  1. I too am a RS hater. I played it for a little while because all of my friends were into it, but there's nothing to do except for work on your stupid little skills. There isn't even a storyline! The paid version isn't much better either, although you do get to play some fun mini-games. Hopefully, it will go out of style like all MMORPGs eventually do.
  2. INCREDIBLE!I agree with you 100%. It's really sad how the principle at our school won't say "Merry Christmas" because she doesn't want to offend Jews, Muslims, etc. People really have become to obssessed with making sure everyone else is happy before we take care of ourselves. It is our country. On a side note, I heard that in southern Arizona the only language spoken is Spanish. There is no English anywhere. That's just sad that we've given away a part of our own country to another group of people...
  3. I get mine from books mostly. And other games, mostly RPGs. What happens is a see a good or underdeveloped idea in a book or game, and then I'll twist it a little bit to make it my own, then I build new stuff around it.
  4. Um... why would a security guard ask you to leave just because you kept going outside? Strangely, a similar thing happened to me on an IRC channel... I had to keep jumping off, and an op told me I would be banned if I didn't start idleing when I had to leave. It's a strange world we live in...
  5. Hm, I'll try writing a program with the effect you want to achieve, and then compare it to your code. Sorry I don't have time right now, but I'll put it on my to-do list
  6. Check this out: The Million Dollar Homepage. Seems like a good idea; anyone going to buy pixels? Notice from KuBi: Hmm...well, as Plenoptic already stated, copyied from http://forums.xisto.com/topic/30541-the-million-dollar-homepage-one-site-that-made-a-millionaire/=, also, a bad topic title, warning issued. Thread Closed.
  7. I wouldn't set a equal to y right off the bat. Try "char a;" rather than "char a='y';" and see if that helps.BTW, what is the purpose of your program? You enter a number, and then you get to "try again". Are you trying to make some sort of number guessing game?
  8. Didn't read the whole thread, but yes, I know quite a bit anout HTML, although I perfer to do my webpages with dynamic languages, like PHP, ASP.NET, Flash, etc. I learned the basics of HTML from an excellent onlin tutorial, and I got deep into it with Sams Teach Yourself HTML4 in 24 Hours. It's outdated, but a good book.
  9. I believe that there were browsers before Internet Explorer; they might have been text only though. I'll poke around on the government websites and see what I can find...
  10. I haven't installed Linux yet (I will soon, though), but I wanted to reply anyway. Linux is very different from windows. It's not meant for users who just want to play games and organzie their photos. It's for power users that want to dig deep into their machine and get the most out of it. They don't need GUIs; all they need is the CLI. If you don't like the way Linux does what it does, go back to Windows. No one is forcing you to use Linux.
  11. Does anyone know of the oldest website on the internet that is still up? It would be kind of interesting to visit.
  12. It will probably still be helpful to you. Some things may be outdated, though. Fortunately, the standard C/C++ syntax never changes, if ever.
  13. I've been working with C/C++ for a while, and I have no idea what you're talking about. The following is perfectly legal:#include <stdio.h>int main(){printf("Hello, world!");return 0;} When you run it in the command prompt, it will print Hello, world! and end.
