Make Image Change When Hovered W/o Flash? How?
snlildude87 replied to PHPtech's topic in Web Hosting Support
Indeed there is, PHPtech! This is what I do on my website on the pages that I want a rollover image: 1. Create a blank file named rollover.js 2. Move rollover.js to the same folder/directory as the html file you want the rollover picture to show 3. Open rollover.js 4. Copy and paste the following code to rollover.js: img = new Image();img.src = "yourimage.jpg";Replace "yourimage.jpg" with the name of your image 5. Save rollover.js 6. Open the html file/page that you want the rollover picture to be in 7. Copy and paste the following code between the <head></head> tags in the html file: <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript" src="rollover.js"></script>8. Copy and paste the following code to your html file: <a href="link_to_go_to_when_clicked.html" onmouseover="img.src='your_mouse_over_picture.jpg';" onmouseout="img.src='normal_picture.jpg';"><img src="normal_picture.jpg" border="0" name="img"></a>*Replace link_to_go_to_when_clicked.html with the page to go to when your rollover image is clicked. If you don't want a link, simply remove the <a></a> tags surrounding the rollover picture. *Replace your_mouse_over_picture.jpg with the picture you want to show when your mouse is hovering over the picture (the normal picture) *Replace normal_picture.jpg with the picture to show when your mouse is NOT over the picture. If you need more help, PM me! -
20?! But...but...but...how can that be?? You're so friendly which shows through your excessive use of smilies

Hehe, I believe that's a reference to an episode on the comedy Friends when Chandler peed on Monica's leg after she got bitten with a jellyfish. Originally, Joey was asked to do the job, but he got "stage fright," so the job was left to Chandler. This makes a lot of sense because the two (Chandler and Monica) ended up marrying in the series.

BAM! 70! I'll only be a good friend if you've known me for a while and put up with all my weirdness.

How Do You Make A .avi File Into A .gif
snlildude87 replied to spawn_syxx9's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Wow. You do know that converting .avi files to .gif would result in a HUGE gif file, right? I have just the program you need, spawn_syxx9 - the program is called Ulead GIF Animator. After downloading, open your avi file. Then, simply resave it as a gif file, and you're done! -
Eminem Or 50 Cent which do u like better?
snlildude87 replied to truman69's topic in Art & Creativity
Definately Eminem. I have almost all the songs made by Eminem on my computer now. One time, I decided to listen to 50 Cent because I like three of his songs (P.I.M.P., In Da Club, and Place To Go), but I really don't like his songs because he pronounces words incoherently. -
elevenmil, you have to make a new index.html or index.htm. You can program the HTML for any of the two files on your desktop. When you're done, go to your cPanel (the URL should be http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/). In cPanel, select File Manager, and a pop-up should pop up. In there, click on the FOLDER ICON next to "www" (DON'T click on the WORD "www"). Then, make sure you delete the default index.html file there (the index.html file provided to you by Xisto). Then click "Upload File(s)" - this has a big up arrow next to it. Then, you will be brought to a page with a lot of text boxes and buttons. Click on "Browse" (any button will do). Find the index.html or index.htm file on your computer and press Open. Then, click Upload in the page with a lot of buttons and text boxes. Now, when you go to your website (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/), you should see your homepage! If you don't get all that, feel free to PM me!

Welcome to Xisto, elevenmil! You will love it here (I know I do). Hmm, poker. You're going to have to show me how to play that some day because I don't know how to play. All my friends play it, and I'm jealous because I can't participate.

Ao)K-General, according to Nils in the thread entitled Change In Hosting Packages For All Members: Go straight to the forum if you want to read about it in detail. I forgot to review my post before submitting, so the BBCode didn't show up correctly

T3 Internet Connections Ever heard of it?
snlildude87 replied to PHPtech's topic in Science and Technology
^Ouch. That's all I have to say about that. Ouch. 2.49 GB/sec will definately kill a person as a result of sleep deprivation. kummy, to answer your question, I personally think a cable internet connection is the fastest broadband connection for the average family because it's fast and reliable. I think a satellite connection is good, but it's also also pretty unreliable. If you have satellite television (like me), you know why satellite-anything is bad. The reason for this is if there is a storm outside (or you don't have a clear view of the souther sky), you can expect your internet connection and television to not work. Trust me. I know this from experience with satellite television. -
Welcome to Xisto, Made! And no, I do not know anyone named Made, and have never known anyone named Made.

Webmaster Level 1 The sequel to my smash hit HTML tutorial
snlildude87 replied to GM-University's topic in General Discussion
GMU, the direction could also be "up", "down", "left", or "right." Other than that, GREAT TUTORIAL! I already know all of it myself, but it should help HTML n00bs. (Your credits must be extremely high by now!) -
Super Smash Brothers Melee Does anyone still play this game?
snlildude87 replied to darvtech's topic in Computer Gaming
Sonic, I took care of the spam/useless post. I shouldn't affect his credits much because it was only a few characters. -
Confused About Hosting Credits And Posts
snlildude87 replied to thugnature's topic in Web Hosting Support
You need 30 hosting credits from making good quality posts. According to Nils, posts no long count - only hosting credits. So if you have 100000 posts, but 10 credits, you won't be able to get package 2. -
No, that's cool, and I am a moderator :)The only reason I said it didn't work was because I thought you used it for you, too because I didn't see one on your title.

Looking For Paid Hosting Service
snlildude87 replied to Ralphie's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I suggest https://xisto.com/ because like you said, you're not expecting a lot of visitors, so Xisto - Web Hosting would be the perfect place for you! It'll be beneficial for you financially as well since you're new to this website building stuff. -
I believe that's found in Dooga's title code (and mine as well) , and it doesn't work (I can't see the marquee), so it's not original.

T3 Internet Connections Ever heard of it?
snlildude87 replied to PHPtech's topic in Science and Technology
Yes, unless you're extremely wealthy. -
Yeah, you're right. It could be Thai food because I've never seen anything like that in Vietnam, so you're right. :)But it's still pretty gross!

T3 Internet Connections Ever heard of it?
snlildude87 replied to PHPtech's topic in Science and Technology
Umm, haha. T3 costs an arm and a leg, dude. Literally. The only way you can get access to T3 is if you're a)really rich, b)using it at a college, or c)using it at work. -
xboxrulz, I'm afraid to burst your bubble, but that is definately NOT Thai food. Do you know how I know? Because the language written on vicecityworld is Vietnamese, and guess what? I'm Vietnamese :)And to answer your question, no I currently do not and will not eat that. The fetus is just gross. Ugh!

Randle, there are many ways to get games from other websites onto yours. The best method is to add them as you come across and play them. For example, if you find a game you like at...say http://www.gamesquared.com/, then the first thing you need to do is look at the source code of the page. Then, do a search (Ctrl+F) in the source code for ".swf" (without quotes). Press F3 until you find a string that follows this pattern: /****/****.swf (this is the URL of your game). Select/Highlight the entire string (from "http" to ".swf") and to Notepad. Then, open another instance of Notepad. This time, save the file (blank file) in Notepad as mygame.html. Copy and paste the following code to mygame.html: <http> <head> <title>My Game</title> </head> <body> <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="625" height="480"> <param name="movie" value="http://********.swf"> <param name="quality" value="high"> <embed src="http://********.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://http://www.adobe.com/special/errorpages/404.html; type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="625" height="480"></embed> </object> </body></html> Do you see "********.swf; above? Replace everything from "http" to "swf" with the URL of your game (you have this URL pasted in the other instance of Notepad). Wow. That's a lot of stuff, and I hoped I explained everything well enough for you to understand. If you don't understand, however, PM me and I'll be glad to show you!

extremehardware, please specify exactly how a thread about Ages of Empire III categorized as game or gaming. One short sentence about the hardware requirements does not classify AoE III as technology. There is the Gaming Consoles forum here at Xisto, why isn't that in the technology/hardware forum? It relates more to technology/hardware than AoE III does.
