  1. LOL. Mouse inside the case ? How big was the skeleton, sheepdog ? I guess it has to be those holes for graphic or network cards or whatever cards that leaves the case space open. I have network card space open from which cockroach always enters inside. I found one attempting for suicide near processor fan. I mean seriously what attracts them to processor fan ? air ?
  2. Exactly. You want more traffic to your site than those article directories right ? So you should link from articles to your site. Single domain link is myth. Think about it, there are many sub folders and sub domains which are treated differently with different PR and SE value. So how come it is treated same ? for example. ahsan.astahost.com and starscream.astahost.com will have different PR right ? When we have different PR on same domain then we also give out different value of link juice to outgoing links on same domain, right ? So now what do you think about this single domain link myth ? :PWhy you want to give links to hubpages ? They only allow you to link 2 times to your domain. They're placing limitation on you with such low number. If it were 5 times i could understand but this limit is very low for single domain. So only use hubpages to get link for your own site instead of giving links to them. Don't link from your site to hubpages, you're wasting your linkjuice to that site. Only give linkjuice to your own site or friends or your favorite site. Do business with people who do business, in this hubpages. Always link to your friends or your own sites or blogs which are relevant to your site or are friends.
  3. Yes, you should because wordpress will allow you to do lot of SEO hacks using plugins which even drupal and joomla lacks. Wordpress does have simple themes that are similar to your old html sites. I suggest you to search for more information on how much static content and design you want from wordpress or put your requriements here so that we can work on it. I'll see how much i can help. I disagree with the article that you linked with many points. Wordpress is not developer friendly ? Ans - really ? in that case they are wrong. If you can code simple 2 column html page then in just few minutes you can come up with a better theme. How's that for wordpress not being developer friendly ? wordpress plugins are much easy to develop and maintain than joomla and drupal, want facts ? Community complains ? LOL. this guy who wrote article looks like noob to me. I mean seriously, he makes point that developer friendliness is lacking in wordpress and then he claims community complains. I stopped respecting his views the moment i saw this point. Upgrade brings more bugfixes ? ROFL. now this is height from that article writer. This guy has no idea how much stable wordpress is and what are bugs to begin with. How come he claims developer non-friendlyness and then talk about bugfixes ? That article is 1 year old and the author is not bringing valid points to table. So let's ignore it. He didn't commented on security, learning curve, plugins and quick fixes. So it's upto you to either go with that article authors views or find your own way to get better CMS for yourself. Tell me after trying wordpress and drupal which CMS you found more easy to learn and do things ? if it's wordpress then go with it, if it's drupal fine.
  4. One more way to do things is by making blog installation on another folder and getting feed on frontpage. But in order to parse feeds i guess you need some external parser for HTML pages. Instead of all this it is better to get one CMS and then use the layout the way you want.
  5. Wordpress is not good for non-blog or static site ? that is news to me. ha ha. Wordpress is one of the easy CMS out there for coding and learning curve. By taking the difficult CMS like drupal you made things much more difficult for yourself. SEO is much easy with CMS like wordpress that even google employees like matt cutts prefer wordpress for his site. Anyway, leaving you at drupal to discover. Sorry but have to break this bubble of wordpres being not-good for static site. Make sure you join drupal forum to get most of the questions answered for you. There is lot of learning curve for drupal and you have to read a lot of documentation. Joining their forum can give you quick answers for your problems. I have seen people getting their answers on official forum than on here at Xisto.
  6. Yes. You can use any theme you like for wordpress or even use themes as simple or as complicated as possible for you. In order to code themes you need to know a little bit of CSS (which i guess you already know) and php tags for wordpress. Once you know this much you can easily code a simple wordpress for your website, wordpress is CMS not just blogging engine. It has option to make your page look like static site. You just have to play with theme and the static setting to get the look and feel and static feel of it. I think you are missing a lot of google value by making your page static, what's wrong with blog ? google and other search engines will do depending on if your site has dynamic or static content. Dynamic content has more chances of ranking better and getting found. You don't have to tell others that it's blog, just remove tags, date and other things from theme to make it look like static site. That''s enough for you, try wordpress it is much better.
  7. For processing speed and bigger forms CForms seems to be the best option. Contact form 7 is cool and it's okay for small forms. But if you want to do quick things with forms without having to worry about the details or code then gravity forms is good option. Gravity is paid software by the way but it is more powerful and comes up with various options that will make form development easy. Other than these three there are some custom solutions for forms which are limited to some theme frameworks that i know. But Cforms is enough for your needs is what i can say.
  8. Make sure your content is not copied when you link from your site to those article directories or web 2.0 sites. Do one thing, always link from xomba, hubpages, infobarrel to your site. Never link to these articles on other site from your own domain. Why pass links to other sites which have restriction to linking ? Instead get links from them so that it helps for your reputation. And NO. Your articles will not be treated negatively as there is nothing wrong for linking from articles to some related or unrelated sites. Related site link will help both article and that site while unrelated link will only help that site and not article. Google either helps your rank or discards it, penalizing is not immediate as google goes through various process to devalue or remove you from search engines. Why think about it if you're paying attention to content ?
  9. CMS let's you organize your articles, search for it, label it, tag it for search engines, categorize for it for your own use and many more. This you can't do with static websites and many SEO hacks will just take your time, so it is better to use CMS.One thing you can do is sign up at : wordpress.com and then learn how to post on blog, how to create a page. This way you can learn what CMS is and how to use it for your static website purpose. It makes things very fast for you and you'll find yourself spending time in productive things than doing simple HTML tricks. Kontera is annoying type of advertising. Unless you desperately want to annoy visitors i suggest not to use this advertising model. Kontera is roll-over,in-text ad model which is hated by both publishers and readers. Think about it, if you want more clicks to google adsense then why to use kontera at first place ? you're loosing google adsense clicks because of kontera. What is your motive ? annoy readers or to earn money ? decide on that choose the best model for your advertising.
  10. I use small vaccum cleaner to clean my laptop and desktop. I often found a lot of dust on my old CRT and very less on LCD. I don't know what attracts less dust on LCD and more on CRT based monitors. I have seen CRT screens and the small ventilation points filled with dust and in such cases i make sure to wipe it out. Vaccum cleaner which are charged with USB port are good to use these days and you can keep near table.
  11. The issue with internet explorer and firefox is that they use different rendering engine. IE being the microsoft product is not associated with any open source or other popular kit, not evern webkit. So your site's display will look different to IE, Mozilla, safari and chrome. One thing you can do for now is to search for the IE specific div tags and modifications that will keep display consistent with both these browsers. But on serious note, stop worrying about internet explorer because more and more people are going to switch to chrome or firefox.
  12. Exactly. Sometimes you have to annoy people to take action but not that annoyance which turns them off your site forever. You have to look at the site decent navigation structure which shouldn't be disabled by adding ads. Once you choose a good CMS we can suggest you nice themes that are good for your site. But as of now just work on whatever you have till you learn about CMS or get hosting if haven't yet. If you're placing kontera and infolink ads then make sure you disable adsense from site because it will lower your CTR anyway. Konter/infolinks is not suitable for medical niche sites because people are looking for information and annoying them such ads will reduce your traffic and backlinks(which prospect reader is likely to bring).
  13. If your hubscore (which is shown at the avatar image) is more than 75 then your links are dofollow. Dropping the score below that number change your all links from all hubs to nofollow. In order to improve your hubscore follow these points 1. make sure your content is unique. Don't copy content from one site to another, adsense will be disabled for you. Your score will be down, so write new and original content in your own words even if it contains mistake. 2. If one of your hubs gets no traffic and links then sue "suggest link" button on top of that hub to give links to random pages on hubs, this will also improve hubscore and in turn hub karma. 3. Avoid forums but participate on answers section, this will get you some traffic. You can answer questions from medical section. PR 0 ? every PR link is valuable if it is relevant to your niche (topic). If you're getting traffic from PR0 to click on your ad or to interact with you, then you want to neglect that ? Stop chasing race of PR, just worry about adsense CTR and traffic, backlinks. Hope this helps to get started.
  14. CMS means content management system. Wordpress, joomla and drupal are some one the softwares which are known as content management systems. These content management system allows you to create static or dynamic content on your domain. You can also create static site with them but here you get more control and flexibility than typical HTML page editing Wordpress.com is online CMS which you can try before installing it on your domain. Make sure you learn how to create page, posts and links while you're using it. I suggest you to sign up at wordpress.com and then start blogging random things about life or etc just to learn how this software works. Once you understand how this works you can install wordpress on your domain from ite - wordpress.org's software zip file. You can also use fantastico on your control panel to install wordpress. FWIW, i'll explain why Static HTML files are not good for you. Imagine you are going to upload 100 pages or articles on your site and now think how harder it is to maintain the site. In such case CMS helps you organize files, images, links and pages of your site. It also helps you with layout or themes. You get almost everything that you need for static or dynamic site plus you can do a lot more than what you can't with static site. I'm sure vhortex will add some more points to convince you to use cms be it any- wordpress, joomla or drupal. You need CMS, choose simple in order to make things easy. Wordpress and habari are the easy to learn and i suggest trying wordpres at wordpress.com online service before installing wordpress on your site.
  15. Instead of eliminating the caste system people are enjoying the benefits of staying in caste. They make this issue emotional purposefully in order to reap benefits later. I do understand that castes that under poverty ratio should get benefit but i guess people will never grow if they stand on stick of religion and caste. Caste/religion doesn't solve any problem rather creates more and i guess caste should be eliminated from now on in this country. But what's the point ? people are loving it already with such benefits who will bother about people who are saying castes are unnecessary ?No one.
  16. Looking at the activity here and the number of threads people post. If you don't revive old threads then there is no chance you can get mycents in that week. Thanks to many newbies they bump old topics and we get something to chew on. Otherwise this forum is long dead and even if old members post threads here i doubt it'll get more than 4-5 replies. I did that last month and got only 2-3 replies. I guess no other option than waiting for threads or bumping the old threads. Looking at the way admins are ignoring us with this deadmycent (not deadmadcent ), i feel nothing wrong at bumped topic replies, seriously i mean it.
  17. Plus no matter what happens always put one ad in sidebar. It usually doesn't annoy readers and many clickthroughs go for that block. People have tendency to get attrcted towards anything flashy in sidebar. not flashy in sense of annoyance but just for distraction that they want. You should place ads like google image ads or other paid ads which are in block of size 320x225 or 125x125. I disagree with kontera advice because kontera annoys people and many times they don't link to site that annoys them. You should definitely keep readers instead of annoying them. It's possible to make money by annoying people but in longer run it'll make you exhaust by driving traffic to such sites which ultimately annoys people.
  18. That maybe a drawback but he's static site with HTML pages makes atomz as only option to add search engine to his site. Google's search will have ads that is for sure and if not ads then i don't know how they are going to offer it for free.I think ahsan should upgrade to wordpress or similar CMS, these are very small task which are not necessary to think online if you're using CMS. I mean static sites is not the way to go faster on web anymore. Sure, you'll learn about how to create web pages but its not gonna fetch other big results so for writing and fetching traffic it's better to get CMS.
  19. I think you should have moved it to reliable host like hostgator or some better VPS or services. Xisto is reliable but looking at the current state of support on forums and broken things. I think you should keep looking for better host. I purchased hostgator and going to move few sites to them. Though i think for domains you can still use xisto though. I'll check and review new domain once i get on desktop to view your URL.
  20. Opaque promised for wisdom flag and never implemented it effectively which eliminates spam. He also promised for the linking juice benefit that triggers increase in mycent-i mean he said in mycent 2.0 thread about linking to wiki, flickr or established site but he didn't implemented it. Do yourself and to others a favor by opening topic in section where we all get mycents. Avoid opening topic in support, answers thread because it gives no mycents(as if we are getting consistently anyway).
  21. Kontera is horrible when it comes to conversion and it also annoys. It might work on gossip or celebrity blog because all the people do is click. So those niche may be profitable but not all. Infolinks is much slower than kontera and click value is also low. Advertisers are limited in number and there isn't much from them to established sites. If you want to keep readers on tech niche site then avoid placing kontera ads. People literally get annoyed with this and leave the site only to never come back.
  22. Haha hostgator's domain registry was in denial during 80% offer so used my existing domain to get package :D, 80% off was alive only for 1hour:30 minutes... damn

  23. Search engine ? I don't get it you don't want to use search feature of wordpress, drupal or joomla but want to add external ? Correct me if i misunderstand you. During 1999-2006 there was Atomz and google for site searching. Google still has thing option under adsense but it rarely converts and people these days don't click on search ads if they get it from results. But still you can add that. If not google adsense then there is Lijjit search. This search engine is good for listing and getting some bucks from the search results. They show CPM i.e. cost per mile ads on your widget and you get paid. I'm using that on one of my blogspot blogs and earning is bit low but there is less content so you can understand the depth of conversion. Try lijjit if you want to add search to your site.
  24. Hard job ? man, we are talking about money here. Money doesn't come easily and you know it. Even simple form creation takes your time which can be traded with paid tools so, when it comes to money nothings hard. Just do it. It does generate money because almost everyone is doing it. Make sure that once you get stuck with traffic you have to find ways to generate more traffic. If you have friends from pakistan or other countries then ask them to promote your site by linking in their blogs. This will give some trusted backlink which is not spammy. If helium or any site restricts you for such linking then you have to follow their rule. But in that case don't give links to those site, i mean why give links to site that restricts you ?Avoid such conservative sites in your linking strategy. :PJust follow their TOS and build links only for sites where you are allowed to link. And everything will be fine.
  25. Hubpages requires some time to get noticed by search engine traffic. But once SE gets noticed money starts rolling in. You need to have some patience with hubpages and meanwhile improve your gramma because grammar and typo based hubs don't convert well with google adsense. One thing you can do is sign up to those revenue sharing sites and publish content similar to(not copy) of your helium article and then make sure you interlink these pages. For example, link from helium article to hubpages and hubpages to jevitt or other writers sites. This is just for starters i'll let you know about it if you explain me your side, niche and writing via PM.
