A Symphonic Rock/orchestra Song I Wrote A Month of Hard Work.
MotU2510 replied to Seidhrith's topic in Art & Creativity
I'm impressed. I thought that was bloomin' brilliant. I really do like the techno-ish guitar part. It really works well with the rest. I do have to agree with the person above me, a bit of guitar or something at the start would have spiced up the intro nicely and really made it something special. -
Making it a .txt file only would make it a LOT safer. Other than that it seems fine to me.If you did add a member login then perhaps you could add the abilty to open and edit already existing files. That would be very useful for someone who needs the ability to store and edit files on the web. I'd recommend adding a maximum file length as well, you wouldn't want someone to make a ridiculously long file which uses up all your webhost space.

Weirdest Thing In The World How could this be?
MotU2510 replied to TypoMage's topic in General Discussion
The likely-hood of that actually happening is incredbily small, however, it's not entirely impossible. It might have happened. Without further evidence or information I wouldn't like to hazard a guess as to the truthful-ness, but I would say I consider it unlikely to have really happened. -
Um, I personally wouldn't advise your registry JUST to do something as unessential as this. If you edit the registry incorrectly you WILL majorly screw up your computer. Windows will probably never load properly, and chances are you will lose all your documents. The registry is what makes Windows run, it tells it everythign it needs to know, allows programs to run and is basically something you shouldn't edit for anything too unimportant, like this.

If you want to have fun, then try Game Maker XP. It's free (although the paid for version has a few more features) and has an easy to use language called GML, or Game Maker Language.

That's a very clever script. The principles behind it could be applied to a lot of other things as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished version of this script. I can't see any errors in it, although I'm not exactly God's gift to PHP

I'm extremely impressed. The layout is clear and easy to read, the images are effective and fairly small, and the pages are organised logically. I like the colour scheme and it's impressively coded. It could, however, take a while to load for people with slower connections than mine. Enabling caching would make it better for people.

That's pretty cool. I might have a look at those, see about installing one of them on my computer, although I may just go for Apache, simply because it has the most features and is the most known web server technology.

I only use IE when I have to, like now while I'm on my school's computers. At home I only use Firefox. I find it's features (especially tabbed browsing) make it many times superior to IE. I also love the large base of add-ons you can download for it; I use about twenty different ones and after using them, I doubt I could cope not doing so.

Although this is great for stopping people trying to install XP illegally, it's pretty crappy for people trying to install it legally. Really, I don't think you should even have to phone Microsoft up to get the un-installation-deactivation (if that makes sense XP) code. I hope they think of something a bit better next time.

People Will Marry Robots In Future, Says Scientist!
MotU2510 replied to Soviet's topic in Science and Technology
Although I couldn't see myself in particular marrying a robot, I can understand that in thirty plus years people might. If robot's become as sophisticated as humans with developed personalities and characteristics, the differences between human and robots which would impeed such a thing from happening now, would become defunct. Sure, some people will object to others marrying a piece of metal, silicon and hydrolic fluids, but others will welcome it, fully embracing the hance to marry someone who knows exactly how to care for them, what to do when they get ill and will (probably) never cheat on them. -
Is Xml A Programming Language Or A Database Language?
MotU2510 replied to coolcat50's topic in Programming
It's a programming language, but it can't be used independantly of an interpretor. It can be used to store data, but it can also be used to display data and content. -
How To Prevent My Site From Being Hacked?
MotU2510 replied to satyaparija's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Also, you might want someone you trust to try your website for security holes. If they find any, they should be able to tell you how to sort them out. -
And if you wanted users to be able to store the resume this creates for them, you'd need to know SQL. But otherwise PHPor javascript coupled with XHTML and CSS should be fine.

World's Ugliest Website I believe I have found it
MotU2510 replied to BooZker's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Uuuhg, I think I'm going to throw up. I have never seen a worse website and I've seen some pretty awful ones. I have absolutely nothing against the subject of the website, but the design is hellish. I'd rather eat my own toes than look at that page for more than twenty seconds. Urgh. -
I taught myself a lot of it by creating pages in Dreamweaver's Design view, then looking at the source code and trying to edit it. I also had a lot of help from w3schools.com. Their tutorial was fantastic, I found it easily understandable to a complete newbie to HTML like I was.

Almost everyone agrees that Blender is the best free 3d animation prgram around, some people even go as far to say as it being better than some licensed software. Having seen some work done in Blender, I have to agree.

My favourite of those is definately the timed messages. I've wished many a time that I could set a message to be sent at a certain if, if I have to go somewhere, for instance. My next favourite is the second one, the business or contact cards sender, if you need to send somebody, for instance a colleague, someone else's details then that would be fantastic, especially if it offered the reciever an option to add to contacts.

That's pretty cool. It would be easier if you didn't use a GUI, but it's still pretty simple. Personally I'd have done something more like: def fib_nums_1() #defining the function count = 0 #We set the count variable to 0 as we have not yet done any production of the numbers a = 0 #Sets the first variable we require b = 1 #Sets the second necessary variable print b #We print the first of our numbers count = count + 1 #We add one to the count variable as we have processed and printed one fibonacci number c = a + b #We set the second number to be printed as the sum of the first two print c #Now we print it count = count + 1 #We add another one to the count variabledef fib_nums_2() #Now we are defining the second function of our program a = c + b print a count = count + 1 b = a + c print b count = count + 1 c = b + a count = count + 1fib_nums_1()while count != 100: #This obviously means that we will keep running the following code until the count variable is at 100, at which point we will have calculated and printed 100 fibonacci numbers fib_nums_2()

I've been looking for a way to do this in XP for a long time now without having to install software. So far I haven't found a way. It is possible to make a user accounts folders private, so no other users can see their files, but I don't think you can password protect a sub-folder of a users documents. Although I'm sure there is a way, it's not being obvious to me, if I find a way, I'll post it in here, if I remember XP.

I agree with MiniK; py2exe is one of the easiest Python compilers out there. It's really simple but very powerful.Oh, and I like the way the coding was done. I'm intrigued by your use of Tkinter, did it really need a GUI. I suppose it does look pretty good like that, although it's not something I myself would have done, mainly because I'm not very good with Tkinter.
