Esnips.com - Great Storage Site Great Storage site
iGuest replied to Moolkye's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yes, esnips is roxing everybody's jox, but the new layout is very irritating and the tags are totally ignored when you do searches. Those are my only complaints. For example: When I want to search for only audio files, I can't. The layout HAS to show files from every category when you don't even need them. When you choose to go to the second page or something in the audio section, it either stays on the first page or goes to the second page and won't go anywhere else. Another example: When I search for files in general, most of the time the tags don't match and are loosely related to the search or not related at all. For people who actually want to search for files will be lost because of this and the only people that will stay with esnips are the ones that browse aimlessly for files. That is my only complaint. -reply by Taco Mage -
boozker I see where your coming from and your very right. Unfortuantley its not that simple, that bonus point you talk about or affirmitive action is just helping black people recieve jobs and fight systemic racism. You were mentioning that black people complain about the white man bringing them down. Well look at the field, black people are stereotyped daily as gangsters and rappers and drug dealers. Its funny because it actually cost the government less money to educate black people than to encarcerate them, so I always ask myself why, why would the government want to jail black people instead of giving them an education, why when a black person commits a crime on a white person, why does he have to serve so much more time in prison, than a white guy putting crime on a black man. THan people say well if black people don't want to get sterotyped than they should stop rapping about drugs, unfortunatley, that seems to be the only way a black man can succeed in this world, and another really funny fact is that the majority of people that listen to that gangster rap are actually white. Basically black people can only get jobs entertaning white audiences, lets look, basketball, football, rapping. In predominantly black low income schools, they spend more on funding sports than they do funding education. After all they have to be kept in line so they can be a good source of entertainment on the tv screen. And I'm not saying all white people are racist, that would be impossible, but lets look at todays media for example, everytime you look at the front page of yahoo and you see the picture of a black person, they never have anything good to say about them, why is it when a black man uses a drug or kills someone, why is it on the news so much more and amplified at such higher rates. And I don't blame a lot of white people for thinking about the minority as dirty and stupid, like I said thats how our media portrays it today, if a white person was to be educated on the truth about racism, this world would become much more peacfull and filled with understanding for eachother.I really have to give it for Mr. MLK, he stood preaching while white people threw rocks at his face and breaking all his bones, and still looked to solve this conflict in ways of only peace and socializing to come in harmony with our differences of only the color of our skin. I really enjoyed reading everybodys opinion, and we are all learning from eachother daily. I'm just saying next time you see a person of color or a minority, just try to look past the skin color. Look a little deeper at their personality and you might just make yourself a new friend. Regards to all my friends

ALIENWARE is a NIGHTMARE.Right out of the box I set up a AREA 51 750I $1700 desktop. It came with a Blue Ray Drive. After a hour of frustration I realized the computer had no operating system installed.Technical suport is a joke if you can understand them. Their return policy requires you to pay the fright plus 15% of the purchase price. So I installed the operating system and all the drivers with the drivers from the discs provided. I got the computer to work but I could not get the Blue Ray to play. After 2 hours on the phone, tech support told me I had to wait until they recieved "Power DVD 8" software because they built the computer without having the software to support the drive. I had to obtain other drivers and software to make it play. Also, they do not support DVI out to HDMI to your TV because they don't give you the SPDIF pass thru cable to connect your motherboard to the video card pass through connection to make the sound work. This is the worst company I have ever done business with. They tell you how they test their system before shipment- how can they? there was no operating system. They lie, when they royaly screw up - you pay. DON'T BUY ALIENWARE OR YOU WILL BE SORRY.-reply by pfinne

I hate smokersI Hate SmokersYou sure got a lot of hate. You should chill out. Hate is a very strong word. What if I said something like: Take up smoking, Die, and go to hell for your blind and broad judgements. Now, thats not nice. I don't even know you. Smile, Hate is just as bad for your heart & body as cigarettes and second hand smoke. Also, make sure you brush your teeth 3 times a day. Guild Wars Vs Wow Looking for players who have played both
iGuest replied to DjCalvin's topic in Computer Gaming
I think WoW is betterGuild Wars Vs WowThere was once a time when I played Guild Wars and thought that it was better. Guild Wars is still good but it has its flaws and is in fact not better in my opinion. One flaw being the level cap that is set at 20. Another being unable to interact with more than your party outside of a city or outpost. And one more being (and this could just be me doing something wrong) the lack of variety in weapons and armor. Some strong points that Guild Wars possesses is the fact that it's free and the PvP is outstanding in my opinion. However, WoW has a HUGE variety of weapons and armor, the PvP is still really good, the level cap is reachable but not rediculously low, the trade system is well developed (auction house being the primary example), the number of quests is decent, the development of your character as a class is really good, and lastly the whole opposing factions feature also adds an interesting spin on things. Bottom line: both games are good but it all comes down to the whole concept of "you get what you pay for." -reply by palindrome -

I can tell how to instal them but can you give me some links to download new heros? Installing SuperheroesSo you've successfully installed the Superhero Mod? Well congratulations! The next step is to add custom heroes. Before you begin, you are going to need to know a few things. First, you will need to know how to unzip the hero files. I recommend using WinZip because it is a fairly straight forward program. You can download it from http://www.winzip.de/. Open the .Zip file with WinZip. Inside you should see a list of files, if you don't, try saving the .Zip to your hard drive. Now, when a scripter creates a hero, he always uploads two types of files. The first type of file you find is the SMA. It will be named sh_heroname.Sma. Think of this file as the hero's source code. It is the raw code that is actually written by the scripter. When the scripter is happy with the way the code looks, he compiles it, bringing us to the second type of file. The AMX file is the file that is actually read by the AMX system. It has been translated into a code that the server understands. If you were to look at the AMX file with WordPad, you would be completely confused. There can be as many as three AMX files in the ZIP file, each with the same or a similar name (sh_heroname.Amx); however, these files are very different. If there is only one AMX file in your ZIP file, you can skip this paragraph. As you may know, there are three supported versions of AMX; AMX 9.8, AMX 9.9, and AMXX. You need to choose the hero file that corresponds to your version of AMX. If you run AMXX, you need the file that ends with AMXX (sh_heroname.Amxx). To see which version each AMX file goes with, scroll to the far right of the WinZip window until you see the PATH column. Under this column is listed either “amx98” or “amx.” amx98 corresponds to AMX 9.8 and amx corresponds to AMX 9.9. Select the AMX file that will be used on your server. If you installed AMX 9.8, take the hero's AMX file and place it in ROOTFOLDERcstrikeaddonsamxplugins. Then, in this folder, find the file plugins.Ini. Open it with WordPad and scroll down until you see the superhero section. Find the new hero's alphabetic position in the list of sh_hero.Amx entries and insert sh_heroname.Amx. E.G. Sh_agent.AmxSh_anubis.AmxSh_aquaman.AmxSh_batgirl.AmxSave the plugins.Ini file and exit WordPad.If you installed AMX 9.9, take the hero's AMX file and place it in ROOTFOLDERcstrikeaddonsamxplugins. Then, move to the folder ROOTFOLDERcstrikeaddonsamxconfig. Find the plugins.Ini file, open it with WordPad, and scroll down until you see the superhero section. Find the new hero's alphabetic position in the list of sh_hero.Amx entries and insert sh_heroname.Amx. E.G. Sh_agent.AmxSh_anubis.AmxSh_aquaman.AmxSh_batgirl.AmxSave the plugins.Ini file and exit WordPad.If you installed AMXX, take the hero's AMXX file and place it in ROOTFOLDERcstrikeaddonsamxmodxplugins. Then, move to the folder ROOTFOLDERcstrikeaddonsamxmodxconfigs. Find the plugins.Ini file, open it with WordPad, and scroll down until you see the superhero section. Find the new hero's alphabetic position in the list of sh_hero.Amxx entries and insert sh_heroname.Amxx. E.G.Sh_agent.AmxxSh_anubis.AmxxSh_aquaman.AmxxSh_batgirl.AmxxSave the plugins.Ini file and exit WordPad.Congratulations, the base hero is now installed. If there were no custom models or sound files included with your hero, you can stop reading. If the hero you just installed has a custom model or sound file, you will need to place it in the correct folder. Look at the install path in the WinZip window as described under the AMX file section. If there is no path listed, but a model is included, you are going to have to do a little detective work, jump to the next paragraph. Pretend you are installing Morpheus, a popular custom hero. Morpheus requires the file morpheus_mp5.Mdl to be installed. If you look at the install path in the WinZip window, you will see that the model must be placed in ROOTFOLDERcstrikemodelsshmod. Place morpheus_mp5.Mdl in that directory, and your hero is ready to go. You can stop reading now.So there was no Path listed, huh? Ok well go find some Excedrin, ‘cause this might get confusing. At the beginning of this tutorial, I told you that the SMA file is the scripter's code. You are going to have to find out where the scripter wanted the custom model or sound file to be placed. Open the SMA file using WordPad. You will see the SmallC code which dictates how the hero is to operate. The model's path might be included at the top of the SMA in a commented section, but that is probably not the case. You are going to have to find the precache function. The precache function tells your client to load the file in their memory. If the client doesn't have the required file, the precache function tells his computer to download it from your server. To locate the precache function, go to Edit > Find. In the Find dialog, type precache and click Find Next. Your computer should jump to the line that reads:public plugin_precache()This is the precache function's declaration. Below it you should see something like:precache_model("models/shmod/custom_model.Mdl")OrPrecache_sound("shmod/custom_sound.Wav")These lines tell you what directory the files need to go in. For this hero, custom_model.Mdl goes in ROOTFOLDER/cstrike/models/shmod/, and custom_sound.Wav goes in ROOTFOLDER/cstrike/sound/shmod/.Go try it out! Now, if you would like to customize your new hero's configuration variables (change its level setting, damage, etc.), open up its SMA. You will find a function near the top called plugin_init(); if you don't see it, do a search for init. This is the code that initializes the hero and defaults its settings. In this function you will find lines beginning with the register_cvar command.E.G.Register_cvar("heroname_level", "8" )Register_cvar("heroname_damagemult", "0.75" )In this example heroname_level and heroname_damagemult are two of the hero's cvars. 8 and .75 are their respective default values. To modify the hero's level, copy the level cvar heroname_level, and paste it in the superhero config file, shconfig.Cfg. The location of shconfig.Cfg depends on your version of AMX. For AMX9.8, it is located in ROOTFOLDERcstrikeaddonsamx. If you installed AMX9.9, try ROOTFOLDERcstrikeaddonsamxconfigshero. AMXMODX people should find it in ROOTFOLDERcstrikeaddonsamxmodxconfigs. The cvars should be set to your custom value. This is what a set of cvars should look like://HeronameHeroname_level 7Heroname_damagemult 1.25The // before Heroname keep AMX from trying to read that line, this is what people mean when they tell you to comment out a line. With the new cvars in your shconfig.Cfg file, the hero will be available at level 7 and their weapons will do 25 percent more damage.Save shconfig.Cfg and restart your server. Good luck!

Dungeons And Dragons 4th Edition Hear you thoughts about the new edition
iGuest replied to darkken's topic in Computer Gaming
question about the FighterDungeons And Dragons 4th EditionHi, I have a question : The Combat Challenge class feature of the fighter allows him (or her) to make a melee basic attack as an immediate interrupt to any ennemy who shifts or attack another character. Is this attack considered an opportunity attack ? (Wich would stop the shift, thanks to the Combat Superiority Class Feature, in addition of giving a bonus on the attack roll equal to the fighter's Wisdom modifier...) Thanks for answering ! And by the way, 4th edition is neat. It's different. Really different. Feels like a totaly new game to me, but really neat. I didn't think they'd come up with something better than the 3rd (and 3.5) edition... I don't think this edition makes the previous obselete, but it is sure worth buying and playing ! a debate on animal testingA Debate On Animal TestingReplying to FreedomOverdose I am very against animal testing of any kind. Recently I am against "Mars" brand of candy. For example they produce m&ms, Dove chocolate, Starburst, Skittles, Snickers, etc. They do animal testing that is completely unessasary. There was one test that was explained that they inject some sort of coco into a mouses heart make them swim through water with white paint mixed into it. They have to get to a platform, and if they make it there they just end up getting killed anyways. Now can you tell me why that test is needed? is any human going to be injecting coco into their heart and going for a swim in some white paint? didnt think so. Animals are not like humans. Why test on them when they cant tell you what is going on? they cant talk. They have different bodies. I'm one of the biggest animal lovers on this earth. I couldnt let anyone test on my rabbit or my dog, inject coco into my hamsters heart, make a coat out of my chinchilla or harm my love bird. If you have a pet and are for animal testing. Look at them and tell them that you wouldnt care if they were tested on. Animal testing is terrible, and one of the things that gets me raging mad and sick to my stomach. -reply by Holly

Airfare.com, Novatravel.com, Orbitz.com are they trustworthy?
iGuest replied to seanooi's topic in General Discussion
Airfare.com: To Be AvoidedAirfare.com, Novatravel.com, Orbitz.comI recently purchased two nonstop international tickets from airfare.Com. What a mistake.Approximately a month after the purchase, I contacted the airline for seating assignments. However, as the flight information I had been given by airfare.Com did not match an existing flight, I could not be assigned seats. The airline advised me to contact airfare.Com.When I reached them, I was told that the airline had changed the flight and that they would re-book me on a flight with a stop and a plane change. I explained that I had purchased a nonstop; had I wanted a stop and a plane change, I would not have gone through them. I asked why they had not informed me of a change earlier. What would have happened had I simply gone to the airport on the day of the flight? I would have had no flight at all.I explained that in view of the change, I wanted a refund. They said that might be possible; I was transferred to another employee (with the sort of holds and language issues that others have discussed). She took a different line--the tickets were non-refundable. Period.I replied that buying one item and receiving another was not ethical. The discussion grew heated but not profane. It ended when she hung up on me. A subsequent email to airfare.Com was never replied to.In sum, airfare.Com can provide low rates; however, airfare.Com and "customer service" is an oxymoron. Never have I dealt with travel industry people so entirely rude and aggressive. Their approach to customer service is like none I had experienced before in the United States. My credit card company (whose fraud division I contacted) noted that the original charge had been made to my card not by airfare.Com but by the airline. I contacted them; they explained that the original flight had been cancelled, but the same airline had a nonstop flight several hours later. As the reschedule involved more than an hour, if I wished, they would refund the ticket price in full. As the rescheduled time did not work for me, I requested a refund. I have received it. With no help, of course, from airfare.Com.Avoid the surprises; avoid the stress; avoid the time on the phone. Avoid airfare.Com -reply by Stuart -

opinonBest Laptop Brandwell I work with best buy in the computer department and from customer feedback the HPs I've sold to them have been solid. Also they come out with affordable, yet high end, laptops (can't say the same about the netbooks) and for those looking to stick with a > $500 budget, HPs (and Compaq) aren't bad either. Whether you're looking to surf the web, word proccess, play music, or edit videos, do some medium to medium-high end gaming, or using it for strictly business, they've proven they can dish out a good laptop or desktop with positive customer feedback. Another brand I usually show preferance to is a Toshibas, albeit they need to step their game up a little more, but the few that are comprable to HP counterparts (14.1" or 15.4") are pretty solid as well. The Toshiba E105-S1402 is a powerful and affordable ($799) laptop with very few flaws (the crappy speakers amongst them). Toshiba isn't pound for pound with HP in terms of overall quality, but their lower prices and high end specs are always appealing to budget burdoned customers. Now for Dell. Without having the full length of features as HP or Toshiba (lighscribe or labelflash, backlit keyboard, lightweight, and all the few other gems) but still being similarily priced, Dell usually falls a distant third (along with Sony). Speaking stricly of in-store products, Dell doens't offer a full variety to meet most of the average customers needs. Also, I've heard nothing but complaint after complaint when customers are dealing with Dell's Customer Service. Their Studio line shows promise, but otherwise I usually stray away from the mainstream Dell laptops. Sony is also in this category offering high end products at way over the top prices. They do have a better range of laptops. In the end you end up paying an extra 100 bucks to have Sony engraved on a laptop with the same specs as other competitors laptops for way way cheaper. I like the Blu-Ray idea (but I'd rather have a PS3), but I'm pretty skeptical at this point as to how long that will last. Apples are in a whole other category because the topic is keeping the laptop price under one grand, and only one of their laptops comes to mind which is the all white MacBook. It's still a solild choice if you can afford it and I doubt you'll have any regrets after you spend hours playing with Garage Band or talking it up with fellow Apple-using friends through iChat. Their publicity is amazing but don't let their tactical (yet ingenius) smear campaign against PCs brainwash you from PCs. I still outsell PCs to Macs 10:1 but Apple is heading in the right direction. Umm Asus makes gaming laptops, Lenovo and IBM are business (and expensive), Acer is cheap, and I still question how eMachines still is in business. Hope this helps.
