Short of getting any tweaks or cfg's id say dump windows vista and settle for xp. Vista needs a lot of resources to run and is only worthwhile on a very good computer. With a pc of your specs vista is not worth it and is holding you back .

You're right that they might have a slow internet connection, but should they be punished because a company says even though your paid top dollar for this cd, you now have to activate it. More people are leaving their pc keyboards and heading for the game boxes because of companies like valve. I myself will not purchase another game associated with them. I'm tired of jumping through hoops. And if this is such a great system to stop thieft, why are there prices so high? I'm agreeing with what most people are saying here. With the the news that was posted in the OP, it seems that Blu-Ray has become the most likely technology to become the standard HD format a few years from now, but I'm not prepared to buy into one yet. And just because it may be the 'better' choice, it doesn't mean it will necessarily win out. And buying a Blu-Ray drive now is just a bad idea, given the prices and the lack of content available at the moment.
