  1. Proffesional looking maybe from spelling point of view. Certainly not from the graphics point of view. You should try to make graphics look better. That looks very bad. Maybe heavily compressed.
  2. On which page? I didn't find anything like that in the inbox. I directly login. Maybe it comes only on browsers without Java.
  3. There is already a topic on this and many have posted on it. You could have done the same thing. Make sure you check for the topic before you start one.
  4. So what if someone doesn't want to use Xisto hosting. no one said that you have to be here for the hosting sake. I don't have a Xisto account. i am a level3 member. I like the forum.
  5. Gmail is not only fast it also allows POP3 access and has 1000MB space. So that you can download all your mails to your PC and read it offline. That's one major advantage of gmail. Another is that even online, it is extremely fast. You have to see it to know.
  6. Giving your account number or credit card number is the biggest problem on the net. There are some who make up sites just to cheat people of their money and they disappear. As it is said easy come easy go.
  7. Yeah, you'll are right. These sites don't pay at all. There is one site 200dollarsmail.com. It says no minimum payout but hasn't yet paid anyone. When I go to the redemption section and check there is no payout option. There are many sites like this advertising for each other and are very new, some even a couple of months old.
  8. Can someone Plee...eese tell me what the HELL IS GOING ON??????What is content management system? What is it used for? Why do you need it?I am new to hosting and web development. I am only good as long as the PC is not in a network and then I know a lot less.
  9. See..? that's what I said. Guys are usually more interested in computer and computer games. Girls are there, I am not saying that there are no girls interested in computers, but guys are very much into it. And some guys don't listen to girls because of their ego. He usually feel humiliated (not the right word may be) by asking girls. They are nuts but no one can do anything about it. My I ask my friends (girls) learning comps (I am learning electronics) somethings but they usually (most of the time don't answer) because they wont be knowing. That's people's fate I guess. It great to be different. Keep it up girls!!!
  10. I didn't understand what that means can you please explain. You have to pay for what?
  11. See? this is what I am saying. many don't know what Gmail is. I hope you have heard of Google. Gmail is a email service from Google. It is in its beta stage. So not all are allowed. They allow some additional people to be invited by the members. So you need to be invited by a member to have a Gmail account. It is the fastest webmail I have seen previously it was Rediff. You have to use it you'll know automatically.
  12. If anyone doesn't want invites or already has a gmail account or maybe just not interested in having one or what ever the reason, please don't post it here. Start a new topic on that. This topic is for only those who want a gmail invite.Thank You.
  13. Nice stuff. Where did you find it? I like the scroll bar too on the left! I wanted to scroll down and no scroll bar on the right . Nice one.
  14. I bet you haven't read the previous posts. Do you know his configuration? That's enough for now. Anyway he has to spend money. He can do it later or now. That's his choice, depends on this needs now.
  15. I know why it is not user friendly. Windows is Linux's enemy and you have become the friend of windows that make you Linux's enemy. The best thing to do here is first tell what is you level of knowledge of computer, linux and the distro of linux you are using. If you use something like Mandrake I doubt you will go back to windows if you have all the software required, no matter how hard it is to use.Mandrake is the simplest of all and most user friendly linux, as far as I know. There may be others but I didn't use all distros of linux.About how to get around in linux don't worry about that there are enough of us to help you out. Just start using it.
  16. Ok here everything you need to know about installing linux: If you want a dual boot system then install windows first then linux (assuming you are dual booting with windows), because windows will create a boot loader which will overwrite the linux boot loader (LILO or GRUB). It has a little problem sharing its space with others. But its not so with linux. Linux will happily share the hard disk with anyone, even Windows! So partitioning with windows will not do any good since each OS has its own specific file system (FAT32 and NTFS for Windows 9X and Windows XP). So once the installation of XP is done you can go for installation of Linux. Something to remember: Windows 9x needs to be installed on a primary partition XP and linux can go to logical drives. (if you want to know about patitions then you will have to make a new topic there is a lot to explain). Linux boot loader will overwrite the windows boot loader but you will have an option to boot into windows. Windows doesn't allow that. (I guess windows gets in return what it gives). While partitioning you better use the automatic partitioning tool which is available with most distros. My favourite being Mandrake. There cannot be any problem with linux if you are using mandrake. It is the most user firendly linux. But make sure you use the latter ones 9 onwards. I heard that there are problems with the older versions. Ok, so now you are done with installing windows and you make a seperate partition for linux (doesn't matter what file system). Make sure you have atleast 4GB set apart for linux. You start installing and the first thing that you have to do is set up your basic devices e.g., mouse, monitor, keyboard etc. Just the basics you'll find this with you hardware manual (It depends on the type of distro). If you are not able to do this then Linux in not for you. You have a long way to go before you get your hands on linux. I used windows for 5 years before installing linux and I had to prepare a lot for it. I am an Electronics student with no computer background so I had to go through magazines, tutorials, etc and learn. That's why I can explain all this now. The next and the most important part of the installation is the partitioning. Now you already partitoned your hard drive (with fdisk may be) but that is useless because for linux you need a different file system. This is very easy actually but the most critical. Now remember the partition you had kept aside you might have a drive letter for that but it doesn't matter here. In linux hard disks are named a hda1 hda2 hdb1 hbd2 etc. Your C drive will be hda1 usually. If you find it confusing to find out which one is you lnux drive then listent to this carefully. I had earlier to you to make a 4GB drive so you must know that the 4GB drive is your linux drive (provided you don't have another 4GB drive. 4GB=4096MB). That's what I do and I never make mistakes. So select that drive and partition it using the automatic patition option. Manual partition is not a choice for you if you don't know about partitions. It is safer and belive me it is a lot easier and I use that same thing). Ok, you're done just a few more setting and you are in the club. Welcome. You'll have to do a few setting now which vary widely and if you need any help just ask. I'll always be here. About the type of distro, everyone has their own taste or have used something and they like it so they recommend it. The best to start with is live CD's you don't need to install them. They boot everytime from the CD-ROM and don't take up space on your drive. No partitioning problem with live CD's. Once you like it and know around you can go for a full install. I started out with Mandrake and now I use Red Hat. Red hat is not for beginners, believe me. Most people hate linux because they just jump into it and get burnt. Use the right type of distro and it will be your friend for the rest of your life. For beginners I recommend Mandrake, for power users (Windows) can use SuSe or Linspire if you are not sure. Linspire is good for beignners too. The best thing to go if you want to get a taste of linux is ask you dealer to install it for you. No headache.
  17. Don't go by the boy or man thing its just your gender that matters. Just wanted to know. I haven't seen or known most importantly, any girl who is so enthusiastic about their wesite that they can keep posting for all the features of Xisto. My friends (girls) don't even want to talk about computers. See? that's why I want to know. :DI am 21.5yrs.
  18. Only a nut would go for a .tk paid domain. You can get a .com site from Xisto - Web Hosting for $9.95 with hosting. Whereas .tk you need to have a site hosted in the first place. It works fine now. No problems at all. I have visted the site about 5 times now without any problem. There is a better site you need one hit per month there: Freedomain.co.nr. That's better than 25 hits for 3 months.
  19. that is more than enought for a long time I think. Here a 9800 costs as much as a fully built PC. You are very lucky. Ok if you are satisfied than go for it.
  20. New users please read all the rules before posting. The two most important posts are available at the boo....ottom of the page: Intro and TOS&AUP. It will help you with hosting and with your credits. Also your whole account on Xisto.
  21. Can someone tell me about the developments of CS after the half-life mod was released. I last played CS in 2000 and after that I got bored playing with the bots.
  22. I am zero in fantastico. There are so many features in that Xisto provides and I don't know "anything" about half of them. Where can I learn about all the features. I don't want to request for hosting now because I am not going to start hosting now and I will simply lose credits if I do so.
  23. Using the mouse a lot is not good and this software makes it worse. So I suggest keyboard shortcuts. That's better for your health. Believe me. If you are happy with it then no problem. Go ahead and use it. It's nice someone makes software like that.
  24. If you have frontpage go to insert>Web component>select media player compnent in it. After it is inserted go to the HTML view in fronpage and copy the generated code. That's the easiest way and there won't be any mistakes. I don't know HTML that well.
