  1. I've been busy working almost whole spring this year, and the time off have been prioritized to alot more important things than my hobby and homepage here on Xisto. As a consequence to that have ofcourse been the lack of hosting credits and my hosting credits has unfortunately at least expired! So therefor have I by investigating other hosting solutions from avoiding my webpage to be suspended and customers wondering how serious I am, because the homepage are apperently offline due to my credit expiration. The next problem occour when I want to backup my homepage and mysql database here on Xisto to transfer it to a paying hosting solution. You cannot enter the cpanel or homepage before you have UN-SUSPEND your hosting Account with at least 4 credits (Positive). My HOSTING CREDITS are (-)81.64 (Negative), for me to UN-SUSPEND I need at least 86 hosting credits to get access to my account. Thats not impossible, but more a kind of frustration since I consider a change of hosting plan. Are there other ways for me to get access to my account and website, than keep me comment and write in the forums to get my 86 hosting credits?
  2. I'm running a D-Link DGL-4300 Wireless! I bought my router for about a three years ago, under consideration of having LAN Party's at home. With four Gigabit Ethernet ports it would be enough, since more part of my friends having Wireless network already in their computers. I have never had any problem running it, and easy piecy setting up application and gaming rules (portforward.com) to work secure and properly without any fuzz at my home network. I think it's a perfect router for homeowners or a small office. Notice from rvalkass: The spec needs to be put in Quote tags as it isn't your own work.
  3. Many good advices in this thread! I could be a good complement to a singers ABC!I am singing in a band and because of the music we play it will be much scream and it is unavoidable to not strain your voice, and occasionally sometimes so much that it hurts and you can?t sing one more tone. Rest is primary, warmup sing exercise before practice or preformance and my golden tip (dont laugh) warm Honey before preformance!
  4. Popups are enoying, they just bothers and make no sense for the most. Why go visit a page, and knowing you will be tormented with popups? Certainly you avoid it if you can. Opensubtitles.org for one exemple are one of these sites that by clicking the letterbox you call for a script that firefox included popup-blocker cannot block and its open up an advert. Thats irritating, but often one of these sites you cannot live without, so it is biting the sour apple when entering the last outpost for subtitles. Must I be giving negative opinion i also have to say something positive. One of the very few positive with popups and are in order if you calling for it, like watching a game trailer on gamespot.com for an exemple.
  5. Mosaic is the oldest, but remember the old times when Netscape was on talk and you had to bought a license in order to use it. But when Microsoft released their third or four for free, the other had to follow the lead, but i guess opera was the last one of the web browser to become completly free of charge, correct me if I am wrong. But back to the topic, I was brainstorming about the oldest website i could remember, and Iconbazaar popped up in my head. I couldn't find any information about how old that site is but i recon almost 10-12 years at least.
  6. Thanks lefehe for recommending this superb software! When working with customers computer security I always use Spybot - Search & Destroy, Lavasofts Ad-Aware 2007 Free and Microsoft own Windows Defender. It's three different types of spyware/removal tools that makes a good complement to each other. By running these three program I have thought it would be enough to keep the computer safe from harm. If the damage is already done, then I also use HiJackThis. Yeah, Superantispyware, sounds like a scam or malware program, but seems to be a really good program, which I plan to use for my customer. Thanks again! By the way, when the subject is up concerning spyware/malware/Hijacking I have read an interesting article preventing being hijacked and by tweaking the Browser Appliance using linux os in VMware's Player. Since Linux are built with more security it's not a bad idea. Read about it more - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  7. When it all comes to security, it will always be a risk that unauthorized people may take part of your confessionals. If you take this under consideration, you wont confess yours worst secret online. I wouldn?t. For about six years ago I was webmaster for a church, and as a service for the church and community, we had a Prayer Request online. Because the congregation wasn't to big, and the most part of the parish were elders there wasn't many who used it. But for them who used the service, sent anonymous prayer requests for the prayer team, to pray for. When the project got evaluated, many thought it filled up the need in the community. Apart from the security issue, I see no reason why not having a confessional service online for those who share the same faith, but won't go to a church for some reason.
  8. First thing said is that Windows Vista are a operating system that requires alot from a system running it. Windows Vista are more like a eyecandy, and therefore required more of a system to give you a nice graphic user interface. Like Windows Aero and the Sidepanel are features that increase your feelings for both your workspace and playground. Keeping that in mind when you are making a slight comparison between a system running Windows XP and Windows Vista. A system running Windows Vista requires at least 1 GB RAM Memory to work properly (Windows XP requires 256 MB) are what most computer stores are telling me. By helping and supporting people with their computers, I think 1 GB is too little to making the system run smoothly. One or two week and the systems loading time begining to make you both tired and frustrated. My best friend bought a 800 euro HP computer, with Windows Vista Home basic, with 1 GB RAM memory. One month later he was upgrading his computer with another 2 GB, but it wasn't an easy month, poor fella, he was swearing alot at his new bought computer and resisted that a new computer should last more than a week before running into problems. Instead of going back to that computer store and claim his money back, which I would done directly, he accepted the situation. I couldn't myself sell a computer to a customer, that I knew would give him problem and in the end would brought my customer back for compensation. If you like to upgrade your computer from Windows XP to Windows Vista, and your computer are a couple of years old, you may not get the full visual Vista experience, simply because that your hardware won't fully run Vista. When we are here with running issues, there are also problems by running applications and games that are a couple of years old. Some programs have ofcourse updates whom you can apply to keep up running your favourite games and programs. Burt unfortunate there are some who not have updates and won't run in vista, pearls that become abandon by falling off due to software incompability in Windows Vista. The next stone to cast on Windows Vista are certainly the Windows Vista User Account Control (UAC), that have driven me insane a couple of times, and my automatical response when I see a UAC protected account at my customers, is; "Do you wish me to inactivate the UAC?". Well the UAC feature is great if there are any spyware attempting to install anything without your acknowledge, but for most common users have often good browser behavior, and do not enter websites that looks suspicious. Next thing I hate in Windows Vista is the lack of drivers. How about upgrading you computer to a Windows Vista ome premium? By the way, you won't be running your superb soundcard, because theres no support for your soundcard in Vista. Not interested! Yes, the Aero is occupies alot of your RAM. Did you know that Vista's Aero graphics eat laptop battery power too. If you're travelling alot with your laptop, and using it while you travel, you will see that your laptop battery becomes quickly empty. Reconsider this, there are possibilities to change from Aero to Basic in Vista.
  9. Thanks guys for your replies. It cleared things up abit. I have googled around for a good program to make it easy and simple, but I haven't got any lucky, still same problem, some dumps works and some don't. For the moment I'm trying finding a way around solving the issue and I wonder if I can use Windows Media Player in order to Rip a CD to my computer, and if needed (which are easier to do with a computer) name the artist, album, tracks to the wma's and then burn for a example a mix CD with the best songs from my collection and rip the CD to my Xbox 360 and still maintain the audiotracks IDtag? If I succeed finding a way to make this work, I'll write a Tutorial.
  10. I got a couple of MP3 albums from my friends collection, and I wanted to rip theses CD's to my Xbox 360, to use them as background music when I play my games. Having them burned to a CD-RW, and putting the CD into my Xbox 360. When finished building tracklist, some of the albums comes with tags already filled out for the album name, the artist, tracks and genre , so its only to press Rip CD and everything is done. But some of the albums I burned, have no information at all. So I have to manually edit the name of tracks, artist and so on. Now theres a wonderful addition to your xbox360 game controll, a chatpad to ease up your editing. But for those peoples who are asking why should I buy a chatpad, in order to ease up editing a couple of my ripped CD's, might be asking; How come some albums works and some don't? Are there any program that could merge the information before burn to CD?
  11. It's nice to see people have experience of old OS as Windows 95, maybe even older? Back to the days when i bought my first computer(a 486) 1992, the choice of OS for a PC was simply one, Windows 3.1. Basical simply graphics, but it was cool, even if I got used to using MS-DOS alot. When Windows 95 released, everyone i knew talked about how awesome windows 95 were, plug n play, backward compatibility, 32-bit, new user interface. I was even lucky trying Windows NT 4.0, with kernelbased programs, which opened up for nice security holes, and program instability. But Indeed, Windows NT are our father to Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista. Today I'm using both Windows XP and Windows Vista, both in case of support. Even if Vista has more features, both graphic user interface and more system opportunities, Windows XP are still the one I prefer(Years of experience using it). Some customers have bad experience of using Vista, like Vista has no backward compatibility for games and programs, that customers are using. Often helped by upgrading softwares/games online. But still there are alot of old goodies that have been falling off the track when you start using Vista. UAC (User Account Control) is one of the functions that in the beginning drove me crazy. Executing an msi package, will generate the question, if you "really" want to execute the installer package. I'm fully aware of that the UAC has its advantages and you'll have 100% controll of whats happening with your computer. One more thing that I've encounter by helping customers to upgrade to Vista, is the lack of device drivers. Frustrated, I spent a couple of hour at my customers computer, which began to get frustrated on me because of the waiting. No, there were any drivers for his device for Vista. Hopefully, for Microsoft's part I wish they will cover up the lack as soon as possible.Still there are peoples that are jumping off the Vista train and goes back to Windows XP. And thats a pity, special if you just bought a new computer with a Windows Vista license and wish go back using XP, you must buy just another license, an XP license. Why not give the freedom to customers by giving them an universal CDkey that are working for the latest of Microsofts operating systems?Oh, that would be a crackers delight, wouldn't it?
  12. I play a Ibanez acoustic guitar, and have been playing it since the end of my six years musical class education. Violin was my first instrument of choice I began to play and try out, as I started the musical class, but only for a half year. The reason why was all the noisy sounds me and my violin made, instead of building a crowd, everyone ran away for cover. I don't blame them, it wasn't any piece of a masterwork going on there. After deserted my Violin, I started to take piano lessons, which were much more fun, and learned alot for almost three years of weekly lessons. Couple of years later, all piano practice started to make sense and began to write my own musical compositions. But before that, at the end of my education, I completely fell in love with acoustic guitars. I promised my self to keep learning and struggle to master the beauty in that wonderful instrument. Two am in the morning I sat in my sisters livingroom playing and playing, with my fingers aching, and her husband jelling; "Can't you just stop playing that thing so we other can get some sleep here". Hehe The sum up is that it was worth all effort I put down. I love guitars, special the acoustic ones.
  13. I have been using Firefox as webbrowser from the start release, and from the source it is more safer and more reliable than Internet Explorer was at that time. But by years of updates, security fixes and upgrade patches have made Internet Explorer (now 7) a equal opponent to Mozilla's Firefox. It seems that with tabs and features (google window) that Firefox always had a lead in the competition, Microsoft vs. Mozilla. Plus that Mozilla have always been so user customizeable(addons, features). I've been recommended customers for years to use Mozilla Firefox mainly for their web browsing security, but nowadays I can't see why not ordinary Windows user can use Internet Explorer 7 as default webbrowser. The better choice, which are my experience, that customers (in my case) use what they are used to and prefer. Thats one of the beauty in Firefox, opps, 300 Mb of system memory are occupied by firefox on my laptop. Task Manager, kill firefox proccess. When you don't need so much memory, ahh, firefox.exe recover Session Manager, back to where you were browsing.
  14. I cast my vote on Morrowind(The game of the year Edition).Expect from sports games, I am sucker for RPG!Titles I also like add to Best Xbox Games;Dead or Alive 3, Gun, Black, Mercenaries and Mashed: Fully Loaded.
  15. Today I own a Xbox, Xbox360, Wii, Laptop and a miditower PC.I think it's a question about what you want from a gaming system. Were you asking me for about four years ago my answer was definitely a PC.About two years ago I would say that Xbox is the most entertaining console system on the market.Today the battle is between Xbox360 and Wii. And I'm not hundred procent sure which one I wouldprefer as my Favorite Game System, simply because my entertaining needs changes from day to day.
  16. Like Bluebear's Norwegian, the Swedish are similar:For someone you love:Jag ?lskar digJag(Pronounce: Yag) = I?lskar(Pronounce: Elskar) = LoveDig(Pronounce: Day) = YouFor someone you like:Jag gillar digJag = IGillar = LikeDig = You
  17. If it's true, and a science fact, that you become more attractive if your eyes gets dialated. How about If a man have abnormal pupils and got AIDS, and score girls all the time, will there be any a pupil delargement or sexmutilate program?
  18. Overall, I like the more part of sports, I'm not fastidious.I like to think that every sport / game has it's own fascination, its own enchantment.Often I'll find something boring because the lack of understanding rules and key points.Back to the topic, my least Favorite Sport watching are indeed curling and golf. But I do enjoy a Tiger Woods PGA Tour on Wii with my brother.
  19. I say it is a great console, and worth every penny. Wii is more a family / party console that includes every friend / familymember to participate and have fun togheter. I've had my Wii console for about a half year, and I don't regret a single moment that I spent my 250,00 EUR on it. Are you looking for a console that provides great graphic and higher gaming experience, maybe a better choice for you is to spend your money on a XBOX360 or a PS3. But are you looking for something new, something different, I'll promise you will be gladly suprise of what Wii can give you. It's fun, its entertaining and activate you in a way that no other console on the market can. When it comes to games, I still love Wii Sports, and are often played at home. But I can also recommend Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy and Resident Evil 4. Hehe, Wiitis, I havent heard of it, so by curiosity I Googled and found: source: http://scienceofsport.blogspot.de/ Thats fun, but in personally consideration I think I rather having a portion Wiitis than having a Playstation thumb or a Playstation Lip. The same thing as last year, thought Nintendo should had expanding their production due to the demands on market. Still popular christmas gift, I guess!
  20. Thanks everyone for all advice and tips how to discover new music. I've and will definitely start using some of them.I appreciate taking your time to reply, everyone have they own way to discover new music, and there lies the treasures of contribution and sharing to the community. Once again thanks!
  21. Some of my customer complains about the new operative system, Windows Vista, and some of their complain are about compability issues(some program and games won't run on Vista), user interface(Hard to find settings and functions) and the OS loading time(Which are often helped by putting some more memory in your computer, since Vista requires at least 1 GB to run properly) For a couple of months ago my mother was going to buy a new laptop, and as retail the laptop had a Windows Vista preinstalled with 512 MB RAM memory, which should have work like a charm with Windows XP, but with Vista a barely functional laptop.Guess the store had to many complains about that computer combination, so they were offering another 512 MB to ease up. Sorry for going offtopic. As hitmanblood pointed out, the master boot record should be autoupdated, but instead of Imbibe's step which takes approximate 5-10 minutes, you could format Vista partition, and repair Windows XP installation from a Windows XP CD , which will take approximate 30-40 minutes.
  22. Love are often such a complicated story for another to tell what you are going to do or give you a right advice. The terms of your relationship are also individual and in these contains your rules, your expectations of your partner, feelings, needs and so on. People can be in relationship, but not in love. Amen! Whoever in love will experience the backside of the coin. But for myself I prefer crying than feeling miserable and unhappy. I guess it´s not an option, I'll recieve the whole package. :-P That one is a pain in the *bottom*. Ofcourse you're planning a future with your loved one. And if you're staying togheter for years, yes you're planning certainly for a house and maybe babies. A good question asking: Are we just together because we are used to each other and conformable being around each other? Ohh, or can we just be in love but not in relationship?
  23. Have you considering server maintenance? For a couple months ago, Microsoft had server upgrades, and in order of these, Xbox live failured now and then for a couple days here in sweden.
  24. Haha! I really hope that the dear beloved christmas father are reading this thread, for all I really want for christmas are a girl, the rest doesnt really matters. As far as I know Christmas are about love and about family, and thats what matters for me. Be togheter with they you hold as dear. Please, please dear santa, would you give me what my heart desire?
  25. My favorite kind of pet is definitely dogs. To compare with, in the past I'd had two guinea pigs, one rat, one rabbit and a couple of cats. I have a cocker dog today, and had a crossbreeded male for about ten years ago.In comparison to other animals I'd prefer dogs as favorite, because they're more personal, stronger connected between Dogs<->Human than Cats<->Human, because cats are more independent, less bound to their "masters".Dogs are more social, seeking more contact and are more devoted.I missing having a cat, but I would go crazy without a dog.
