  1. Problem solved -> thread closed Solution: So don't delete the index.html or index.php or index.htm file or else you will see a root directory instead of your web page
  2. Xisto hosts domains and subdomains. Domains have to already be registered to work, and we do not register free domain names. However, the subdomains are free and the URL pattern for a subdomain is xxxx.trap17.com where xxxx is any word or words you choose
  3. I reopened the post because I felt that I acted on impulse about my decision.Your signature is very nice by the way although her face scares me a bit (looks like the monster in NilsC's Age of Dawn Hunting Club logo (People call me critter at school, so it kind of matches me )
  4. Wrong forum. The questions and queries forum is to ask OTHER USERS questions, and other users probably do not know your password. You have to request for a password reset here: http://forums.xisto.com/topic/177-free-web-hosting-password-reset/
  5. Hmm, didn't it work yesterday? When I went to outlawspirit.com yesterday, it took me to your site on Xisto...not brinkster.
  6. Okay, register or apply for your hosting package normally in the appropriate forum. Make sure you supply a SUBDOMAIN like yourdomain.trap17.com.After you get your hosting package and you have successfully set it up, go to a free subdomain provider. I'll be using cjb.net for this post.Make an account at cjb.net, or sign into Account Settings (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/). Type in ns1.trap17.com where it says "DNS Server:".Now, go to your cPanel at yourdomain.trap17.com/cpanel and find Parked Domains on that page and click on it. Type in yourdomain.cjb.net in the text box provided and wait a couple of days (cjb.net is usually slow on the DNS stuff). After that, you should be able to access your site from yourdomain.cjb.net, and if you have a directory at yourdomain.trap17.com/images, then you can access that from yourdomain.cjb.net/images. :oIf you register a domain name, then you have to go through the same steps as above, but instead of entering ns1.trap17.com, you will enter in ns2.trap17.com as well as ns1.trap17.com. After that, go to your cPanel and park your domains.yourdomain.trap17.com is, of course, the subdomain you chose when you apply for a hosting package. yourdomain.cjb.net is the domain name you chose when signing up for cjb.netIf you have any questions, feel free to PM me or post a reply
  7. http://www.w3schools.com/js/default.asp has good beginners tutorials If you need JavaScript scripts, you can go to http://www.hotscripts.com/.
  8. Dude, this is like the first time I have agreed with you on something. High school girls, in my opinion, are not easy. Maybe that's because my personality stinks, but I'll find a new one over the summer and come back in my senior year fresh and hot (who am I kidding) So basically, you just ask a girl out in the middle of a conversation? Sample conversation: But to be more serious, I stink when it comes to girls. Seriously. I have no idea what to say because it just might end up to be a wrong statement that will make her ignore you forever. That's bad. By the way, no hard feelings, OpaQue
  9. PHPNuke, I believe, is free. Also, I don't think you can edit the template...although I may be wrong on this one. You can edit the template on Nucleus though, which is why I like it Hmm, are you sure it doesn't work?? It works fine for me...
  10. Problem solved -> thread closed. Here is our (outlawspirit and me) private conversation that where I helped outlawspirit: My response: His response: My response: His response: Basically, don't worry about the index.html file that is NOT in your public_folder. It's the index.html file INSIDE your public_html folder that you should edit, delete, or rename
  11. The site that is currently cloaking your domain is where you go to change the name servers to Xisto's name servers (ns1.trap17.com and ns2.trap17.com)
  12. Whyme is unable to come to the forum right now, so I'll answer your questions in his place. 1. The comments are not working because the file you're looking at is an HTML file, meaning that it's static. It has to be a PHP file in order for comments to work. 2. Yes, he will enable comments in summer of '05 3. He's using JavaScript because it's universal - it works on all the pages of the blogconnect participants despite whatever format they're using (HTML, PHP, or ASP). For example, if a user has a web page that ends in .html, then PHP-blogconnect will not work because HTML cannot support PHP (PHP can support HTML). However, JavaScript works on HTML, PHP, ASP, and possible other file formats. All you have to do is print, or echo, the HTML markup for the JavaScript include, and it will show up! I hope number three makes sense to you.
  13. Here are several CSS layout generators that I have found: 1. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ 2. https://csscreator.com/version2/pagelayout.php - has visualizations 3. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Have fun!
  14. The http://www.proxy4free.com/ URL did not work before, which is why I had to delete your tutorial It works now.
  15. Okay, there are several things I noticed about your site or when going to outlawspirit.com1. It redirects you to your brinkster host, meaning that the name servers on brinkster.com is not changed. To fix this, go to your cPanel, or control panel, or settings in your registerfly.com account and remove the name servers for your brinkster host. Then, enter in Xisto's name servers, ns1.trap17.com and ns2.trap17.com in your registerfly.com's control panel. The two name servers, Xisto and brinkster, are conflicting, which is why it takes you to your brinkster website. So remove the brinkster name servers in your registerfly.com's control panel and replace those with Xisto's name servers.2. To make enter.php show up when you go to outlawspirit.com, you have to complete step 1 above. Then, delete index.html in your Xisto's cPanel, and rename enter.php to index.php. Now, you're all set! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to post or PM me.
  16. Nope. I use PHP for all the pages in my site. I have tried ASP before, but I did not like like it a lot. Plus, I find that PHP is much easier because most of the people in this forum know PHP, so you will receive plenty of help when needed. Also, there is a site that's completely dedicated to PHP and PHP help: http://php.net/. With all the resources available across the web, how could one not choose PHP?
  17. Contrary to what I said above, I didn't choose pink, but I chose green.Problem solved -> Thread closed
  18. I believe you can ask for more add-on domains. Just request for it in the Free Web Hosting Misc. Request forum, and if an admin sees that you have legitimately used all your add-on domains, then you will get more However, I don't think you can request for more disk space.
  19. http://www.cjb.net/ offerse DNS service for you. All you need to do is enter ns1.trap17.com in the name server text box and park your cjb.net subdomain - yourdomain.cjb.net, and wait a few days. Then you will be able to do yourdomain.cjb.net/images and such Some people don't recommend using cjb.net because it has popups. I personally have never experienced popups with that service, so I highly recommend using it.
  20. Yes, go to your cPanel's Theme feature - it's at the very bottom of the page. You can change it to whatever color you desire, even pink!
  21. <moderator>Okay, try to keep this thread as unsexually explicit as possible. If any user reports this post saying that it's making them feel uncomfortable, I will have to shut it down immediately. Thank you </moderator>
  22. I use a content management system for a part of my site. It's called Nucleus. The only reason I like Nucleus is that you can edit its HTML source code to make all your pages W3C compliant. As an added bonus, you can add plug-ins or extensions to Nucleus to make it even more customizable. Edit: Forgot to close a BBCode tag. Whoops
  23. ASP will not work because it's completely different from PHP. I think all you need for .asp files to work is to install IIS (found in Windows XP Pro). Hmm, I didn't know .co.uk domains are free. Where you can get them?
  24. I have 56K, and we pay $10 a month. The ISP is Joi Internet for all those wondering. Overall, it's good, but the only thing I don't like about is that it disconnects me everytime I have download around 50 megabytes
