Wireless snifferWireless Network SecurityI have a question asking for helpIs there any specific configuration I need to do in my PC to allow wireless network sniffing.I have 2 PC on my table one a Compact Presario and the other Fujitsu Lifebook S Series.The Fujitsu run XP professional 2002 service PAC 3 and the Compaq running XP home addition 2002 service PAC 3.I am using an MSN sniffer which works perfectly great on the Compaq PC, but show only my local MSN on the Fujitsu one. Hi! Have you tried the post at the top? It should work out for you. Or maybe you can try to press <Ctrl><Alt><F1> to get a console login (up to <F6>). <Ctrl><Alt><F7> to get back to X Window.

Hehehe.... this thread is old... Now there is UBUNTU! It's statistically the most downloaded Linux OS in the planet! Actually their site is visited twice than that of the second most popular (based on distrowatch). And the community has grown really big so any question you got regarding the distro will likely be in the forums because of the huge number of users!

Replying to xboxrulz He'll melt? I'm 13 years old, and I have been video game free for a month now, by my own choice. And I didn't just play games casually, I was a pro. I was in the top 3000+ on Battle Field: Bad Company leader boards (PS3,) I can play almost any song that you want me to on expert in Guitar Hero. I worshiped games. I played them at least 2 hours a day, and that's only because of school. I had subscriptions to EGM and GameInformer. And then I stopped. I realized that it was a total waste of time. I didn't want to waste away playing some stupid game for the rest of my life. There are some positives, however. I don't regret the 9 years I've spent with an awarance and appreciation of video games. I have really fast reflexes and I'm very good with most types of technology. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going amish or anything. I still use the computer, but only for Firefox, OpenOffice, iTunes, and AIM. I don't have any games on it though. I still use technology, but in the way it was meant to be used.

And this bytes when you are deep in PvP. LolOk... I run Windows XP SP2, just updated ALL my drivers, if it is a router configuration (I'm looking into it as you read this), I have yet to find the issue. RAM tests excellent (a pair of corsairs), Graphics card I think is the only thing that it could be... Eve uses MASSIVE graphics.. And that game does EVIL things to computers sometimes because of it.Maybe I should upgrade to the new GTX (NVidia Loyal).-reply by SnowMon

I'd recommend CentOS. It has the stability and security of Redhat Enterprise with the price of Fedora. Windows will never measure if what you need is a server OS. It is easy to setup but stability is of utmost importance which it doesn't have! Ease of installation by the way has greatly improved with Linux. Sorry i'm kind of biased but when there's too many programs or codes running in your server, there's too many chances for it to bog down. Not even considering the chances for it to get a virus and the crappy codes it has! Downtime costs money! You may also consider Ubuntu Server if you like the Debian flavor.

Damn Small Linux (DSL) is very good. But also quite a pain in the *bottom* installing to the hard drive. If you have a bit to spare, you can have slax or knoppix. With a lot more apps available. Knoppix is a very powerful flavor or linux. When you think of liveCD, you initially have one distro in mind - KNOPPIX! It was one very important troubleshooting tool for linux enthusiasts when just a few distros have liveCD versions. It has the ff. minimum requirements: -32mb of ram for text mode/96mb for graphics/128mb recommended with office apps -cdrom drive to run the whole OS from -486 or better

Every time a closed the connection window, the dns address came back. Recently I couldnt connect to the net (maybe their DNS server were down), so I started to search in the registry. I found the lines that contained that address, instead of my default. I typed in mine, but every time I closed regedit, it came back again Then I checked the permissions to that lines, and switched the permissions to deny on DhcpNameServer, and NameServer lines (these lines contains the wrong DNS address), for System processes (the last in the list). Also I switched permissions to allow for Administrator. Then finally I could replace these bastards' DNS address to mine, and it never changed back. And I have internet now (These new kind of SaH has a System process I guess, or something like that. I couldnt find it, but now DNS address switching has gone)P.S.: I tried every method I found on the net, I downloaded the spyware removal products you and others have recommended, but those were useless.Sorry for my english -reply by Peter
