  1. Hmm... I was trying to go for a more professional look, with words that are subtle instead of flashy, distractive and annoying. I'll reply to the contest post with that version, see if you like it.
  2. Wow, those are very nice!!! You're either learning very fast, or your instructor's really great. Or both. The hair's really realistic. Did you use multiple maps for the first two?The lighting's a bit too much though... Too much light reflecting on the face makes it blinding and unseeable, unless you want that effect...
  3. Oh crap... I forgot about that... I'm off to uninstall Firfox, then reinstall 1.0.2... I hope they fix that in the next build...
  4. Oh... "For use on Xisto.com and Xisto.com", now I get it... Well, back to work! The drawing of the logos for Xisto and Xisto was tedious, though...
  5. Yeah, patch is a great idea. I was about to install the 1.0.2 when I wondered if it's going to be a new install again instead of a patch, but I was disappointed. New installs doesn't feel as nice, sometimes they scare me.
  6. In Hong Kong, piracy is really easy. Just go on the streets and find a piracy shop, and it's not that hard to find, and walk in. They usually are just vacant shops with nothing in them, except racks on the walls. On these racks, there are many cds, some for ps2, xbox, pc, etc. Take what you want, and then put the money in one of the boxes near the door (well, they usually don't have doors, but you know what I mean). There should be a price list in the room saying something like 5cds for $20 (hong kong dollar). After you put the money in the box, you can leave the place. If you don't put the money in, however, watchout for the shopkeepers (Black market people) who might beat you up and kill your family. That's what I think they'd do, I haven't tried or heard from others who tried. That way there's no transaction, and it won't be considered illegal.
  7. In case you can't connect to irc.dal.net (like me), here's a list of other servers that you can connect to, but still end up on the same dalnet network. The bold ones are the ones I usually use and succeed in connecting to. arcor.de.eu.dal.net broadway.ny.us.dal.net hotspeed.sg.as.dal.net jade.va.us.dal.net jingo.ix.us.dal.net loyalty.ix.us.dal.net masters.ix.us.dal.net matrix.de.eu.dal.net mesra.kl.my.dal.net mozilla.se.eu.dal.net novel.ix.us.dal.net powertech.no.eu.dal.net redemption.ix.us.dal.net rumble.fl.us.dal.net slimey.uk.eu.dal.net I emboldened the redemption one - from thailand it always connects to that, and amazingly fast - though geographically it's nowhere around this region.
  8. Here it goes... computinghost1.swf computinghost2.swf computinghost3.swf computinghost4.swf The one I made "for Xisto and Xisto", instead of "for to put on Xisto and Xisto" astatrap.swf They're all Flash files. I made a page with all the logos as plugins in the correct size. View it here. I corrected my 4th one, I thought it was supposed to advertise Asta and trap, instead of to put on asta and trap.
  9. OK. How do I get this testmy.cgi thing?
  10. Those were the things that I have done before, but still got the Error 500. I strongly don't think that it's the problem with my scripts, because even plain txt files fail to execute in the cgi-bin. I think that it must be something with the configuration. Does Perl work for you here?
  11. Wow. rkage, the formula you gave was pretty nice! I'm just a kid who doesn't know what "tan" and "sin" is, but still calculated something very close to pi with windows' calculator. It gives me some kind of joy in me... :)I used 5000000000000000 for n, and got 3.1415926535897932384626433832793 < pi < 3.1415926535897932384626433832799.
  12. I think that if it's an animation, it'd look best if it's looped. That's just my opinion.
  13. I don't know why, but I just can't get my CGI stuff to work! I even tested the most basic perl script which says print "Hello!";, but it still doens't work! Any file, even txt files, put in my /public_html/cgi-bin/ directory gets a 500 Internal Server Error. Do I have to configure my cgi-bin in my cpanel? Is /public_html/cgi-bin/ the right directory? Does CGI work for anyone here? So many questions, so little time...
  14. I just got the newest version of firefox and installed. It disabled all my extensions. If you have the same problem, you can first go to your extensions options thing, then right click on each of your extensions to disabled them. Restart your firefox, go to the extensions thing again, then enable all of them. Now, after you restart again. They should all be available to you again. Oh, I just saw the new release's page. It said that the extensions it disabled will be enabled when Oops. Well, you can do it my way if you can't live without your extensions, like me.
  15. Sorry, I was only trying to keep this topic on topic. If you have more links to DNS service providers instead of redirectors, please post them here for us to share. :)The link you have is correct, and sadly, uni.cc isn't back up yet...
  16. Yeah, NilsC, can it be in flash? Also, for banner 3, you said , is that really true? That would make it more portrait like, instead of landscape. OK, nvm. Sources reveal that Banner 3 really is supposed to go vertical.
  17. No, I've never experienced or heard this problem. I visited your link, but there was no problem for me. It might be something with your extensions, having conflicts with that page. I don't know.
  18. Um... Well, it looks good, better than ones of new computer users... but, the blurry stuff and the 3d effect is just kinda... noobish... I think that a change in color and the font would help make it cool. And not too much 3d, because if the 3d doesn't look good, it looks worse than having 3d at all. So, either have amazing 3d effect or none at all.
  19. We can also have meetings take place on IRC, as it is easier to do so in a chatroom style... chatting... protocol... That is, IF we would have meetings... but if we do, it'd be great to do so with IRC.
  20. Topic Closed- See this topic for more information and follow-up.
  21. Actually, r8.org, cjb.net and .tk are not truely dns services...when you go to one of the sites they forward to and View Source it, you will see that it's not actually the page's source. A real DNS service provider should look invisible, not affecting your site at all.
  22. I have only tried skinning with Invision Boards and SMF, so I can only compare those two. I thought SMF was a bit easier, but I had already had experience with skinning Invision when I did that, plus the tutorial I read for SMF was much better. Still, the css for SMF was shorter, so that it wasn't as complicated to edit the whole file. It was already been commented upon, too, so it was editable without a tutorial. Wow, I'm jumping around a lot.
  23. I think that it'd be great if we make our own IRC channel on some network. We can just chat there and... yeah. irc.webchat.org is a good server we can put our channel in. Our users can still post their questions and answers on the board, but get some more faster additional help on IRC.
  24. Yeah, it's hard to search for something if you don't know what it's called... I'm closing this topic.
  25. Why are you posting this? I know this is partly automated, but still, I thought you didn't like Adsense.
