Darran...If you want to know how to make one email me (email in my profile) and i'll write up a whole explanation. RSS is very easy if you know HTML. If you email me, tell me how the tutorial was and if its good i'll post it in the Tutorials section on this site.I dont use a generator or anything i simply write it up. Not hard. It's mostly copy and paste. But for what code editor i use, i use BBedit 8.6 and Fetch for my FTP. That's on my mac. On my Windows i use Dreamweaver 8. I simply write what i want my viewers to read about on my site and upload the new .rss file then when they want they just look at the subscription to my website and the latest updates and tweaks are on there. hmm alright. I will go and set the header and footer divs to 758 and then main to 600 and right_side to 158 and see if this fixes the problem.

OK i will try this. In other words though you are just saying that i should move the CSS tags in the order that they should be read and then set a specific width for the body? I wish IE wasnt the most used browser!

I have my site http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and just when i thought i had everything perfect i just had to go to my Windows computer to check it because i made it on my mac and tested it in: Netscape, Opera, Safari, and Firefox. I only had stupid IE and it displayed it horribly wrong. There is nothing wrong with the CSS. I checked the mathematics of it and it seems fine. It's like it's displaced. The header and the rest of the site are disconnected. There is also a white line down the right side of the page. I think it might have something to do with the CSS's background-color or border. This really frustrates me this might be because i can hardly stay awake and i'm trying to fix it, but even so i just dont feel like fixing it. Does anyone know if this happens in IE6? Because i was testing it in IE7. I'm sure SM is going to be here and he will be "duh its the..." style sheet is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Well, what i am thinking is that as long as you write the code yourself and it isnt a copy then it's fine. So an example would be like writing a <b> tag and a <strong> tag. Their output is the same, but the coding is different. And if you look at the actual graphics they are also different. I think that is what they did.

Well my courier look was supposed to look like a typewriter. But if people dont like it i can change it very easily. What should i change it to? I want it to be somewhat different though from the others so they can see the tutorial credits and they dont blend in with the tutorial text.The background is being changed. ok dreamer i will try out some various colors. Maybe some grays, blues, maybe even orange. I might add a gradient, but that might not work because of the lengthy tutorials sometimes.

It is not as much the start up time as it is the RAM usage. On this computer i usually have, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Dreamweaver (now BBedit and Fetch), textedit (like notpad for a Mac), Fireworks, and also AIM sometimes. Good thing i have multiple virtual desktops But what i was saying is with Dreamweaver and Fireworks open it starts to slow it down when i use one or the other, but when i use BBEdit and Fetch instead it doesnt. I was wondering if anyone has BBedit or Fetch. The only reason i know what these are is because in my college courses they have these AND dreamweaver, flash, and fireworks, and i decided to just see what these programs even are and i love BBedit.

I have Dreamweaver 8 which is a great program and i love the auto complete and the built in FTP, but i am trying out BBedit and Fetch and i love how quick it is to start up Fetch and BBedit and i also like how small the applications are. Dreamweaver has tons of stuff all around the screen i never use and BBedit has more of the stuff i would use and they are much more minimalistic.Fetch = 25USDBBedit = 125USDis it worth it since i bought Dreamweaver 8/Fireworks 8/Flash 8 in a package awhile ago?

I need a script for Safari visitors for my forum. My forum works on all browsers except safari. Even my actual site works for safari just not the forum. I have looked on the google, here, and javascript.internet.com and i am unable to find a script for a Safari browser redirect. Can someone help? Just what Safari would be named in javascript would be enough. Or if someone here know whats wrong with my forum at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ on Safari tell me how to fix it.

Yah i should make a browser redirect javascript to an HTML page that says "Browsers We Support" I know that not many people use Safari because it comes with new Macs and plus its the IE of a Mac so people use other browsers.Plus i support every single popular browser available right now and I don't feel like trying to fix my forum for the least used browser from the statistics i have seen. And my actual website supports Safari just the forum and I dont want to spend much more time on it.I also checked Netscape, and it works also. Made my header image a bit nicer also. thanks. I just ask to keep the topic open until i add the redirect and make sure it's working.EDIT: I have looked all over the net including google, and javascript.internet.com for a browser redirection for Safari and I can't find one. What would Safari be named in the script. Such as internet explorer 6 is IE6, but what's Safari?

Actually i did it a real easy way. i took what fffanatics said and tweaked his hunch a little bit. Here is the HTML i used. Plus it works on all browsers. (not yet tested on Netscape. Scared to haha.) the img class if for FF so there is no border around it since FF likes to make borders around a imgs. BUT one huge problem... Safari still doesnt work at all. Everything is aligned right, no white background, and the banner is HUGE! Any ideas here?

HAHA wow now if you want a story about how people got there screen name then mine has to be one of the best. Well my name is Oscar. And one day my friend brought over some alcohol, it actually was on new years. He wanted back, and i dont drink, so i brought it to school. I know dumb idea, but it was in an Arizona Ice Tea container and i thought it would be fine and no one would suspect anything, WRONG! He was telling everyone i brought his alcohol to school so they could all get drunk. And surely enough it got to the principle. I was suspended for 3 days and i had to watch a movie about being an alcoholic AND I DIDNT EVEN DRINK ANY! The next day, or three rather, my favorite teacher named Mr. Jacobs said hi and said this,"Hey Boozker!" Me and my friends started laughing and they were like how did you get that name and he said,"Booze plus Oscar equals Boozker." I loved the nickname. Ever since then i changed my old screen name i used to use which was chuckystjoes and ojproductions to BooZker. That is how i got my screen name. I love this post. 5 stars!

I am so close to being done with my site, http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and all i need to finish is the forum. After that it's just adding content. In every browser (Netscape, Firefox 2, and Opera) it works 100% fine. In Safari, now that's a different story. If you dont have Safari i'll explain... It's completely screwed up. Everything. Nothing works except the links and the header picture is on there but in the wrong place. In IE 7 its a much smaller problem. There is simply a black bar on the right of the header image. I don't know why because it can't be like my last problem that there was not enough space because i set the width to 100% just so it wouldnt be to small or big. So PHP comments and ratings? Do you know of where i could get a tutorial on how to do this even? I will look in the morning because its 3:30 am, but remember i am VERY new to PHP. All i know are includes. Do you know of any FREE pre-made scripts?
