Yes, all the posts are stored in the database along with all other data.If things go wrong, we just download SMF 1.0.5 again and install and restore the backup. The update will override all your files, but getting 1.0 files is easy, just re-download them.Add me to MSNM if you wish, trekkie101@gmail.com

Yeah, a database backup is basically all that is needed to go back. Now, its just upload the SMF 1.1 "Upgrade" package! http://download.simplemachines.org/ that one! through FTP, so download it, unzip, upload, and then run upgrade.php in your browser. And you should then be updated to SMF 1.1, a quick jump to your package manager and apply all your mods, and thats you. Let me know of the result, Good Luck!

Are Verizon strict about useage, and bandwidth limits? Also are you using firefox? If they are, its likely they dont like extra ports open, youll probably find FTP slow in this case.If its internet explorer, it has a habit of just being annoying.

When you upload the SMF 1.1 contents, via FTP (No package manager update available) it will overwrite your source files, this will kill the mods, but re-installation should be a breeze, I only recomended you held off, if you werent comfortable re-adding mods, as you may have to again when the final version comes out of beta, although of that im really not sure. http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=60 This mod, if this is the one you mean, yes its 1.1 ready and can be used http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=36 for Gmaes/Arcade is compatable also The PHP 4.4.0 Compatability Update, is for a slight change, if Xisto updates to PHP 4.4.0 instead of 4.3.11 then theres a line in SMF that needs changed for it to function or else you get a lot of errors, If you update to 1.1B3 though youll be fine without the patch. Sometimes the mod thing becomes a bit screwey, after the update to 1.1B3 that should be sorted.

Does Astahost Accept Sites In Any Language ?
Trekkie101 replied to afzoff's topic in Web Hosting Support
European languages are accepted, so basically most languages are accepted.I believe that was long ago though, Generally any language will be taken now. -
OpaQues already given the answer.Astahost has many customers, so to keep the websites running fast and loading at good speeds, theres prioritys on what can send data and at what speed. Obviously accessing data is top priority, so if the server has a lot of traffic to keep it serving at good speed, it allots more of the connection to Apache (The Web Server) and less to cPanel and its processes as cPanel isnt used as much as apache. So you can wait until a lot traffic time, dunno when, but I find early in my morning its high traffic (im GMT (UK)) and at nught its a lot faster.

Troubles Instaling Phpbb Using Cpanel/fantastico
Trekkie101 replied to Giniu's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Thats just chmods gone wrong.Best idea is to install it yourself, ive posted a guide for installing SMF, just follow that but differ on the forum system and certain details on install, its basically the same process, but you may need to chmod install and contrib to 777 in phpBB once uploaded. Also, try chmodding your foler called TMP in your FTP root to 777, you may find it works then. -
Disk Space Problem A couple of problems with disk space.
Trekkie101 replied to infamousflame's topic in Web Hosting Support
The disk quota checker is VERY resource heavy, especially on the CPU, so for the best idea and efficiency it was disabled, its run periodically now, so if you can just keep an eye on your disk useage some other way, usually you can guesstimate how much your using, and the "Disk Useage" tab should help you by telling you how much is in each directory. -
General Problem Using Account i need help :P
Trekkie101 replied to wykurz's topic in Web Hosting Support
ftp.69.50.168.69 will work, if you sue your username and password.Although bind shouldnt fail like that, that maybe explains why I cant access your domain. -
From my site on Panda (One of the hosting servers) [Page created in 0.069 seconds with 10 queries.]Working as fast as ever, could you paste me your server IP's when you get access, just put <?php phpinfo; ?> in a file, and then give me a link, call it phpinfo.php Thanks.

1. The upgrade will kill them completely, there isnt a way of saving them. 2. Either check the thread regarding the mod and usually they have been tested and reported either broken or alive. Else I can set up a test forum for you to play about on, or you can set up a test forum for yourself.3. Admin -> Packages -> Cleanup Permissions -> All are files writable. -> Go4. As above, its now included in the standard install for ease of use.Ill have to congradulate Oldiesmann on MSNM next time I see him

Question About Blocking Msn In Linux
Trekkie101 replied to jedipi's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Theres a LOT more servers than that, over 200 if im right. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Run that, it'll give you a list and allow you to chose a server if you wanted. -
Just delete the language packs from the Themes folder, its as simple as that
-
Shouldnt have to, try chmodding to 777.If not, try the WWW folder, does it lead anywhere?
-
phpBB by any chance? Its pretty useless at helping search bots find anything.
-

Another Exploit In Phpbb 2.0.17 ...
Trekkie101 replied to GM-University1405241492's topic in Security issues & Exploits
http://www.simplemachines.org/ - Convert Today, to a More Secure and Better BBS system -Sorry for plug-Right, Another phpBB flaw, it took them about a week to patch this one, and its been public knowledge it existed. And you know what makes me ever madder, is that ONLY NOW have they decided to audit phpBB's security. But I thought they said phpBB 3 was JUST around the corner, what did it do, stop for a bagel? Come on phpBB, either get it sorted, or tell your users to switch. -
http://forums.xisto.com/topic/82547-topic/?findpost=1064293945 Has the answers you need I believe it just needs to be called into the forum.
