Perma damage is something I'd like to see in a game; kinda like red faction, but more detailed. I would play it. I think there should be no safe zones, but let players with lots of money become weapons dealers and have construction options to make buildings. Don't start it over, but don't be traditional. Have weapon skill mostly preset, and have a few different classes, I.e. Heavy weapons, sniper, medic; but make individual skills random within limits. Also, players could change classes, but it would take training and 1-3 days real time. If the skills don't build up much, no one can get too far ahead, that way if you joined later/ weren't able to play for a while, you wouldn't be behind. Plus, nobody WANTS to pay to play, so if you could, free playing would be nice. Overhead gta style would be too lacking on detail, but first person would be limited. I would def. Play it.That's my input.PeaceAaron

Should I Buy Macromedia Studio?
lacking_imagination replied to Troubadour's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I would have to disagree with a few of your opinions. While freehand is a bit lacking(unless you have a wacom tablet or a tablet notebook), fireworks is definantly my favorite graphics program. While I'm just beginning to see its potential, as it has a very large learning curve (although tutorials are included to help the process), I use it more than photoshop and ms paint . The fireworks layers and interface is so easy to use, and it is VERY similar to flash mx 2004. I feel dreamweaver 2004 is the definitive web page designer program. It is professional quality and allows easy embedding/editing of graphic files (flash, .png, .gif, to name a few). It creates a folder and all files used in the site are copied to that folder. It makes uploading so simple anyone could do it. It also lets you bypass the visual editor and code from scratch... Ug... I remember those days, and I'm only 18. Studio mx is nice, but mx 2004 is worth the extra bills. Plus flash, even if you're not going to do any major developments, is usable for animated gifs and you can waste hours making cartoons and just junk for no reason. Its some fun stuff. Well, hope I helped Peace Aaron -
If you have it, open the pic in fireworks and save it as a .png It'll lose a small amount of quality, but I've found png files more usable in flash than gifs or jpegs. Also, test it by pressing F12. It is an actual published preview, rather than a scene/movie test. But, I could be wrong, so check your publish settings first.PeaceAaron

PS2 Vs XBox What is better PS2 or XBox

and the gamecube has tales of symphonia, and a 1ghz processor. Unfortunantly, gcn doesn't have much 3rd party support. Anyways, it got my... Wait, that wasn't an option. Anyhoo, look at re4's graphics. They blow gaylo 2(lol) out of the water. Don't get me wrong, halo is a fun party game, but the on the fly saving and loading in the 1p game is horrible if you save to the hd. -
I was just wondering, does this work on a pentium 4? Its a 1.8 ghz processor and I'd like to try. If not, do you know how to make a p4 work with overclocking? ThanksAaron

The 2 best ps2 games ever are katamari damacy and alien hominid. Kd is a crazy japanese game where you roll a ball around and pick up all kinds of stuff... Play it to see it. Only $20!AH is a classic 2d side scrolling shooter. All hand animated. Lots of violence and near infinate reply value. It's a remake of a flash game on http://www.newgrounds.com/ but the console game has more levels/stuff to do and is somewhat easier and tons more fun. Its $30

This is something I worked at for a while. I used to play sounds by selecting start on the properties tab, and the animation never lined up with the sound waves on timeline. If you switch it to stream, it changes the wave and allows animation to be aligned to the sound. Also, a sound can be cut short by not extending the frames enough, so beware.Hope I helped againPeaceAaron

Sprites, as you may or may not know, are pictures in a series used for animations. They are very helpful in flash as you can use pre-made/pre-sized pictures and don't have to draw the animation yourself. To use a sprite, first open a new window. Make sure the sprites are saved as separate files, and then click file->import->import to library and import all the sprites. select the first frame, and drag the picture from the library to the stage. Take note of where it is located on the stage by looking at the properties tab. click 2-6 frames later(depending on how fast you want the animation to be) and press F6. select the key frame and press delete to remove the first sprite from the new key frame. Drag the next picture and line it up using the properties tab. make sure it is lined up or it'll look like the sprite warped. You can, if it is a running sprite, animate every frame or every couple of frames and move it across the screen.Hope this was useful.PeaceAaron

Hey, has anyone heard of Steve Burns? Despite all rumors, he is still alive. He has a CD out and it's called songs for dustmites. It is a great cd. He's really depressing, though. Pick it up and enjoy it. now

Final Fantasy Viii Final fantasy VIII
lacking_imagination replied to mongos's topic in Computer Gaming
while everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I would have to disagree. Imho, ff VII and IX had much better story lines. XIII was neat, but the draw system was kinda annoying at times. Materia (VII) was, imho, the best system to date, and IX had a cool skill acquiring system. VIII did have some nice cut scenes, but the end scene in VII (the one after the credits with red XIII was amazing) and most of the cut scenes in IX blew XIII away. That's just my opinion, though -
For public domain use:Here is some information I dug up for an english essay at school:Rumors and faq's:1. Posts on usenet/irc/message boards are public domain.FALSE. Posts are (assuming they are not copied or general knowledge) are original works of authorship, and are protected by copyright laws, unless it specifically says it is for public domain use. E-mails also fall under this category.2. Copyrights must be registered to be effective.FALSE. Copyrights are effective as soon as the work is placed in a fixed format. Registration is optional, and can lead to greater monetary awards in court.3. If it doesn't say otherwise, it's public domain.FALSE. Under a convention (I don't remember the name) on March 1st, 1989, the law was changed so you don't have to post a notice for the copyright to be effective. 4. A name, title, word, slogan, or idea cannot be copyrighted.TRUE. These do not fall under government restrictions for copyrightable material. That's all I can think of right now, I'll post more later.
