I'm glad I'm not the only one who realizes that things just arent right in this situation.I realize some of these people who are on TV trying to raise money actually do put forth some effort and donate some money themselves..My main concern is the second part I spoke about.. How on any average day, you'd never catch any of those people on TV raising money to help decrease poverty.. etc etc.Anyway. Like I said. I'm just glad I'm not the only one who feels like there should be more effort in helping our own countries when there are no tragedies going on in other parts around the world.Hugs, and thanks for your responses.Amby

LOL I was in my live chat room once, its for self-injury (of course).. and this woman came in, and started talking about her son breaking his arm while playing soccer. Im sitting here thinking to myself.. What does this have to do with self-injury. LOL. So after she is done telling her story of him and his broken arm, I ask her if she self-injures. She said well.. I suppose I am a bit clumsy, but not like my son! LOL.I was so confused.. Anyway.. She thought that my room was for people who were clumsy and got hurt a lot. LOL. I was like oh hunni, this is so sad.. I almost hated telling her what it was about. LOL. She was shocked, and needless to say didnt stay long after I told her what it really was.Hugs,Amby -
LOL You rock my socks Caveman. Texas really is a country of its own. Its HUGE. I honestly hate it here... lol. Whens your birthday? Amby

Self-injury Awareness Day March 1st-wear an orange ribbon

It isnt as wide spread as I'd like it to be. Thats why I've been trying my hardest to at least get the word out this way. On forums and such. You probably didnt know because self-injury is still looked at as being taboo and being evil.. Its sad.. People just dont want to face up to it as being a problem, and so its just going to keep spreading, and growing, and getting worse. I really hope this day and event will be more wide spread within the next couple years, or we're doomed.Hugs,Amby -
Do Read Your Old Diaries? this might appeal more to girls like me

Thats the best reason to write. To get things out of your system. Things you hate, dislike, love, etc. Its good to get all of that out, out of your system. All of those emotions build up eventually, and can cause some serious mental problems (oh trust me, I know. LOL. You're talking to a crazy woman afterall).. Anyway. Like I said, its good to get it all out, on paper, then burn it, tear it up or do whatever. Its a great way to get closure.Hugs,Amby -

It most definately has.. Im glad people have been so supportive. I usually have to endure a few immature and downright rude remarks when I talk about self-injury somewhere other than my own forum (or forums like it). So I appreciate the both of you being supportive. I really hope you will both wear an orange ribbon on March 1st. I would appreciate it a lot!Hugs,Amby -
People arent thinking of the tar and smoke they're inhaling in. They are thinking of the feeling they will get after inhaling. It calms people down.. Who knows.. Some people need it to cope. No one said it was healthy. LOL. Its not, everyone know thats. They just dont like to concentrate on that when they light up, it ruins the feeling. Anyway.. I wish everyone could cope in some very healthy normal way, but lets face it, it'll never happen. So I say do what you have to do. I would rather them smoke a cigarette to clam their nerves than to do something worse. (wont mention other options).Hugs,Amby

Yes its very wide spread. A lot of people use it, even some people everyone would know. Such as Princess Diana, Angelina Jolie, Christina Ricci, and Johnny Depp. Its hard to quit. It becomes an addiction, like smoking. We become attached to it, and it becomes something very precious to us. Some people can quit very easily, but for most people it is very hard to quit. Thanks for asking questions. I appreciate the interest.Hugs,Amby -
I think that raising money for the tsunami tragedy is a great thing, but there are a few things that really p me off about the whole situation..For instance.. On TV, you see all these rich people trying to get us (middle class nobodies) to give our money to people. I would be more than happy to give money, what I can, to those who need it. I wonder though, how much money have THEY donated to this cause? I read an article (can't remember where) that spoke about such things. Its ridiculous to see them on TV telling us to give them money, but they wont give a penny. Or if they do, they dont give much. They can afford to give plenty, a few thousand, or more.. But.. If they do donate, they dont give much. Its ridiculous..Another thing that really p's me off, more so than whats stated above, is the fact that these same role models of ours only get on TV to raise money when someone somewhere else in the world is suffering.. (im in the US by the way).Anywho.. Here in the US. Poverty is a huge problem. I drive down the street to the local food store, and on the way I see at least 5 homeless people begging for money. So these people, on TV raising money.. How often do you see them on TV raising money for our own country? For our own people who suffer ever day. For our citizens who have to sleep under a bridge somewhere just to stay dry. Never.. Never once have I seen any of these people on TV raising money for our own damn country. Its ridiculous really.. Anyway.. Im glad I've gotten that off of my chest.I feel better now, well not really.Amby

To release emotions, and pain. Its a coping mechanism, not a healthy one however. Its being described (as i said) as the new epedemic. Yet, even though it has become a huge part of our society, people still tend to ignore it. No one wants to face up to the fact that it will be here, to stay, if we dont do something about it NOW. Anyway. Ive been going around to every forum I've ever visited spreading the word, hoping maybe someone will take my advice and wear an orange ribbon. Or better yet hand out a few. Anyway. Im rambling now. Forgive me.Hugs,Amby -

I'm 17 years old. Will be 18 june 8th, coming up very soon. Cant wait! Legal age here in Texas. I think I'll go out and buy a pack of smokes even though I quit over a year ago. Then I'll go and get all pierced and tatted up, just because I can, even though I am not fond of either of the two. Then.. Maybe.. Just maybe.. I'll get married, because I can.. Okay maybe not. LOL.Hugs,Amby

I used to smoke cigarettes, but quite over a year ago. Im not sure why I really started. I think it is because I saw my friends light up everytime they had a bad day, or a fight with a loved one. At the time I was really stressed, and having a bad time. So I figured, ah what the hell, might as well cut a few more years off my life span. LOL. I still light up every now and then, when things get bad. LOL. But only once in a blue moon.
