actually, the reserved bandwidth is for windows functions running in the background that require an internet connection, like windows update. reserving this bandwidth makes sure that downloading updates will not slow down your internet connection, but it is unnessicary if your comp is reasonably up to date.

New Verizon DSL Wireless Service: CanHook Xbox 360 To Laptop.I just got Verizon DSL Wireless Service and it came with an Actiontec GT704WGB Gateway. I cant seem to connect to XBOX Live because it comes up with a error message of "MTU of 1364 or higher needed." I was on the phone for 6hrs today between Actiontec, Verizon, and Microsoft. I cant be the only Verizon customer out there. Does anyone have a solution that they can share. I am thinking that I may have to buy a modem and use my old router (Linksys) which worked like a charm. Possible Work AroundNetbook And Dragon Naturally SpeakingReplying to BuffaloHelp I'm just going to add my two bits about this issue. I have a Dell Insprion Mini 10v Windows XP netbook running Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Essentials edition SP1 and I encountered the same issue with a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) refering to the OA012AFX.SYS file and error codes 0x0000008E (0x00000090, 0xF6322F91, 0xEC80DF64, 0x00000000). This is the first and looks like one of the few sites I have seen so far even mentioning this issue. I have been running Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 for about a week and have not noticed this problem because I have been using a Bluetooth Headset with my built in Bluetooth in the netbook. I know Bluetooth adapters are terrible with both audio and microphone and the Dragon Naturally software has made it clear that it has a low level of sound quality and a lot of noise, but I'm not trying to do anything fancy or difficult with it. I'll also point out that it is a $20 headset so it is not really up there on the quality scale, but once again it works for my purposes. Anyway, the Bluetooth Adapter apparently bypasses the Realtek HD builtin audio device and has no problems with the Dragon Naturally software. One day however, I decided I wanted to do something real quick and didn't want to take the time to dig out the Bluetooth headset adapter. That is when I ran into this issue with the BSOD and all. If you have Bluetooth on your netbook and you have a Bluetooth headset that works pretty good you might give it a try. I have never used a ordinary usb wireless headset before, but it might work too if it also bypasses the builtin audio device. By the way, so far I have updated my audio drivers and that did not fix the issue. Also, I probably won't check back with this thread again. spilled OJ on keyboard then water...What Do You Do If You Spill Liquid Onto Your Laptop?I recently spilled oj on my laptop- samsung r522 I tilted it, and wiped the keyboard clean. The keys were sticky and hard to press down, but eveything was fine. I was stupid enought to use drops of water to clean out the dried OJ... And of course the keys were no longer sticky... But now its non-functional. It keeps presing keys even when I don't touch the keyboard, and when I type the wrong letter comes out... I have been able to turn it on. seems like only the keyboard is messed up. But I'm scared that it will further damage my computer. Last night I let it sit upside down and took out the battery. This morning I took the laptop out to look for technicians... I've turned it on a couple of times, and one time it slept after booting up, but it still turned on fine after. I hope its not going to die on me. Just now I decided to shut off my computer, took out the battery and turn it upside down, and will leave it there a couple of days to dry up completely, hopefully draining the liquid from the keyboard's rubber membrane... not sure when I should turn it back on, any more fixes to ensure success? thanks -reply by Kenny

Hi everyone,I have a optiarc dvd+-RW AD-7640A ATA Device that had alway worked fine. Lately I can't play DVD's, because when a DVD is in the drive, all my software fails to recognize that anything is in the drive.If I put a blank DVD in, I can burn DVD images all day long. It also recognizes CDs and autoruns them. I've tried several different DVD playing softwares and none will notice that a DVD is in the drive.Windows Explorer does not see anything in the drive either, when I click on the drive letter, I can explore but nothing appears in the window.I've uninstalled the driver and rebooted. The 'New hardware wizard' finds and installs the device. The troubleshooter under computer management says the drive is working properly. I've reinstalled the latest ASAPI and no change.I'm at my wits end here. I'm thinking that its a software/config problem, since I can burn dvd's and read CD's. This has been a phenomenal drive and I really need to get it working again.Thanks a million times in advance for any help you can give me.Sincerely
