How Do I Translate A Something.com To An Ip?
szupie replied to rapco's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I think that http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is the server's IP, but http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is located on a subdirectory of the server. In order to access http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, you might have to go to somewhere like http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or something... -
It seems like OpaQue's using Invision Power Board (Trial) here. I went to Invision's site to see how to download it, but found that it's unmodifiable. How did OpaQue make so much scripts for this forum, such as the Newest Topics at the bottom of the page and the Shoutbox? I heard that the Shoutbox was made by a member of this forum, not by Invision...

I think what NilsC is trying to say is that if you make such a site, actual hackers (Not the ones playing the challenges to look for passwords) will come and try to actually hack your whole site, not just the challenges, which hacks the whole server too. That wouldn't be nice.

E-mail Checker What is the best program?
szupie replied to wwheeler's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I use Thunderbird with the Minimize to Tray extension, so that it can sit in the System Tray. I can configure it to automatically check the server every minute, so that I get the mails almost instantly. It's using 26200 K of memory right now, though... If there's a better program, I'll probably switch. -
Disaster Recovery How not to lose important data.
szupie replied to vujsa's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Wow, that's what I do too! I use C: to install Windows, and D: to put files and programs. But if Windows crashes and C: is reset, I'll still have to reinstall most of the programs to make the links and short-cuts. So, the programs part isn't all that good, except for big downloaded programs. -
Some Of My 3D Models im still learning..
szupie replied to Shogi's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Yes, I modeled it on my own, after reading lots of tutorials online and combining them together. I wrote my own tutorial too, if you want to model something like it, you can read it here. I used character studio's biped to rig it, it's pretty nice.Oh, I didn't use Illustrator as my renderer, it's actually called Illustrate!. It renders very well. -

How Do I Translate A Something.com To An Ip?
szupie replied to rapco's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Go to start > Run... , type cmd, click ok. Then type "ping http://ww2.subterraneos.net/rg-erdr.php?_rpo=t; (no quotes). There should be something like "Ping statistics for 66.235.211.74:" come up. -
Wow, rkage, good point! I'll make my logo based on what you have said!

My school uses Bess, which blocks most appropriate sites, leaving us with only inappropriate sites. It blocks proxies sites, so I can't find proxies at school. Then I found Sneak2, which is a site that is hopefully not blocked at your school, and can do something like how google caches a page, except Sneak2 gives you the current updated page. It takes your request, then uses its server to get the page you want, then sends it to you, so that the firewall can't block it. There are lots of addresses to Sneak2, so it's best if you go to your school and use google to check for one that isn't blocked. http://www.sneak2.com/rg-erdr.php?_rpo=t and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ are probably blocked, but others may not be. Just don't use it to do illegal stuff, like watching pr0n...

Eh... Depends on where you're putting it... If it's going to stand by itself like a banner, it's kinda plain... And what does DWA mean? You should include that... (if it's standing by itself)

If you want, I can make you the spinning box with 3ds Max. Just give me the details and I'll make it for you.

When I play MSN Messenger's games, an alert pops up saying: So I went to check the Digital Signature Information, and it said its Signing Time was Thursday, May 29, 2003 5:56:23 PM. Then I read the Certificate, which was issued by Microsoft Code Signing PCA and Valid from Thursday, June 27, 2002 6:14:39 PM to Saturday, December 27, 2003 6:24:39 PM. After I click OK to close the alert, the game says I can't play any games! I've tried to lower the Security Level to Low in the Internet Options and turn off firewall, but it's still blocked... Can anyone help?

if ($a == 0 || $b == 0){ echo lala} Is that if part of the statement correct? I couldn't get it to trigger with $b = 0... I assume that it's another one of those obvious and dumb mistakes I make when scripting... just about anything... Oh, nvm. I put the elseif (it's actually not "if" in my script) after if $a == 1, so that's what made it wrong.

Your Instant Message "addresses" A whole list to be put here
szupie replied to szupie's topic in General Discussion
Heh, it's ok... Most people only read the first post anyway... I like mIRC the best too, and I've made a matrix-like theme for it. You can do anything with mIRC scripting. Anything at'all! The only limit is yourself... (Sorry, I thought about zombo com again... ) -
What are your instant messaging accounts? I just thought I'd start this topic so that we could have a whole big list in a topic, instead of having to look through profiles. You can also include which server and nick you use on IRC too... My Google Talk, AIM, Yahoo!, and IRC nick (Yeah, thy're all the same because my nick is unique...): szupie The IRC server I use: irc.rebound.us, irc.webchat.org MSN Messenger: szupie@gmail.com ICQ ID: 238724645 I like IRC the most, and I use mIRC for that. I use Google Talk for everything else, so I'll be online for most of my accounts most of the time.

Heh, looks nice. Good for bad spellers or someone trying to search for a foreign language. Does it use CGI or something to make the list pop up so fast? The list must be a few GB!

Carbon Nanotubes Will they shape the future of computers?
szupie replied to lasto i glemyr's topic in Science and Technology
Oh, yeah! The carbon nanotubes are what the space elevator needs! If we can make lots of them for a low price, we can accomplish multiple things! Wow, I hope they find an efficient way to make them soon... -
1. Firefox: Yeah, a browser can pretty accomplish tasks of other programs such as NotePad, calculator. But it's not made to do that, because it's slower that way. Anyway, it's great.2. Photoshop: For all my graphic editing needs. All the functions I can ever think of that I would need and lots of ways to export your image. Starts up slow though...3. mIRC: I use mIRC to get on IRC on Windows. I made a Matrix-like color theme for it... It has its own scripting language too to make stuff like bots or games.4. NotePad: Edit texts and other things such as executables, data files, and scripts.5. Flash: I put this as my fifth because I use the above ones more often than this one. Just a great program to draw, animate and make interactive stuff. Has ActionScript. It would get a higher rank if I do more Flash stuff.
