bus from there to school. there was an all-stops train leaving hornsby at 7:13, however i did not get on because i usually catch the express at 7:17. this time however, something unusual happened. the train had just left the station, and two seconds later as it is halfway out of the station, it grinds to a halt. it remains like this for three minutes, after which the train reverses back into the station and its doors open. the passengers all escape outside. it is obvious that something is wrong, however since i am accustomed to delays, i didn't really pay much attention. at 7:20, an announcement is made that a train has broken down at thornleigh (see the map), and hence all trains from hornsby to epping would be indefinitely cancelled. for five minutes after this, hornsby station was thrown into chaos. usually, a hornsby-epping trip would take about 10 minutes for an express and 20mins for an all-stops. however, now passengers wanting to get off at epping or stations from hornsby to epping would have to, if you examine the map, basically make a circle of sydney! 7:25, chaos at hornsby station. even the station managers are not exactly sure what has happened at thornleigh. currently, there are so many people on the station that it is literally impossible to get into or out of the station. there are over 20 schools which have a school bus leaving from epping, which accumulates to almost 800 students alone! an announcement is made that cityrail would attempt to arrange buses from hornsby to epping within the next half hour or so, however i knew by now that i would most certainly be VERY late for english enrichment. besides, it would definitely be impossible to fit 800 students plus a further 200 adult passengers onto 5 or so buses. 7:30, station managers begin mucking up the north shore line as well (the yellow one). they begin changing all trains to expresses going straight from hornsby to central (central is the largest station in sydney. it is where all trains either terminate or leave from. at any given time, there are thousands of passengers traversing the 30+ platforms of the station), so those who were originally heading to epping would take a shorter time getting there via the long route. not knowing what was going on, when the problem would be fixed or when buses would be arranged, i get on one of these trains. 7:50, 20mins later i am at central station. if hornsby station was chaos, then i cannot find any words to describe the scene at central. to me, it seemed as if the entire population of sydney were there. i take 15minutes just getting from one side of the station to the other, so i can catch my train to epping via strathfield. 8:15, i am at epping station, and see the scene for myself. later on in the factual section, i will tell you what really happened. 8:30, i am at school. i am half an hour late, and i do not think my teacher will ever forgive me. THE FACTUAL SIDE at 7:10, a sydney buses (the public bus company for sydney) goes out of her empty bus to buy herself a coffee. she forgets to leave the handbrake on, though. 5minutes later, her bus literally ROLLS onto the rails of epping station. luckily, miraculously, no-one was hurt. at 8am, cityrail had finally managed to organise buses, however by then it was too late. in the news, it was reported that some students got to school as late at midday due to this incident. i know that this is not the fault of cityrail, however i am frustrated over two things: 1) the cityrail staff had no idea what was going on - either that, or they chose not to tell us the truth 2) this driver was not fined at all! i don't know what you think, however i took an hour and a half to get to school this morning, where it usually takes me 40mins. this is the official news account of the story: official article (none of the content of this post was copied) smh.com.au/news/national/runaway-bus-crashes-onto-tracks-a-hrefhttpwwwsmhcomaumultimedia2008nationaleppingbusaccidentstarthtmlbslideshowba/2008/03/18/1205602332228.html an image:
  16. link removed i do believe this is a zip of the full version... Notice from rvalkass: According to the site you need to pay for a licence. A free download of the full version therefore seems a little questionable. Link removed.
  17. welcome to spam patrol, cc! ironic, isn't it - spam patrol members spam more than the members whose spam they are meant to be patrolling.

    SPAM SPAM SPAM....

  18. yes, there is another way. for my website of projekthaxor.com, i would type in the address bar: projekthaxor.com:2082 but why would you want to access the cpanel a different way..? surely domain.com/cpanel is convenient enough...
  19. i currently have an ipod touch, and i am very happy with it. i thought the touch interface would be a pain in the rear end to use, however apart from the keyboard, they have thought of it very well (the on-screen keyboard when using safari etc. really frustrates me).the only other negative i can think of is the battery life - it is terrible. i am forced to recharge my ipod every day. my estimate is that it conks out after 5 hours or so of intensive use, which really is pathetic.of course, there is also that issue of third-party apps... but a jailbreak solves anything
  20. hehehe... thought i might spam my own profile. no probs, coolcat.

  21. i'm not gonna be left in the spam-coolcat's-profile game... SPAM SPAM SPAM.
