  1. Task Manager Disabled

    Task Manager Issue

    <a href=http://forums.xisto.com/topic/93437-topic/?findpost=1064372305 to TavoxPeru</a>What happens if you press ctrl/shift/esc and you get a prompt saying your task manager has been disabled by administrator how would you fix that?

    -question by Dumb@**

    It means that an administrator has disabled Task Manager, simple as that. Unless you are administrator, you can't access Task Manager. My school does that to prevent us from shutting off security/network applications. It is most likely done via Group Policy Editor, which I'm assuming you are running a computer from a network, a domain, using Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate.

    If you can find a way to override this without knowing the Administrator password, it can be reported as a privilege escalation security threat. ;)

  2. What is a .bam file? Why would we need to open one? From the looks of the available pictures, it looks like reverse engineering a software application.By looking at the software website, it looks like Panda 3D is for designing 3D games and such. Is this what a .bam file contains? 3D imagery data?It may help to explain more details about what we are doing instead of just giving step by step instructions to do something. We need to know WHY we do this because the concept is unfamiliar to many people (I think).Please also note that some of your images do not work.

  3. This is my .htaccess file:

    Redirect /xkingdom http://feral.portal.trap17.com/Redirect ^/wdl/$ /gone.php 301
    The first line works, the second line doesn't. It actually returns an Internal Server Error:

    Internal Server ErrorThe server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@portal.trap17.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

    Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    I have the gone.php file in the root directory of my subdomain.

  4. I have seen examples for redirecting one file to another using htaccess, redirecting directory structures and other things. However, I want to redirect a directory of files to one file in the root directory. How do I do this?Bare minimum: Send a HTTP 301 status code and redirect the user to a specific page.Optimal task: Send a HTTP 410 status code for the page/resource that the user is trying to access and then redirect the user to a specific page.How do I do this via htaccess or PHP?

  5. Have you tried making both images display: block? From what you mentioned, you can try:

    #logo {margin-bottom: -3px;}
    or
    img { display: block}

    Also, you have absolute positioning there. Unless absolutely necessary, you shouldn't need to use position: absolute. IE6 support is becoming less and less, because most people use either IE7 or alternative browsers now. You may want to consider dropping support for IE6, and let the browser render the page the way it wants to.

  6. I think that the Internet speed test hosted at http://www.speedtest.net/ is more reliable because it has a lot of different servers around the world (especially in North America and Europe). It also gives a comprehensive report of your Internet speeds as well as information about other people in your area.

    The test provided in this post was hosted on an unknown server in an unknown location and therefore the accuracy of the test is questionable as not many details are known about it.

  7. I have heard of Ruby on Rails before on things like HotScripts and occasional email newsletters about web development, but I have never actually investigated it before. In fact, I have never even googled it or looked at anything like it before.Is it really better than PHP? Is it popular in the sense that big well-known sites use it? Is it compatible with Xisto?It sounds neutral in my knowledge right now, but my opinion may change after actually reading it on Wikipeida or somewhere.

  8. A lot of antispyware software applications will detect Smiley Central as spyware, even when the Terms and Conditions explicitly state that it is spyware free. This is because Smiley Central will hijack your browser's home page, install toolbars into Internet Explorer and is quite time consuming and confusing for the average user to remove completely without a system restore/backup.If you want smileys to use in Messenger, wait until Yahoo! or those Microsoft partners (Kiwee, etc) release the free smiley packs. I can actually trust those to be installed. ;)
