Although I've never personally used CFM properly, I did have the developer version installed on my computer at one stage. I soon realised it probably wasn't a good idea to try and learn CFML before HTML; consequently I gave up on it and never returned.
That really is fascinating. The applications of such a glueing method are quite endless. BTW, the link at the top doesn't work any more. It would seem that Yahoo! has removed it's article on Geckel. I had Blender installed on my computer before I managed to lose everything. I never actually got round to learning how to use it. After seeing what you can do with it, however, I think I'll have to re-install it and learn how to use it. I did open it up a few times, and I have to say, the UI was very good and logically laid out.
