This Land Is My Land As Sung By Bush And Kerry and friends
husker replied to Saint_Michael's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, your about two years late SM, but it's still funny. That was really popular when the election was, and it has some truth to it. -
Birthing Lizards *Warning about Mature Subject Mattter*
husker replied to jlhaslip's topic in General Discussion
That was good. Oddly enough, my brother has a gecko named Bert. That was pretty funny and weird too. -
It's my first year in high school, and basketball started this week. But, our school didn't make any announcements about it, and still hasn't. So yesterday my mom called to see when it was (because we didn't know at this point) and the lady said to check this site. So I check it and find out that I missed practice yesterday. So, I figure it's no big deal since try-outs haven't started yet. I get all of the paperwork stuff ready and planned to go to practice today, which the site says was at 5 pm. I go at 5 pm and I see freshman LEAVING! I'm really fed up with this and our athletics site and staff, so I'm just going to talk to the coach tomorrow, and I hope he doesn't say that I'm too late, or else I will rip his head off! lol, jk, I just hope that I am not too late. I probably already missed a lot of stuff, which puts me at a disadvantage for the tryouts (which are Saturday, who knows what time it will be). I only made the C team last year, which isn't good. I'm trying to prove that I'm better than what everyone thought but how can I do that if I don't even know when practice is!!

Hi Jon Jon, welcome to Xisto. Xisto provides great hosting and I'm sure many people on here would agree. Malaysia sounds like a fun place to live. I'm 14, so don't pick on me. Have fun and follow the rules!

3.0 isn't that bad, but of course mine is way higher than that , just messing with you. Good, it's nice to know that someone around here actually reads the rules. You should be fined and won't get banned unless you do something really bad. The biggest problem I had when I first joined was I forgot to see if the topic I posted about had already been discussed. All I got was just one block on the warning bar, which was taken away about a week later. Don't make that mistake and just be yourself. You should have no problems.

Welcome joedoe. It's fine to post an introduction as your six post, I've seen worse. Wow, sounds like you are technology wise I lot smarter than me. I hate to brag, but I get pretty good grades in school. So, what grade level are you in? I'm a freshman (freshy if you must) in high school in the US. Sounds like you've been doing a good job, so there's no need to tell you to follow the rules. Have fun and enjoy yourself!

Good for you. I have always heard it's really hard to quit. I'm sure you will be really good you did in a few years (since you will be living longer). I also heard that you suffer drawbacks and stuff like that when you quit, so just fight through those and continue on. Good job on quitting!

Stressed Leading to my uncontrollable anger
husker replied to BordaForx's topic in General Discussion
Believe me, I know what you mean. It seems like everyone procrastinates now. I can't seem to break mine either. My suggestion is to get your work done early. The best way I have found to do this is to set a time it has to be done by. For example, I want to get it done by 8 pm so I can watch a show on TV. Usually, this works for me, as long as I really want to see that show. This will probably trigger a lot of positive effects. When your girlfriend comes home, you might be less stressed because you have one thing less to do later that night. It's hard to get over the mad streaks. It's best to just step away from what you are doing when you're mad and maybe eat a snack. When I get mad, I keep trying to do that thing I'm mad at (ex. homework), so I just keep getting madder. And by the way, good job marrying rich -
Everyone already knows the name Wikipedia, so I have a hard time believeing Citizendium will be much better. Actually, people are pretty smart if they want to put a virus on wiki. A lot of kids view it for work and stuff, so they might not have protection against viruses. I still trust wiki, although I know it always will be a potential threat. If something is incorrect, just edit it and make everyone else happy. Wikipedia has been abused, but that won't stop it. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ On this site, they did had Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Britannica . Wikipedia was just as accurate as Encyclopedia Britannica. So, if we can trust Wikipedia, why stop using it?

Hi loser . If you have any questions, read the Xisto Readme of you can just ask us. 5'3" is short for your age, but nothing's wrong with that. There are a lot of gay people on here, so don't feel bad. Greece sounds like fun, I wish I could go there. I'm a freshman in the USA in high school so you are a little older than me. Anyways, enjoy yourself and have fun!

Aggression In Martial Arts Is Aggression neccessary in competitions??
husker replied to Webber's topic in General Discussion
Although I am not in any martial arts classes, I agree with what you are saying. There is no reason to fight if you don't have a valid reason. There has to be some kind of motive that drives you. Aggression I think can sometimes be successful, but it blinds you from the purpose. If someone bumped into me at school, I wouldn't fight him, that would be pure aggression, but if he tossed my friend in a locker and beat him, I would either try to stop it or fight back. So, I have to say that you are bringing up a good point here. It relates to the saying "think before you act." -
I heard that they were probably going to hand him, although I think that's wrong. I don't think we should kill him, but instead a life sentence would do. It seems wrong for the US to just go into another country, take someone and just kill him. To some extent, I think it should be up to his people. If they think he isn't that bad of a person, then just put him in jail for a while. But if they think he has been cruel to them (this is probably what they would say), then kill him. So, my fair equal is to put him in jail forever. It's not right for a person to die, no matter what he has done.

Selling Used Games At Eb How much money do they give you?
husker replied to RockinTheCasbah's topic in Computer Gaming
Yeah I agree with Pleno, it's pretty much a rip-off. A $10 game, depending on how old it is, would probably sell for only about $1 at the most. If the game has a sequel of some sort, then the original is worth practically nothing. If you got a new game for $50 and sold it to them, they would probably give you $30. I would only sell the games you will never ever play again. But, hey, at least you do get something for them. -
Yes, but they usually only play other private schools, so it doesn't seem to matter anyway. They will still play people with about their same talent. I think it's bad that someone would choose a private school over a public just because the public school seems to be a mess. It a situation people will have to deal with later on in life. Everyone will have to walk into an uncomfortable place at some point, so why not learn to deal with it while your young? Also, people get a better education because they pay for it. Now I do understand that some people aren't rich that go to there, but they can't be poor either. I think it's unfair to those in the lower class (this isn't my family's financial situation. If it was I wouldn't be on a computer) It's cruel to give some people a choice and other's not based off their money. And regarding Osknockout comment about religious schools, I think they are fine, as long as the people there are in it for the education and religion. I think if the private schools disappeared except for religious ones, then everyone could still share their talents without using money to get a higher education. It gives everyone a fair chance to be great at something. Don't get me wrong, I like the education the private schools offer and the kids that come out go on to do great things usually. I don't think the kids at private schools are "stuck up" either, they are just like everyone else except with a few differences. But please don't tell me that kids at private schools are just as rich as kids at public schools. If that was the case, everyone would be at a private schools. So money does plays at least a little bit of a factor in the case of private schools.
-
After thinking about it for a while, I realized that don't like private schools. If kids have more money and the parents are willing to pay it, they can get a better education and more personal help. It seems unfair to the kids that cannot afford to pay the money to go to a private school, yet they need to be. This is an example of when money does buy power. So here's what I think we need to do. Get rid of private schools and turn them into regular schools. Would it really hurt those kids in the private schools to go to a public school? I thought about this for colleges too, making them all cheaper and the same price, but I figured that wouldn't be fair to the professors that know more than the others. But, something does need to be done about that too. It's really not fair that people with more money can produce more successful kids. For example, I have a friend in a private school. He has about 20 people in his class compared to the 600 in mine. One of his reasons he went was because everyone that goes to that school makes the basketball team. It's not fair that I will have to work hard to make my basketball team (if I do make it) when he is automatically on his team. Don't get me wrong, I am really good friends with him and I do respect his school, I just don't like the idea of a private school. And it's not just private schools, but any schools that require extra money to get into. Anyone else feel like this?

This should be in the music lyrics category. I understand what you mean, it's always hard with break-ups and this song relates to it. Hopefully you'll find someone else. It has some nice lyrics.

Was there a certain experience that made you hate them? I think they can be good and bad. It's good when you first start them, but if they end, it's a heartbreaker and you end up depressed. I can't say I have been in a serious relationship (like having a girlfriend), so I don't know how it can be like a job. It doesn't seem like it could be one to me, unless you have someone who bosses you around. I think relationships are good in general, people just have to know how to get over them when they disappear. For example, if you could have a good locking girlfriend/boyfriend right now, would you take them? If you said yes, then you probably do like relationships. I know I would say yes. If you don't like relationships you are going to have a hard time getting married. Maybe it's not that you don't like them, maybe you aren't a very talkative (believe it or not but that's me), or maybe you do just don't like them. Anyways, good luck with them.

My school is pretty nice and has a lot of spirit. We are a big athletics school (which I think it nice) and we have won championships in multiple sports. Besides sports, my school does a good job with their teachers I believe and the principal in nice and you can actually talk to him (which is rare among principals). Our school is kind of laid back, so that's nice. Unfortunately, it seems that there are a lot of drugs and bad stuff around our school and I think security could do a better job with that. They do have locker searches, but I think our school needs more than that. But, it seems like all the schools today all have problems with drugs and alcohol so it's not a big deal. I do really like school in general, but my school seems to make the work fun and provides a good atmosphere for the most part.

It's hard to say, I do think a lot of our thoughts and ideas come from other family members. At least this idea would explain the Bush family. I think some people grow up in an environment where politics are all over, but a lot of the power to enjoy politics probably comes from someones else in the family, although it is hard to say. I don't think they will get to far with this research, which is something like Jlhaslip said.

Ok I understand it now, it's supposed to be squares and symbols. I'm surprised they didn't get into a lot of trouble with this. Maybe the government agrees with it lol. Anyways, it's a funny little trick Microsoft did, although they could have made it a little better. Instead of squares, it could of been like "Bush loves Bin Laden" or something crazy like that, but that would stir up a lot of trouble.

Thanks for the advice you two. The lines where the rain went away and the trenches flooded are not supposed to be linked. They are supposed to be two separate ideas. I had a hard time with organization on the second stanza. Ghostrider, I agree with you that some poor people are sad, but they always seems to be lacking something else other than money (although we are all like this in a way). I will work on these things and thanks for the criticism.

Yesterday when I was on the bus I saw a Huskers shirt, which was nice to see, but it was pink. The Husker's color is red and they have nothing to do with pink. I don't like it when really wear a clothing item with a team name on it but it's in a different color. I think it's offensive to the team. It really shows that you aren't a "true" fan I think. Does anyone else feel like this? Sorry if you do own clothes like this, I'm not trying to be mean.
