Hey, I tried going to the xisto menu on the top right of the forums and the server/network status link doesnt work, it leads to: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I get, The requested URL /helpdesk/index.php was not found on this server. Is this a out-dated link?

Hey guys, im having trouble parking my domain:http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ anybody help me with this? I have no idea what to put in the domain manager, but when i try a couple things i usually get this error:Error from park wrapper: Using nameservers with the following IPs: 69.25.142.42,216.52.184.248,63.251.92.200,69.64.145.225,70.42.37.7 Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. ya, also, even though you create a database from mysql databases, you can still edit and fix databases through phpMyAdmin

i talked to alex, he said i need to connect to the database in the else statement. I'll try both when the cpanel works again for me, I just need to know about the leader thing though. Like the user who registers the clan, gets their username put into the database, without filling out a line for it: how can I do that?

theres nothing wrong with my initial permissions I set up. The account I set up for this database is, evolved_creation (i ended up just using this database for everything). However, when I login, and view this page, it says theres no password for the user nobody? which confuses me.

basically, learn HTML. First of, after that, go to your FILE MANAGER in your control panel (cpanel). Next, go to public_html. Click create file, you probably wanna start off with index.html (anything with index first, will be your HOME PAGE) index.html, index.php, etc will automatically be your first page. Enter your html there. Now if you want a REALLY easy website, just type text, itll be white background with text. IF you want a nicer website, search google for w3schools, and learn html, thats the BEST way I can tell you.

o ok. i guess i was just expecting that since you can usually (at least from what ive usesd in the past) php in html, or something to that extent. Oh well thank you for that, woulda taken me awhile to figure out how to do it like that, I was kinda guessing it, but didn't exactly know how. Thank you guys I'm testing it now. now last thing i need to know, how would i take note of who is creating the clan (leader name). Would it be in insert.php? (this is the function page for the forms), since it should insert the name into the database? if so how can i do this? if you need me to post the code i can. ok, i did all the things and things to try etc, but i get the following error (note im logged in, when im not logged in, it works fine, as in it takes you to the login page) anybodfy know how to fix it?

ok when i try and access the page i want, iget the following error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/evolved/public_html/clans/create.php on line 29 however, my page looks like this: does anybody know what could be wrong? Basically this page is trying to create a clan, but you must be logged in, so it checks to make sure you are logged in. For some reason, it works with echo and text between the things, but doesn't work when i put the form in there.....the form works without the other code too...

what do you think about like...members though like. Lets say, i have a usergroup table, and a clanmember title. Do you think it would be alright for this part, if I were to use usernames under the clan members, yet have a users table too for registered users? would that make much sense?

oooh thats sneeky little man....never thought of that, so what you mean, is like I add a table like... clanmembers id clanid username rank etc? hmm thanks hopefully i can get this randomization script working then. Haven't really tried it just yet.

hmm the biggest thing im having a trouble grasping is, would it be easier to have one database, for the whole site, and multiple tables, or many databases, for more organization. If i were to do the second one, would it work to have transfers from databases, and to connect to two different databases on one thing? I think I'll go towards the first one, where theres all the user info, clan info etc. Also, I can't grasp how I will show like the members in a clan. I don't really know at all how I'd do that, I like your set up jl, I might go with that, but I just don't see how I could work the members in a clan in. Unless I'd create a new table for every clan, which in that case that would take a lot of database space wouldn't it?Also, the system will run on a HONESTY system. Where, both teams report the scores after all 3 matches have been played. Clan 1Round one: (scores)Round Two: (scores)Round three: (scores)Clan 2same thingif something is clashing like the scores are different, a email will be sent (this I can probably do) and a administrator checks bungie.net for true game records. If one clan doesn't do the scores in within two hours of the first clan to put theirs in, it automatically goes as a win for the first team (or basically whatever they got)Hopefully this might be a little more detailed when it comes to the outcome of a match. However, for the clan challenges. Basically, on the forums they post a topic, another clan accepts, and then the clan sends the other clan a clan invitation. The invitation will be a generated message, they say what time they want etc, and the other clan accepts. The clan challenge will show up on both clan's recent games, however outcome will be a - . Until the game is done, and over with. Then itll say W for win L for loss. When the clans do it, the same thing will show up next to recent games, next to the - itll say Details, itll show the following somewhat:Round one: [Gametype] on [map] - [outcome here]Round two: etcRound three: etcand basically that. Later I'll probably add where it deletes this info after 48 hours, and puts it in their record etc. Does this help you ?

Anyways, what I would do (if i was in this situation, and im going out with a girl, etc etc) I would definatly go up to your boyfriend and say you just want to be friends, and that you like somebody else now, and it wouldn't be fair to go out with you anymore because I like this other guy. No matter how you do it, it'll hurt him, I'm definatly not gonna lie. However, if you say it this way, half of the guys will definatly stay friends with you even if you were going out with him before, itll take a couple weeks, or months, but itll happen better then saying its over. hmm, do you think id be able to do a insert command? like...i would randomize it, and then, it would insert it into the database? such as a registration code would? (not talking about login or anything) like do you get what I mean? Im wondering if that would/could even work. It would be somewhat complicated though. Not this portion, but displaying the information, however i think it wouldnt be too hard. It randomizes two things, Map played on, and Gametype. Now, this is not actually starting a game or w/e. THis is for a halo 3 clan thing. It chooses from the gametype database i made, which gametype and which map. Then it displays You will play Round 1: [gametype] on [map]Round 2: [gametype] on [map]Round 3: [gametype] on [map]Now, I really don't need the random gametype part, as itll be likeRound 1: Team slayer on [random map]etc, but for round 3 i'll need the random gametype. I'll probably keep the info on a table or something in mysql or w/e, and ill try and delete it when I can or something so ya. Is there anyway I can do this?

To be honest, I agree it is a little close to the constitution, yet its not really against what the constitution, the constitution clearly says, all people should have the right to their choice of religion. However, it also says, that people can share their religion with others, as long as it doesn't hurt anybody else's rights. Technically, its not really infringing on anybody's rights. You don't really need to beleive what it says. Its also something that started in the days when america was starting, its basically a tradition, if people can live with it for a couple hundred years, why can't they live with it now? I do beleive it should be gotten rid of, but thats my own personal preference, its just causing too much trouble with the petitions and such, that they should just get rid of it. Its just a couple words on a peice of paper/coin, that is used to trade for goods.

very simple task, that many people prefer not to use. I agree the scrolling becomes a pain, but when it is used right, it is very effective and nice looking. I like to use it for news and such, like on the front page for news. ALso, its eeasy for when you don't want a page to reload everytime they click on the navigation, its really effective for navigation and banners that don't need to load every time they go to a new page, which allows faster viewing of the webpage.

Haha, sorry I gotta laugh at this, not you, but your friend. So, what I can tell from your 'friend'. She needs myspace to "pick up" guys? Thats kinda sad. Also, do these guys actually see her once innawhile away from myspace? Because sad to say it, some girls (not all) seem to take really good pictures of themself, and when you see them in public, their not so hot as people would think. Also another thing, I think that girls when it comes to how pretty another girl is, they are either TOO nice if their friends, or TOO harsh. I know you could really be saying oh my lord she is really pretty, but at least my school, girls say that about each other all the time when their not even that hot. So ya, thats just my opinion abotu how girls work. Really though, it shouldn't bother you. I'm not trying to be mean to your friend or you, but I'm just saying, if guys would rather like her then you, it should be fine, I mean you can't force somebody to like you, and if your in high school, thats the way high school works, and if your in middle school, then just wait to high school, trust me, middle school is better then elementary, and high school is better then middle school, theres always new people to meet!
