  1. I created my first full website from straight html in seventh grade which would be... 12 or 13. I had done some stuff before that though.
  2. My school has 3 kinds of pizza (stuffed crust, rectangular, and circular) that are either plain or pepperoni. I usually get that unless there's something better. They also have really good french fries.
  3. Doesn't five dollars up front basically mean free five dollars? Seeing as there's no real contract or anything, you wouldn't really be able to do anything if someone didn't follow through...
  4. I had a false lucid dream last night. What makes it more interesting was that the false lucid was in a dream that I dreamt that I was dreaming.
  5. FUN FACT: I came into this topic expecting the first post to contain the words "your mom" That one gets old fast, especially when the preppy kids use it as a response to literally everything (e.g., "Hey can you hand me that pen?" "Your mother's a pen!"). I've always liked "NO U" but I could see how that would get old, too.
  6. Most ISPs have restrictions about bandwidth and what you can host on your own server so you should probably check your agreement with them before making your server.
  7. And to anyone who may think that this would be a good idea: If a website changed my monitor's resolution, I'd never go there again.
  8. OH NOEZ MY IP NOW U WILL H4X MESeriously, you can't do that much with an IP. You can find an approximate area where the person lives, but that's often wrong. You can ping someone a lot, but it's really easy to make that stop.
  9. Hate to restate what everyone else said, but it really is a nice design. The only problem I have is the scrolling text. Even though you can stop it, it's going a little fast and that kind of movement is distracting. I think since you have so much room for that section, you could just put the newest things there and have a link to a larger list if it's needed.
  10. I'm sorry to say this, but if creating a webpage and learning HTML are so hard for you, you might want to look into skills that don't involve computers...
  11. It'd be nice if you explained a little about what it was in your post; a sentence would work. After reading a little of it I can say that some of the questions are very poorly worded or make no sense, e.g.
  12. My grandmother once saw a really old car being towed away with a bumper sticker that said "At least I'm still running" But I think getting rid of bumper stickers altogether would be much more trouble than it's worth.
  13. It's similar to getting rich offline. Money is exchanged for goods and services, so you need to make a good or provide a service that people will want. If you can't charge for it, or your target audience wouldn't pay for it (e.g., the aforementioned myspace), just pump it full of ads.
  14. Why don't you... talk to her? Just be like "Hey someone told me they saw you flirting and I just want to be sure that it wasn't true." At the very least you might be able to guilt her into admitting something. But if you can't trust her then maybe you shouldn't be with her.And if you can't stand her talking to some random guy you might have a jealousy problem.
  15. Isn't one of the bad things about Vista the amount of processing power it requires? What does this take? Video card requirements?Eh, I don't need another process going. I already have 54 going pretty much constantly.
  16. Also it's called Avogadro's number. The Mole is the group of 6.022x10^23 units, not the number 6.022x10^23.
  17. Finally got mine in a day or two ago. Everything was as expected:Computer Science AB - 5
  18. I like the world cup (this last one at least) because of Zidane. What a great headbutt. And it spawned so many animated gifs! 19. Yeah that occurred to me a while after I made this topic, but it's just not as cool as it could be.

    Pygame

Now I've gotten it to install but for some reason I can't draw basic shapes. I'm also interested in more in-depth tutorials if anyone knows of any or is also looking. Edit: I learned a lot from looking at the source of http://www.codesampler.com/source/pyg_star_wars.zip, which can be found on http://www.codesampler.com/python.htm along with many other python and pygame tutorials. I made a simple little Mega Man thing (you can only move and shoot, though): After I made that I started working on an original project. Pygame makes a lot of things really easy and that's combined with Python's inherent easiness. I seriously recommend this to anyone who's not really comfortable with more complicated languages.

    Pygame

Pygame is a library for Python designed with the intent of programming- you guessed it- games. I've looked through some tutorials and it looks pretty easy, at least compared to Java with which I've made a couple games. For example, there are built in functions to determine collisions and you don't need to bother with three or four different listeners. I'd like to make something using Pygame, but I can't get it to install. There's more about it at the website: http://www.pygame.org/news.html, and good tutorials at http://www.learningpython.com/category/python/pygame/ and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  22. It's not broken but it's breaking. As the article said, coins are supposed to make money for the government, but they're losing money on pennies. According to the U.S. Mint's 2001 Annual Report, 14 277 420 000 pennies were minted that year. Assuming it's a similar number now, that means that the government would lose .2 cents * 14 277 420 000 = 2 855 485 400 cents = $28 554 854. I can understand their wanting to get rid of the penny. As for rounding off prices, most workers would say round up, but you could always do nearest 5: 0, 1, 2 = 0; 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 = 5; 8, 9 = 0. That way everyone would break even.
  23. First of all, I see no JOptionPane. JFrames aren't the same thing. Second, why don't you import anything? It makes it less messy and you don't have to type the whole package tree every time you want to do something. You didn't setDefaultCloseOperation either, which can cause some problems.
  24. No, considering they're not really good html. The first two at least, I'm not sure about the img one. It could use an alt, though.
  25. Disguising it or throwing it in with other questions is a good idea, but if they're smart then they won't fall for it. I usually choose a random month and day and go for the lowest year they have. It's surprising how many sites believe that I was born in 1912.
