  1. I personally found that the best ranked websites are people who submit designs to http://www.oswd.org/ with their link in the design. However, not everyone wants to devote hours to make designs.
  2. I can't imagine javascript doing much damage to a computer. If you're really paranoid, you can turn off javascript, which won't really affect your browsing experience.
  3. Google does not have enough time to visit millions of people... why would they do it anyways?

    Anti-communism

Communism currently exist as modified versions. Some different "versions" of communism would be socialism, and democratic socialism (such as Canada where welfare and such compensations are commonly distributed). Communism is just an extreme on the ideologies. Communism doesn't actually involve dictatorship, although it could. It's based on an idea that everyone will have the same money, opinions, and religion, all except for a leader or a group of leaders. This is the ultimate flaw, as this group of leaders usually have too much power. Unless we get a group of unbias robots to control the society, communism doesn't work too well. Most countries aren't communist. China is currently a socialist country, and moving towards a socialist democracy. Of course, we know that North Korea is an extreme exception.
  5. Thanks for the website! I had a basic idea of what it was, but this clarified it more. Plus, now I got something to chat about with my physics teacher.
  6. I think that it's possible not like as a fantasy, but actually as different "states" of the universe. It's not something like "going through a black hole and ending up in a different universe"... more like "time isn't constant and hence we conclude that some parts of the universe are in different time states and space... etc."Somewhat going past the 4th dimension, but like I said this isn't supposed to sound like some comic book or a crappy sci fi movie.
  7. I haven't experienced anything where I was actually disturbed by a smell. I usually ignore it since it's none of my business. If it's really frequent and annoying I might just kindly advise someone like on MSN or something since it's less serious and I can integrate it into some kind of random pun that I make (but gets the message through... for example I sometimes make jokes about my friend being fat on MSN, and this sort of tells him that he's fat, but he doesn't take it as an insult).
  8. I use hotmail mainly because everyone else used it... and I use MSN messenger although I have every type of messenger just in case my friend doesn't have MSN messenger. I don't use my email for any really important things. For resumes and formal stuff I use my ISP's email since it's more authentic and impossible to be compromised (since you can always get it back by contacting in person your ISP in the case where it's hacked)
  9. Well having no minimum payout is good, but I think this is too much work for the pay you get from it. For example, devoting time on the internet to learn about stuff that can help you get a better job would be something better to do than clicking emails.
  10. Well it certainly sounds more authentic than some other sites that promise big cash. This small amount is a good tea time activity that can be used to eliminate that procrastination of christmas and birthday presents. Except because it isn't cash, some people might just reject it automatically.
  11. Apparently, these people just take advantage of script exploits, and don't really know any of your passwords or anything like that, so you have nothing to worry about. Just strengthen the security of your site! And also, all these "hacked" websites are on http://www.zone-h.org/ and the hackers themselves submit hacked websites there, so you can check that often to make sure your site isn't on there. What I would do is get another guestbook!
  12. For all you firefox fans out there, Firefox has officially launched the 2.0 version (yes the evil two point oh....). On oct 24th, numerous happy firefox users were notified of this update . Firefox hasn't updated the browser for quite a while, and after Opera 9 came out, Firefox just lost its users. And with IE 7 catching up, firefox needed to do better. And it did. First of all, we notably see that the Firefox website https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/?utm_source=getfirefox-com&utm_medium=referral is now looking pretty snazzy. Other than the random "web 2.0" headers and reflections, it looks fantastic. I think that the "web 2.0" is really here, with Firefox, two point oh. Some more info if you want to fight yourself for choosing IE or Firefox: http://betanews.com/2006/10/25/firefox-2-0-vs-ie7-in-vista-how-close/
  13. Microsoft still haven't fixed that problem with the scrolling. Scrolling's a bit laggy for me.
  14. This is quite interesting. It's fun to read satire like this, I love indirect humor.
  15. Some viruses make the CPU run too fast, and then make sudden stops. This not only hurts your CPU, but it also hurts your hard drive and your fan.
  16. Why is North Korea testing so many times? It's not like the bomb won't blow up...They might be showing off, or threatening other countries.... something like "don't you dare attack my country" thing.Just a side note.... supposedly North Korea has only 1 single webmaster....nice site they have.... http://www.korea-dpr.com/ (don't want a direct link in case they don't like my comments and hunt me down lol) lol so web one point oh and their domain isn't even their own TLD since they probably don't have one. When you click ENTER you enter the nice webpage of their leader... :S Do they even have internet in North Korea? If you WHOIS the domain, you'll find that information is marked "NA" instead of the correct information, which is illegal of course...
  17. Well you probably noticed that larger companies (sony, toshiba, panasonic etc. and some medium sized companies such as "Insignia", "Prima" and "Akai") stopped making CRT monitors (at least, the traditional non-flat ones) and will soon be stopping flat screen TVs (I think). This is just like black and white TVs which are being sold a lot less than the past (and large/medium companies stopped these altogether for like 25 years).
  18. Try reuploading your forum. It won't rewrite your posts. You might want to make a backup before you do that just in case.
  19. @irmlm: Please clarify your question. Are you using a paid package at Xisto - Web Hosting.com? If you are, you should note that Xisto - Web Hosting did not state that unlimited subdomains would be provided.
  20. It's not that easy to get into the top 10 or 20 unless your site has a unique name AND someone actually searchs for that name. For example, if you site is called "AbbaCabbaTabba" and someone searchs that of course they would find your site first. But I doubt someone searchs that for fun...
  21. Google certainly does not cheat. I got my first (yay) cheque a couple of months ago, and it worked too... (yes I know I suck at Google adsense, but at least it's an extra few bucks to save...)
  22. I don't trust this. What happens if someone actually wins thousands of dollars? This isn't a believable business scheme, there must be a trick. (sure.... they don't cheat... ya right) They *probably* make it so that you win if you bet less than 10 cents or something, then you think it's easier to win so you bet higher....
  23. Well she got a new computer anyways so it doesn't matter. The problem with the old one is that the harddrive is actually damaged, so even booting in safemode won't work, and any excessive use of the harddrive (such as surfing the internet) will mess it up and almost make it not work for a couple of days. But it doesn't matter, since the computer was just a temporary (crap) one she had until she bought another one, and she did.
