  1. Hi, I've just got a domain name and paid webhosting for one of my sites, http://www.global-rs.com/.

This was done on monday last week (sept 26th)... But still nothing on google, even if there are lots of link to my site...

Then I checked on Yahoo!. Two of the pages in my site appeared in Yahoo!, but not the main page... Strange... Yahoo has at least seen my site...

Then, I checked on MSN Search. Wow! 77 of my pages are listed.

What's happening to google? They are obviously slower than the other engines now, or is it something else? And how can I manage to appear in Google?

  2. Hi, I have made a script which generates a BBcode when you run it, and displays it in a text field, like this:

    <input type="text" name="bbcode" size="81" value="[IMG=<?php echo $url; ?>]">
Well, anyway, I want something that selects all the text in that form field when you click on it, like it does in ImageShack when you upload...

  3. Manual leveling is normal training.
Auto leveling is when you use a bot/macro to train yourself, which is against the RuneScape rules... Normally, you get banned after 14 days of macroing, so you'll never be any good if you try to macro, as you get banned very fast.

I am also running a fansite, called Global RuneScape. It's a site with skill guides, quest guides, maps, calculators (check out the calculators page for more info on these), community and more...

  4. Well, Xisto - Web Hosting would be a good solution. If you need more bandwidth, I would reccomend https://www.lunarpages.com/, I'm using them myself, and I really like the service they offer. Very fast servers, almost no downtime. The only problem is that you only get 3 MySQL databases in their default package(Shuttle). (5 in their advanced package(Voyager). If you need more, you will have to pay $1 monthly extra per database.

  5. I bet my Mac could come up with that number in no time flat muahhaah

    Yeah right...

    PS.

If you can find a prime number which has 10 million or more digits then you can have $100,000 from The Electronic Frontier Foundation. So if you'd like a good life, get a career in prime numbers

Well, $100,000 is alot for only one thing. However, I think it would cost you more to try to find out that number... And lots of time too, you could earn all that money normally instead of trying to find out a high number.

  6. I've scanned with Norton Antivirus, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, done a defrag, checked the disk for errors, but no problems/viruses/adwares or other malicious softwares were found. Also, there are no programs using much CPU or RAM.And to pawitp, I have already told some of the specs:160GB harddisk512MB RAM2.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4Also, YES, my harddisk works when idle, but only a little. It's mainly when I do something, like going online, chat with people etc.

  7. Nguyen/snlildude - Very good, but I don't like the text and the shape below it.

Saint Michael - I like the brushes, but I don't think the render and brushing goes well together.

TrueFusion - I like the detail in your signature, and the render really fits the rest. The only bad thing is the text, which is a little blurred (probably because it's small)

    Blue0016 - A little boring, not varied.

Avalon - I don't like the blurred renders, and the background is too simple. But overall, it's clean.

Samma - Very cool, but you should really put a border. I don't like the gray areas on the top and bottom of the image. The text is nice, I like the style, but you should have moved the text a little to the right.

I'll go for TrueFusion, I really like the detail in your image :P

  8. Well, I have 512 MB ram. That thingy you talked about was at 756MB, so that shouldn't be any problem. But I don't think it's a spyware or virus or something like that, as I already said, the program that used most RAM was firefox, and my CPU usage never goes above 15%. So something is probably wrong with my system, which is a Windows XP SP2.

ameribass' suggestion for a diskdrive defrag should be on your priority. also, might as well clear out your harddrive for unnecessary files, in case you are running out of disk space and it would surely slow down your PC. but in the likelihood that you are using a drive with huge space still available, maybe you can consider the possibility of partitioning it into smaller partitions if you can (be careful on this one, as partitioning is supposed to be done most effectively on a clean/newly-formatted harddrive; otherwise you may lose precious data. backup, backup, backup.).

Yes, I have only used about 10-15GB of 160GB, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Oh I wasn't able to split the harddisk into smaller partitions when I got the computer, I don't know why though.

    And merge these triple posts

    Notice from serverph:
    merged 3 posts.

  9. Well, my harddisk is working and working and working, and everything is really slow. All the time, I hear the computer working in the background. I've tried to restart the computer twice, but it doesn't fix it...I think the harddisk is working instead of the RAM, but I have no clue why...Anyone knows who to fix it?By the way, when I was about to click the submit button, firefox stopped responding, and I had to wait 15 secs. (and then I wrote this paragraph)

  10. With that kind of visitation, I'd put some kind of money making ads/clicks. Imagine if only 20% clicked and even if you get 0.01 cents a click, that's $2 a day! That's about $60 a month. I'm not saying anything mean but I'd think about dedicated server if I was you. I've seen dedicated server starting at $40.00 a month with virtually unlimited bandwidth with 40GB space. I can start my own hosting place and make even more money...

    180854[/snapback]

Wow I've never tought about that, but yeah it's true...

    But why do some sites ask their visitors "please <- snipped -> or donate to help us stay" when they very likely get enough money to pay their site + 10 other sites?}
