If i'm not wrong then youtube doesn't accept flash files. avi and mpeg files on the other hand are accepted and compressed. Not sure which regional channel you have in youtube and depending on that site rules will apply. Vimeo also has similar rules as per geographical location.I'm not sure low bandwidth users can upload video that easily on these networks but small powerpoint videos are easy to upload.

Myspace is still suitable for musicians and artists. Myspace has music widgets which are better than facebook. You can add music player in myspace which you can't in facebook. But facebook goes with saying, you can add video. But not all things are in video format so what's the point ? It's not that myspace is going to die in next 2 years anytime soon. More and more people still using myspace as promotional place for their music, art and other items. Facebook is good but it gets in the way of personal life and professional life. People are forced to create multiple ID in order to maintain that balance. This is not the case with myspace as it is always professional place to begin with.

If you're asking for file size limit then there is 10mb limit on every extension file. More than that is not enabled on atleast old servers. If my memory serves right then opaque yet to update the specifiction from Xisto - Support and other sites. Memory limit for shared servers is not mentioned anywhere. There are plenty of small CMS out there i really get confused which to give you first for pointers. So i suggest looking at perch, WolfCMS and PageLime CMS. I have personally used WolfCMS and Perch so i can tell you that these are smallest possible with features. You can also think of some CMS requirement and build from there. For example, consider the requirement of landing page. People want to use landing page for selling things or items or as ad landing page. If you can make simple CMS for that then there is no need to install big CMS like drupal or joomla or wordpress for this. Simple CMS that you develop will be used for landing page. If you can build such targeted small CMS then this will not only help you learn but actually address the needs of people in the market. You don't even have to compete with any other CMS as you're targeting specific audience.

I can create my own wordpress themes by converting HTML layouts to wordpress theme using wordpress tags. Now only thing that i have yet to learn or try is creating options page for the themes. By options i mean anything that allows user to control theme from dashboard setting page. Let's say if i want users to add their own analytics code by giving them text area on page and after they hit submit that tracker should get into wordpress footer code where it can execute and track google analytics as it does. So main question here is how to create options page which allows user to add such code to footer or header ?Another point is that if i want to let user handle the color and typography options from the options page. One thing that i would like to tell you. You need to stop reinventing the wheel on some points. Take a look at codes of others and simplify what you think is complex or don't like. This making CMS without looking at other's code or without branching will only make you look feel disappointed after some time because you're starting from scratch and there is very little you are brainstorming without taking feedback. Best solution is make things simple first then get feedback, ask others to join you. I mean keyword research when i said google title- you do keyword research right ? If not i suggest you to start doing keyword research if you want to write outside the medical domain. Xomba wants you to bookmark only the pages where you have written article. Don't bookmark articles which are not yours. Xomba has lot of internal traffic and therefore they reduced the word count limit. Usually google expects good content to have 300 words but xomba's internal traffic makes it possible to have a low amount. So don't worry about it, just bookmark your own pages (of your static or blog site).

Drop down menu will be mess but it's not the only way to go things right ? As i said in another thread you can create menu like shown in site - telegraph.co.uk. This menu is not drop down but more of roll over or clickover menu which will create child under parent menu item in horizontal way. This horizontal menu is more structured layout that drop down menu. You don't have to force drop down view on parent child menu items. I hope you get it. There are many menu items styling possible if you can look at the wordpress menus tutorials. Make sure you code those menus correctly because you want to go deep level and keeping the looks good.

Dropdown menu is created only when you add child page to the current parent page. For your default site without any child page it will not create any drop down menu. By the way even K2 will create drop down menu if you add child page to it. Don't just go by the looks, this functionality is in almost every CMS out there. Just because one theme shows you drop down doesn't mean it can't be removed or disabled.For header, i mean that 2010 theme comes up with it's own header which is not related to your site. So while editing you should replace it with your own header. Or you can make it without header to keep things simple for you and readers. You can modify the header by going into the theme directory and then locating 2010 theme and by checking the header image. Replace it with your own or remove the CSS value for image by going into appearance >editor >style.css. You can also modify values for header in CSS files for broad or narrow view.You can add google ads inside wordpress by using advertising manager plugin. It accepts code from many ad networks and suggests you better position for it. But Make sure you place google ad in sidebar in order to earn more. You can change the color of buttons and links by editing the css of the theme. I suggest keeping backup of old theme in case you mess up with things. Do the css editing offline and if you like the effects then upload the css via ftp editor.

Instead of this you can make things much easier. Create rollover menus and then when clicked on page 1 parent, it should generate child pages below it, not in drop down fashion but in horizontal menu fashion. This is better styling in my opinion because it preserves other links. You can see site telegraph.co.uk which is having such menu system. In between you have to create custom menu for every page and then feel it up for the child pages. It's going to be a lot complex and with you limited on HTML and CSS and php stuff expect it to take more time than usual static site building. Mono has good performance atleast on ubuntu and there is one team working at ubuntu which helps app compatibility and testing. So if you're getting any app from official repository then chances are it is already tested and working. Most of the compatible apps of mono are already in repository and many people are not even aware of that it's there in the repository of ubuntu.About app outside the universe repo, i think people need to work on their own for that. Search for simple sidebars plugin on the google. This plugin sets different sidebars on your theme and it allows your page to be different per template or per page. This is very handy if you want different content per page. Theme makes same appearance on all pages, though content can be varied. By the way, why you said template should be different for static site per page ? this is wrong. different page template per page is bad design for users. I mean from the theme point of view. Keep the design consistent and change the content and the layout of new page using sidebar and other widgets. I'm not clear with most of your views so it'll take time to catch up with you. Current default theme called 'twenty10' is very basic and by just editing the header you can get very powerful simple static design. You don't any other theme if you just want adsense optimized simple static theme. Twenty10 is fast loading and the typography is also very good which i suggest to those who are new to wordpress. Just make sure you change the header to something related to your own site that will do instead of searching other themes. If you want another theme read on..Other than that there are plenty of good themes for static sites - thematic is one of them. Thematic is simple, white, 2 column theme that you can modify easily to your way in order to get the static feel. Thematic is very powerful theme which is very simple looking like 2010 theme and can let you customize many things for ads. K2 is theme suitable for weblogs but can be modified to look good for static sites. If you want a theme for adsense ads then this one is perfect. I used it on many friends site to get some optimization rolling. How to setup themes ? Simple. Just go to appearance tab and then go to themes menu. One you get to this page you get some preinstalled themes page. You can see the upload link on that page. Use the uploader to upload the themes from your computer to wordpress. If it doesn't work on Xisto due to permission issue (i know servers behave crappy sometimes) then you have to manually add to wp-content/themes directory on your cpanel. Plugins if you need will require to setup using same method like themes only you have to go to plugins page and use the uploader and search functions to search and install plugins. If it fails for asta then manually upload the plugins. For your static site make these changes. Go to your dashboard> settings (which is bottom tab). Go to discussion menu and there uncheck the options for trackbacks, comments and notify other blogs option. This will make your site more static and will not give dynamic updates or ability to comment on your static page.

You don't need to use plugin for this simple thing. Plugins are used to extend the capability of the CMS. In this case, the thing that you want is already possible with wordpress core modules. Hubpages restricts you to two links to same domain. So yes hubpages has restriction, i prefer not to link them much in most cases. I give lots of links to friends or other articles but only 2 links to hubpages. There are no traces of life on this solar system other than earth. If the aliens are there outside then they are likely to be outside milky way or in some another galaxy's solar system. If they have capability to visit other civilizations, then do you think they'll make visible flight systems ? If they're semi advanced when it comes to galactic travel let's assume then why they'll try to show their plane/pod anyway. they may land on dead-areas or ghost towns and from there they may take shape of humans or will do the observation in hidden mode. New forum upgrade brought this issue for missing posts. We're seeing this issue ever since forums are upgraded to new version. So that is the real problem, there needs to be some bug fix from IPB's side. Not sure how threads are going down but i have seen plenty of my replies not getting there, it's not frequent but once in month it is possible.

So if we're selfish then so he's because we're churning out content for him which is earning so much revenue for him and return getting these low mycent.Don't tell me this forum gets low SE attention and has less traffic.
