i think your include function should be like this include ("filename.php"); otherwise, i don't really see any error.
-
Here's a quick guide to it. 1. Download your theme. 2. Login in via FTP to your Xisto account 3. extract your file 4. in your FTP manager, click the folder that holds your forum. (example: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - you get the point ) 5. Now that you're in the foler, click click templates, (you've said you can't find the templates folder, which is really wierd, try to look closer) 6. You SHOULD, but not nessarily see another foler called "SubSilver", that is the default template that you are using on your forum now. 7. Simply drag and drop your theme (example: nosebleed, corundum, whatever) into your templates folder. DO NOT put it in the Subsilver one. you should have something like this >forum (This is the giant folder that holds your forum) ->templates -->SubSilver -->Your theme Notice that Your theme and subsilver shold be in the same directory. 8. Now, simply log on into your admin panel, which should be on the bottom of your forum when you login. 9. On the left side of the admin sidebar, under the "Styles Admin" Category, click "Add". You should see the name of your theme that you just placed in the template folder. 10. Click the Install theme button 11. Now, go to your general admin control panel and click "configuration". under the "General Board Settings" you should see something like this: Override user style Replaces users style with the default chnage it from SubSilver to the name of your theme, which should be in the drop down menu Your Done! Sorry if I made this too long. If you still don't get it, PM me and I'll install the theme for you. -whyme

heh heh, can't forget that either.

hmm... well, I'm going to assume that you're installing a phpBB or similar kind of forum modification. Whenever you install mods, it should usually come with an instruction or readme file. simply follow those instructions and you should be ready to go. If you're not sure about what files you should edit, you should email the creator of the script. Also, you will usually edit a file in the public_html directory of your cpanel screen. go to the file manager, and click public_html , then click the name of the folder that holds your forum. if you give me more specs on what kind of forum and what kind of mod that you are using I can help you more.-whyme

This email looks legit, but as for the email address itself, i am unsure. However, since that your webhosting account has not been suspened, and i checked your site, and it is still functioning, sp it is probably a spoof email by some malicoius person.

Notice from Dooga: Warning: You may be promoting something illegal and may not know it yourself. Please avoid Pyramid schemes as they are serious and can result in your bank or PayPal account being banned. A pyramid scheme involves referring many people while you first pay a few dollars to each person on some sort of list. Most likely you have to modify the list and add your name, while promoting that list. They often come with a convincing story about how this is perfectly legal. Do not fall for that. In this forum for money makers, members will post links to a vast variety of sites. The Internet is a very big place, and because of that, you can easily get scammed, and this is the point of this thread. Here's some points I'd like to address before you think about joining any of these "Surf and get 50 bucks an hour" or "Read emails and get 30 dollars an hour". This is meant to make this forum a resource of good money makers, and for the benefit of Xisto members. Sometimes, even the members who suggest these sites on this forum don't even know they're getting scammed. There have been some sites on this forum which have been revealed as scams. As always, keep caution when joining these sites. 1. Before joining, I highly recommnend you visit this "Earning Money Online" forum, it has a reliable community of people who share and talk about money earning sites. Take a quick look through them, and look around and see if the site you are joining is posted as a scam on their site. If so, then you should consider not to join. Furthermore, this site has a great source of reliable sites that will actaully pay you. If you really want to protect yourself, you can do a search on the website for the URL of the site. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ 2. Look at the list of sites that are already identifed as scams using the following links below: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (Doesn't work as of who knows when) 3. Like how the old saying goes: If it looks too good to be true, then it probably is. Keeping these points in mind, it's time to start earning some money!!

I joined it, and it gave me $200 for signing up, it seems a bit...to good to be true, is it really legit? I mean, have any of you actaully been paid?

Trojan Removal How to/Best software for removal
whyme replied to gunbound's topic in Security issues & Exploits
It's quite likely that the trojan is still in your computer, i highly recommend that you get a Virus Removal Tool such as Norton or McAfee, the spyware removal program you downloaded isn't liekly to have found the trojan, as it only has a spyware definition list, and not a virus one. If you don't want to go into the burden of buying an anti-virus program, a good free anti-virus program called Avast Anit-Virus, they're really reliable and should be able to find the trojan (assuming that there is one). download it at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ -
wow, very nice design, i especially like the font and glow that you used.

Phpbb Exploit PhbBB exploits unleashed
whyme replied to liridonahm's topic in Security issues & Exploits
phpBB's servers just got hacked into a few months ago, once again breaking the cue that Open Source is not always as good as you think. Anyways, they've fixed up a number of security flaws since then. -
Does Michael Jackson Love Young Boys? what you think
whyme replied to truman69's topic in General Discussion
Iono, but Micheal Jackson is just plain creepy in my opinion, I'm neutral on this one, both sides are really contradictory. -
I did a little search for an OS 9 Password Retrieval Tool, but no luck in finding one. I doubt that there is a program for the OS 9 now, I suggest that you visit an Apple specific software site, or search the Apple.com knolwegde base.-whyme

heh heh, what a crazy morning you've had today.

the site itself looks good, but what you need is for Search Engines to crawl your site, it doesn happen automactailly, I recommned that you post your site link on your Xisto signature, so when Google crawls the Xisto forum, it'll see your site link. Also, visit blogs and comment on them, and include your site link too. Within a few weeks, your site should be on Google. Another point, as other members have pointed out, is that you need to know what type of audience you are targetting, so you need to define what content you may want on the website, if it has nothing, people won't go there, because there's no point in that.again, a nicely designed site, but needs to keep the following points in mind.

a nice site you have here, however, your right sidebar is a little hard to read with the darkgrey and blue background contrast. Otherwise, your site looks fantastic!

once again a nice tutorial, would be better if there was a screenshot

I'm something of an amatuer photographer, so, if you're lacking images to use, yuo can borrow some photographs that I have taken on various trips and stuff. Go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ , and click on the Gallery Link. ~whyme -
yup, air canada is going to jack up the prices along with westjet now that the famous $1 trips from vancouver to toronto are gone
-
don't be mistaken, curling is REALLY boring, but apparently, it's the only sport that we're good at, becasue no other country plays it. We only have the toronto raptors, (we USED have the grizzlies, damn GST), the only basketball team in Canada, the Expo's from baseball are gone. Essentailly, the only thing that we have left is hockey, o wait, dang it, we've lost that too. (Curse you, Gary Bettman!!!!). So now you see that curling is the #1 sport in Canada, well, in actaul fact, only 0.01% of the Canadian population watched curling.

Yes! As I devout Interent Expolrer user, (Well, I used FireFox for 4 weeks), I'm happy that another secutiry flaw is found in FireFox. EVeryone that uses firefox has a false sense of secuirty that Fireox is 100% fail safe and that Internet Explorere sucks. What's really casuing the problem is not IE's coding, but rather the popularity of it. Whatever is the most popular, hackers wil target that, as firefox gets more popular, it will get more and more flaws.

Iframes (and Other Annoyances) Grrrrrr
whyme replied to lordofthecynics's topic in Web Hosting Support
it's not ashard as you think, simply save the page as .php instead of .html, then instead of placeing the iframe tag below,<iframe="newsandupdates.html" />replace it with the following<? phpinclude ("newsandupdates.html") ?>then you're done!
