Alright, I'm not a big debater on forums, but you are incorrect....I will tell you why in the nicest way that I can... 1. The DS did not start in the US, the Gamecube DID...no *BLEEP* that the LAUNCH PRICE would be cheaper than the Gamecube....it's a system versus a handheld....a handheld with that GAY *bottom* TOUCH SCREEN. Go figure Einstein. 2.Touch screens aren't new? Tell me the last hand held console you have that is modified with a touch screen? What year did it come out?...Well *BLEEP*....Go imagine that. 3.The original Gameboy was a classic, it withstood SOME time, but even that got old. I give it 2 months before the *BLEEP* out now is fried... And whatever the case is, ITS STILL A REMAKE....STILL A MARKETING BENEFIT. Therefore your comment was completely irrelated to mine, way to go champ. With that I end this post. I am right and you are wrong. As bad as that sucks for you, that's the way it has to be.

Hmm, the term we used is whipped, but it's simple. He likes her, a lot...so in a sense she gives him some kind of security and he feels as though its worth it to take her *BLEEP* to get that security...however, I say you shouldn't do anything and here's why...People can live unhappily for some time, but eventually the bad will begin to outweigh the good...even for him. Let's face it, he can't stay in a bad relationship forever, and will eventually put himself first...I'm a chump ...trust me, I've been used too many times to count. Simply because I'm sensetive, and am not good at hurting other peoples feelings... I know I know, sounds like an excuse...here's the funny thing...IT IS. And we know they're excuses. He knows hes being used, but he simply doesn't care. He thinks it's worth the trade for the feeling of security that he's recieving...all you can do is give him space and time..he'll figure it out.

I come from a not so great environment...in other words, I didn't grow up in the best conditions. Therefore, I never really had anyone.I met a guy named Trey in school about 2 years ago. We've been on and off for a year and 2 months. While I think that he is who I'm supposed to be with, I very highly doubt that he feels the same way. We've broken up twice, for other females, which makes me almost certain that he can't see staying with me.The first time that we broke up, I held on..TIGHT. I thought it wasn't going to ever get better, but it did and I eventually started dating someone else. Trey found out and decided that he didn't want to talk to me anymore because of that, so we quit talking. I got better a lot faster, when he wasn't always in my face....The second time we broke up, I decided that I was going to move, get out of here, and once again quit talking to him....Needless to say we got back together and I made it clear that if he ever chose to leave again it better be a very stable decision...because he would not be allowed to change his mind again. Once gone, I'm gone.I know it sucks *bottom*,and you're sick of hearing it..I know I was..but you have to let go...don't talk to him, lay in bed, ball up and cry, take 3 hour showers, and cry, listen to songs that remind you of him, write letters to him just to ball em up and start over...I did...and it helped. You have to let it hurt. IF you're meant to be, he'll be back.I'm not saying quit caring, or erase him...but give yourself room to heal. And then maybe consider the friends thing. There's no use in him having everything he wants, so it's either you are her...you need to put your foot down...HARD.Good luck.

I would assume that if your account were suspended, that you would have a partial ban on other parts of the site as well, say for instance the forums, maybe the server is just down...contact an admin, they can probably help more than a thread.

A Highly Controversial Topic: The Death Penalty.
iGuest replied to UnheroicHero's topic in General Discussion
Sigh..I'm very unsure of how I feel about the death penalty.... While I can see why it is justified, I find no right in anyone being able to take another persons life...This makes it complicated...however, in the chance that I had to decide, I say the death penalty SHOULD NOT OCCUR.It is irrational, and just as much of a murder as the other person had commited. No, I'm not a religious person, "God" does not come to mind when I think of this, however, life is irreplacable, and I disagree with the Topic post...This person stated that "Killers do not value THEIR lives"...WRONG...Killers do not value other lives, if it is there own they didn't value, and they hold the capability of taking another persons life, it is my strong belief that they have just as much power to commit suicide. Therefore, since they don't, they obviously do value their lives. Murder is wrong, to counteract it with more murder and call it right is hypocricy..I do not support it. -
Ok, so I'm a Halo 2 player, and I'm a chick. While I'm not great at the game I'm learning, and even I can say that the Joy Frag gets a whopping ZERO on the effeciency meter. It was a *BLEEP* concept to think that it would be some great invention to play H2 with your keyboard and mouse, for *BLEEP*s sake, the handling is AWFUL..Not to mention, this hunk of *BLEEP* runs for somewhere around fifty bucks. To put the cherry on the pie, The keys that you use from the keyboard, are the most insufficent ones they could possibly think of. Great. With that, I'm pretty much telling you..DONT buy a Joy Frag...I can think of a lot more useful things for fifty bucks.(Add opinion below this post )

Same code, different method, overboard with checking for problems. Also, decided to remove adding the file if not found, due to the new file being created, it would be owned by the server's username than your user, which means if it's not owned by you, you'll have problems, you should instead manually create this file yourself and set the permissions. Also checked whether the file is readabe/writable, if not you'll need to set permissions yourself as well. Decided to change the function name to something more appropriate too and also display a success message when completed. Changed the method, by reading the file in as an array too. Similar code, overboard fail checking, same results. <?phpfunction prepend($file, $data){ if(!is_writable($file) || !is_readable($file)) if(!file_exists($file)) die('Error: File not found (create file)'); if(!chmod($file, 0666)) die('Error: File not readable/writable (chmod 0666)'); if(!$old_data = file($file)) die('Error: Storing array of file'); if(!$fh = fopen($file, 'w')) die('Error: Opening file for writing'); if(!fwrite($fh, $data, strlen($data))) die('Error: Writing to file'); foreach($old_data as $value) if(!fwrite($fh, $value, strlen($value))) die('Error: Restoring old data'); if(!fclose($fh)) die('Error: Closing handler');}$filename = 'access.log';$entry = gmdate('M d, Y H:i:s T') . ': ' . $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] . ': ' . $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] . "\n";prepend($filename, $entry);echo 'Updating file successful';?> I think PHP5 is more promising, and will definitely lessen the amount of code, but uncertain about the prepending to files, it still seems this is a problem. Things that could be worked on is the type of entry data, checking the data, trimming spaces, escaping slashes, making sure that it is reading to the end of line, etc. Could possibly break it down into more functions, or even turn it into a class. Cheers, MC

I just wanted to fix up the above a bit and make it more functional with more error checking and using the global function $_SERVER instead of getenv, since it works better. <?phpfunction access_log($log, $new_entry){ if(!file_exists($log)) touch($log); if(!$fh = @fopen($log, 'r')) die('Error: Failed to open file for reading.'); $old_entry = fread($fh, filesize($log)); fclose($fh); $new_log = $new_entry . $old_entry; if(!$fh2 = @fopen($log, 'w')) die('Error: Failed to open file for writing.'); fwrite($fh2, $new_log, strlen($new_log)); fclose($fh2);}$filename = 'access.log';$entry = gmdate('M d, Y H:i:s T') . ': ' . $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] . ': ' . $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] . "\n";access_log($filename, $entry);?> Just to explain it: We'll skip the function for now and start with our filename and entry, this declares the name of our file and the new data to be inputted, which is a timestamp, IP address and browser agent information. This information then gets sent off in our function. Our function access_log that will accept two inputs, the filename and the new data to be entered in. We check if the file exists, if not we create it. We then open the file for reading, if it fails, we exit the program leaving a message about it not being able to be opened for reading, if the error suggests it's reading we know where it's failing at for debugging. We then store our old entries by reading it up to the last byte into a string. We now close the handler since we no longer need to have the file opened. We now create a new string using our new data and adding onto it the old data from the string we stored. If you're concerned about memory storage, we could unset the old_entry variable now that we've stored it in new_log. Now we open a file for writing, and check whether it opens or not, if not, we exit the programing stating that the file could not be opened for writing, the error suggests it's the writing, so we know where it's failing if we need to debug the code. We then write the new_log into our file, by using the new file handler we use for writing, we also state the length of what we're writing, not necessarily needed, but for binary safe methods, it is, and if you make this a habit, you'll not be wrong for whatever method you do use. We then finish up by closing the function, it returns back to where the script left off, since there's nothing more left, the script has finished. I too don't know of any other way of writing to the beginning of a file without overwriting it. Thought maybe writing a new file and adding the old file onto the end of it, but it's just the same as above without the extra file, also thought maybe a pattern match and replace method, but again, you'll be overwriting while still appending the old data on the end. If anyone does come up with a better method, or some ideas that could work, It would be good to know. Cheers, MC

I never tested the installer out, well, my reason was my Photoshop 7 on my computer already existed and pretty much up2date, so I didn't think about installing straight from the CD. I will test it out though, I'm just wondering how updates will go with it.I'll test it out right now and see how things go. I'll post back the results.Cheers,MC

You Might Get A Kick Out Of This I loved it

hahaha, very amusing. thanks for the laugh. -
Personally I'm not a big fan of any handheld game system and here's why:1. They're all way overpriced, even if the quality is good, it's not worth it considering you have to supply everything else for it too.2. They've began this new wave of technology...GAY. The DS..touch screen...The PSP...UMD discs....3.They get old fast. Take for instance, the Gameboy. They tried to make that another marketing benefit...and FAILED. Hence the Gameboy Color...womp womp.4. THEY SUCK AND THE HANDLING TECH ON A HANDHELD MAKES FOR A CRAPPY SUCCESSION IN ANY GAME.Hrm, but that's just personal opinion ...Everyone has there own thing I suppose.

Actually on the contrare to the last post, that is the real picture of the PS3..in all it's glory. So it's ugly, and it'll probably suck balls. So did the PSP....the human race will cope without another pointless game system...I'm sure of it. I say buy a Reg Nintendo, Mario's Duck Hunt, a little orange plastic gun, and move on.

Oh you mean you're not being paid? hehe jokesI took up this position out of volunteering to help, plus the forums were pretty new then and it seemed like a good idea to be involved in the community as it was becoming quite hard to keep everything in order. The payment out of it, I guess you get respect and someone to look up to, and you get to make (break) the rules! (joking the breaking part)MC

Hi, well I've tried coping with The GIMP but could never get it to make smaller compressed file sizes, so I had to cheat and use Adobe Photoshop 7, however, I use to switch over to Windows to do this, and it was only for compressing the file, so I thought, how about getting Adobe Photoshop 7 working with Linux (no, I am not kidding!), well here's my steps on how to do this. (tested and verified that it works, not completely tested though). Also working off by memory so I do apologise if some things aren't correct, but I know it's near enough that you should be able to work it out. What you may need:CD-Writer, (maybe)Windows, (needed!)Adobe Photoshop 7 CD (well, if you didn't how could you do this?) (needed!)A blank CD, (maybe)A Printer, (maybe)NTFS Access from Linux on Dual Boot machines (maybe)WINE (needed!)So first of all we need access to a Windows machine, I'm dual booting, with Windows XP and Fedora Core 3, I've also got NTFS access for Linux, so copying the files over wasn't hard at all and is much quicker than the other methods I will suggest.First install Photoshop 7 on C:, could be any other drive but we've got to change it to match C: in the registry information, so if you've already got an installation, like I had residing on H:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 7 then not to worry as it's quite simple to make the change. Now that you've installed it, first run it once, just so registry information gets updated then close it. Now we have to go into the registry and export it. So open up the run dialog box by either Start | Run or WinKey + R and type regedit. We should now be in the Registry Editor program, we must now look for \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 7.0\ it should be highlighted we will now export it, export it to your documents as adobe.reg, now if you aren't dual booting with NTFS access then still follow these instructions but I'll tell you when you have to change it.Right click on abode.reg and edit it, Select All the text (Ctrl + A) then Copy it (Ctrl + C).Open up a new notepad document and Paste (Ctrl + V) and save as adobe.txt (why did we do this?, well it saves editting the binary, since this is what a .reg file is when exported, and I had to edit it with a hex editor on linux, so I'm saving you time by doing it this way)Now the changes for those without dual booting or NTFS access, (this is however if you're using NTFS, if you're using FAT32 then you should be fine, however my scope does not cover mounting drives, etc, (maybe later) but for now it's getting PS7 working)You have two options, print out the adobe.txt file, which means you'll have to type things in manually or copy it onto CDR in which I'm about to explain.Let me explain what I'm going to do, I'm going to copy the contents of the /Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop 7 directory onto CD, other methods could be NTFS/FAT32 access to your drive and then copy it to the right location or burning this onto CDR and transferring it this way and even networking between PCs, I'll leave it up to you, oh and if you're not printing the adobe.txt file out, then also add that into your CDR.So now we should have our adobe.txt file and Directory of Photoshop 7 somewhere, either on CD or on hard drive. We boot back over into Linux, open up console and browse through our User Directory's wine location which should be "~/.wine/c_drive/Program Files" here we create a new directory mkdir -p Adobe, we now copy the Photoshop 7 directory into "~/.wine/c_drive/Program Files/Adobe/" we then go back to the root of our wine location ~/.wine and edit the system.reg file, but first we must ammend out text file.We must remove all instances of "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\", we must make sure that our \ (slashes) are doubled so we replace \ with \\ on some editors you may need to replace \ with \\\\ because you need to escape it first, we must replace SOFTWARE with Software (not sure if we had to but for consistency sake I did). Now select all and copy it.So now we edit system.reg, just scroll to the bottom and add our adobe.txt just by pasting it inside the file, don't worry after wine run's it'll sort this file out.Now all we got to do is run wine, from console type:/usr/bin/wine /home/<USERNAME>/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Adobe/Photoshop\ 7.0/Photoshop.exeWe can create a shortcut for this but I'll let you choose on how to do that, Hint: make sure it's ran in Terminal mode.Hope this works well for other people.Cheers,MC
