I think Plenoptic hit the nail right on the head. If the system goes as low as $90, they'll start to lose money off the system. Right now they're still making quite a bit of money off the system, but when the PS3 comes more widely available like the Xbox 360 has in the past year, the PS2 will slowly leave the picture and the major emphasis will then be on the newer generation of gaming consoles. I can see it going for about $100 at the very cheapest.

I know it doesn't seem likely to be a problem with the keyboard, but have you tried using your computer with another keyboard to see if the one you're using now is the problem?

Ugh ads get on my nerves so much. The flash ads really piss me off. They make the annoying noise and most don't have the option to turn the sound off so I usually end up refreshing the page because I listen to music a lot and I don't want to turn the speakers off. And the ones that get bigger when you accidentally scroll your mouse over them, like the ones (sorry to say) here at Xisto. Those are really anoying, but they're an exception because putting up with them gets me free web hosting with none of those ads on my own site.

Being as least biased as possible here, I don't see how the Halo series can even compare to Grand Theft Auto. Honestly, I think Halo is overrated for the most part. I've played the games many times before so I have a justified argument, and I don't see how the games are that great. Say you're playing Halo 1. There's no Xbox Live, and all you have left is Multiplayer and Campaign Mode. And if there's nobody else to play, you have to play the Campaign Mode which gets boring after the first couple times you beat it. Halo 2 didn't have that great of storymode either, and even with Xbox Live it's just the same thing over and over.Grand Theft Auto (especially San Andreas) has so much stuff to do that it takes a while to get boring. I'll admit that I still play all the GTA games. The other day I picked up GTA3 and started playing it because it's been so long, probably 2 or more years. Unless you're just not a fan of the GTA series, most likely you would enjoy the games for quite a while since they have so much to offer.

Look around now at Circuit City or Best Buy, since it's the time to find good deals on external harddrives. I've come near filling up my 160GB external harddrive in about a year so this Christmas I'm shooting for a 500GB Western Digital external harddrive as an add-on to the storage I have already.

File-sharers Move Away From Bittorrent .. , Back to eDonkey
brandon10092 replied to DYABLO's topic in Science and Technology
I went from WinMX, to KaZaA, to Napster, to iMesh, and to LimeWire and BitTornado. I don't understand why people are moving away from BitTorrent. I still use it frequently. -
For me, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is still addicting. Every once in a while I'll pick up the controller and play it.

Which One Will You Go For, Xbox 360, Ps3 Or Wii?
brandon10092 replied to james2002's topic in Computer Gaming
As we all know you must be crazy to try to get a Playstation 3 now. With such low quantities wherever you look (excluding eBay where you're scammed a few thousand dollars on each one you buy) and high prices, I'll wait until they're more widely available and the price drops a bit, mabye around $100-$150 at least, which will happen in the next 2 years or so I'm hoping. -
Right now I just run a LIVE CD of SLAX whenever I want to mess around with Linux. Other than that I just use my Windows XP and (sadly) my old, crappy, and about-to-be-updated Mac OS 9.2 machines.

How Did You Get Gmail All GMail members Invited
brandon10092 replied to delivi's topic in The Internet
I just went through a "GMail swap website" (as you put it.) There's obviously sites where you enter your current email address and somebody sends an invitation to it and there you have a GMail account. The funny thing is that I just did this yesterday, after being without one for so long (a friend sent me an invitation and I accidentally deleted it and lost his email address.) -
That's pretty cool. I have a friend who's really big into coding and when he modified the ROM of DOOM, he made the last level boss you have to defeat wear a tutu.EDIT: By the way, has anybody here ever had any experience with modifying ROMS? What programming do you use and how do you read through to find certain portions to edit? Are there any programs that read ROM files?

Most school web blockers will block proxys if they have anything about proxy in the domain. For example, using proxify.com wouldn't be too bright of an idea to do at school for a couple reasons: 1. It will be blocked immediately because it has the word proxy in it (sort of.) 2. You will put that address in and once your school's web blocker records your IP and what site you were trying to get to, the school Administrator will know it right away. Being A LOT smarter would be creating a co.nr domain that points to your favorite proxy. Say you created something stupid like literaryterms.co.nr and pointed it towards a proxy. This would be smart because the school would never think to check that link since it's not obvious or even relevant to proxies, and if they did check it only then would you be caught. Don't be stupid people. If worse comes to worse write a batch file that will open command prompt, ping the site you want to go to, and then use that information to type in the site's IP instead of the domain name, eh? (P.S. The "eh" doesn't mean I'm Canadian.)

Free Domain For All. Give it a try...No charge at all...
brandon10092 replied to rex97's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I use co.nr. It's just another way of shortening the link to your site from your hosting link. For example, instead of iPodForums.trap17.com, it's iPodForum.co.nr. I would have a .com or .net domain right now but I'm a major cheapo, which would explain why I'm here. -
At the highschool I go to, unless you're talking a Senior and a Freshman going out, it really doesn't matter. Most older kids get along with the younger ones. So if you really like this girl you should ignore the "friend" that says she doesn't go out with Freshman and just ask her out. Especially if she flirts with you, what have you got to lose?

I love the classic consoles. I used to own two NES's until my mom sold one and threw the other one away, claiming "I didn't use them anymore." That's not even the point. Those things are so hard to find anymore. I saw one up at a pawn shop in my town once, but just my luck, they're not even there anymore so unless I go on eBay which I'm not a big fan of chances are I won't see one for a long time. I played my heart out constantly on Super Mario Bros. 3 though, and thanks for reminding me, I have to play that now since I have the ROM on my computer!

First Computer You Ever Owned What was the first personal computer tha
brandon10092 replied to ckuehner's topic in Software
My first computer was a Compaq with an Intel Pentium 4 Processor. It had about a 55GB harddrive, and when we got it it had 256MB of RAM, and it's about 4 and a half years old. Now I have my own Compaq computer which came with 512MB of RAM (which is now 1.5GB RAM,) a 145 GB harddrive, and an AMD 3000+ Processor. It's a little over 2 years old. -
Wow that is a nice phone. Now I'm kicking myself for going out right away and buying the Sony Ericsson z525a. It's not that bad of a phone but it definitely not even in comparison to this thing.

Repetitive Lecturing Teachers you gotta love them....
brandon10092 replied to Sinari's topic in The Vent
I've been in your situation before. If I were you and I had the guts, I'd walk right up there while he was talking and take over the lecture for him, since you've heard it on at least 2 other occasions. At least it would prove to him that he's like a parrot and says the same stuff over and over. Has anybody really "confronted" him about it and told him they've heard everything he says at least once before? -
Yep I've seen that. I actually read the tutorial on how to do it. It seems interesting but it's something that you've got to watch out for. If you think something was wrong somewhere change your password as soon as possible, or your MySpace will be screwed for no apparent reason other than to please some idiot.

Im Locked Out Of Windows Xp? I own the computer and im locked out
brandon10092 replied to illdevilinc's topic in Software
If you're a real techy you can boot up in DOS (F8-select Safe Mode with Command Prompt) then enter NET user localgroup(usually putting Administrator in place of localgroup is sufficient) username(whatever you want because most likely it will be temporary) /ADD then once you've entered it, your computer will have another Administrator account without even using Windows. Then you can try restoring with that, and if it doesn't work then something is definitely wrong. -
Smashmyps3.com Beware if you are a PS3 Fanboy
brandon10092 replied to brandon10092's topic in Computer Gaming
The Zen already came out (last Tuesday I believe) and I doubt it would create quite an uproar since they aren't even very popular at this state because they've just been released. -
I don't like AOL, never have. And they always screw you over one way or another. Don't ever fall for their 45 day free trial things either. They're a pain to cancel. But anyways... Is there a way to possibly cancel the domain?

Someone's always posting stuff as their own and not even putting it in quotes or supplying a link to credit the source. But other than that this is some good information that will boost traffic to your site greatly. What gets me though is how they say in that article that the 4 largest search engines are Yahoo, Altavista, Infoseek, and Lycos. But they don't even mention Google, which is probably the biggest of all of those.
