Well i have no problems with drugs, Ive never taken them and hopefully never will but ive smelt drugs on the streets, seen people with them and one of my ex-mates takes drugs and people near where i live do too, they are everywhere. The only problem i have is what people do to get them. They might steal or mug people for hte money for the drugs and when they are stoned or high they mught be voilent etc... Thats why i think that drugs should be avaliable in secure areas, abit like prison in a way where if you want to get high you go there and buy drugs off the government (who would own the prison like places) and just have a great time in there, of course it wouldnt be like prison with cells and stuff, more like a club escept you cant get out if you are high. That way people get their drugs, the government get money and the public are safe.Of course this will never happen but i think its the only way. It doesnt bother me that people kill each other over drugs because they shouldnt have taken the drugs in the first place, people have been killed around this area and proabably over drugs as it isnt really gangland as such and it doesnt scare me because im not in a gang anyway and i dont take drugs so they have no reason to kill me and probably wont. Drugs are only a major problem for those who are involved with them, the only problem arises when people do what i said in the begining and leave the spoils lying in the steeets, like needles and such.

We need more information than that, you need to explain what you dont understand first rather than just saying you dont understand it. Otherwise no-one can help you and this topic will be closed by a mod. What dont you understand? advertising? Pop-ups? Pop-unders?

The way to become a mod or admin is simply to be active, report any bad posts to the mods/admins to help them out and be friendly and helpfull to the members here, give other members help in using the forums and setting up their websites and anything else they need help with. Remember the rules and dont break them and remind others of the rules if they need reminding. And even if someone doesnt want to be a mod they should still do the above its what makes Xisto so great. I dont want to be a mod or anything but i try to be as helpful as i can be to other members just to help them and the mods out abit :PGood luck with your forum and if youre lucky, becoming a mod. Getting the 30 credits is a breeze as long as you stick to the rules, which are reasonable anyway!

Ive meditated before but usually im not really that desperate to meditate so i dont go very deep but i get the physical benefits most of the time like being very relaxed and calm but a few times before ive gone deeper and seen things from my friends house like the colours in her room and kitchen and such, i dont know if it was coincidence or remote veiwing but either way it was kool I think spiritually if you can get deep enough you can do a lot of things like remote veiwing, clairvoyance (talking to spirits) even telekenisis, i dont mean making things fly but small things like making a sheet of paper move or something like that, but youd have to be very good to do that methinks emotionally i think it just gives your head a chance to finally sort out all the things its been hanging on, during the day with a busy mind you just cant deal with your emotions theres no time! so during meditation i think it gives your mind a chance to sort this out which is part of the reasonm why we feel so relaxed. And physically i think the fact of staying still for a little while and getting a better than normal circulation and breathing, therefore oxygen greatly boosts your body and helps you think clearer and such like. but no matter what it does meditation is a great thing when you feel stressed, or even if theres nothing on TV and youre laying in bed, although in bed isnt the best place to meditate ('cos you fall asleep!) it lets time pass unnoticed so you can meditate for an hour and think its been 10 or 20 minutes. It also helps me sleep better

Yes it could be that there are no rows but at the php manual it ays it will just return a false value if there are no more rows. i assume this is true if there are no rows atall also. I would do some error checking to make sure that the query is going through perfectly, i see no reason why not but its good just to make sure that the error is definately coming from the right place Just add or die (mysql_error();); after performing the query and selecting the DB just to make sure that valid parameters are being used by fetch_assoc. Another way to do this would be using the mysql_fetch_array(); function. They both do the same thing but ive never had problems with fetch_array so i personally find it easier to use, but you might not, its just an idea. If there are no other errors in the code then im not sure what to say but you can always search the php manual online (just google the function youre after and youll get the website within the first 3 or 4 results normally). And good luck! Its tedious when things like this happen!

That seems like a great idea for webmasters because as you said the traffic stays on your site instead of being taken away to google and then to another site who might be a rival site offering the same services but being more popular, then they will never come back when was this brought about? And what exaclty do google get out of this? im guessing the links are simply a google search of your site related to certain keywords? Sounds like a great idea for anyone who wants traffic as well as ads.

In my opinion the vista gui in appearance kicks butt, but in the way it works, and system resources its just not worth it. Bill gates just wants you to spend your money on computers and nothing else!! the faster he keeps moving the faster we have to move to keep up and that = ($)($) kerching! I think if they could make the vista gui run on specs like the xp can run on it would be almost perfect even though aero is infact utterly useless it looks good from what ive seen! And i do think it looks a little like mac and a little like linux with everything being so round, mac and linux have always used rounded edges and such like everywhere, windows has been stuck in the box so to speak with square edges so now they copy linx and mac, whatever next...maybe they will have a tabbed browser like everyone else...oh wait...lol It still looks good though

**EDIT** sorry completely missed this part However i tested round() on numbers like "5.11" and as ive posted below by rounding to three decimals it will do nothing to change the number unless it ends in a zero in which case it simply strips the zero and nothing more. which explains why this posts assumes you dont understand round();! sorry! But ill leave it as it is for other people to read and hopefully it will be a good solution to your problem **/ edit*** there is a built in function called round(); which i just found in the php manual, link: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Basically it rounds any decimal number to a spcified number of digits after the decimal point, eg: there is a limit to this function though because it cant handle numbers containg commas such as "1,000.32" so providing your numbers arent formatted with commas for every thousand and million etc...you will be fine to use this function. The link i gave also has a lot of info in the case your numbers are formatted with commas.

on the specs you have to work with almost the only choice is linux however for them as already said they are going to find it very hard to use, at some point they will want to download software, two things will happen, thy wont be able to find it and if they do they wont be able to install it because its not normally as simple as in windows. Also i dont think bying ram will do the trick atall as i think windows takes up about 2gb on its own without added applications like office etc etc etc...i think the best thing to do is for them to buy a new computer, i would suggest a desktop id they dont have much cash as although you cant move them a decent desktop with 512mb RAM and 20gb hard drive could cost something like ?200-?300 (not sure about prices in other countries but they probably wont be very expensive) I know that not everyone has that money to burn on a computer but itll be worth it. If you do plan on using the exsisting laptop i think you would need atleast a 10gb hard drive (i dont even know if they come that small nowadays, you might have to go for 20) and 256 RAM because MS word will take up a lot of RAM and MSN messenger can be quite heavy with all its animations and stuff, i remember on my machine of almost identicaly specs the smilies used to crash MSN! haha! but by the time you pay for these upgrades it would be a similar price to buy a new pc with XP pre-installed!

IU dont think the screw driver would cause damage unless he held it by any of the components for a long time, one possiblity is a static charge from your brother hitting a component and damaging it. I think the best thing is to take it somewhere and ask whats wrong with it and if they can fix it for you.

For the wireless first do basic checks like making sure the WLAN card is on. i had this problem and to my embarressment hadnt turned the card on haha! Also check the card and router are compatible and both use te same WLAN standard, most devices now are 802.11b/g compliant but depending on the age of the access point/computer they might only cover B. That should be easy to find out from the specs of the access poit and computer. You said you tried the WLAN manually, does that mean you entered the network name encryption key etc manually? If not you should try this method. And also try making sure that the computer and access point are the only two wireless devices activated. Soturn off any other machines using the wireless becuase if all WLAN ports are taken i assume the WLAN card might not detect the network. Im not sure thoughAs for dial up im not sure to be honest, there will prob be a FAQ and troubleshooting guide on the products home page if you can get to it. (how silly, internet connection troubleshooting on the internet.. )

Hi allI need to know how to impliment SSL on any supporting webserver but NOT a Xisto one. Im doing some coding for someone but i need to take credit card details so i should use SSL but i know they wont be hosted here they will find their own host so i need to know how to set up SSL on ANY webserver. I will make sure they get a server that supports SSL which will obviously help The problem is that i might not be personally setting up the webserver so i need to be able to explain this to someone else who might not be very techie minded (i dont know them personally im working through a friend so i dont know their techie level). Are there any special requirements for my php code? from what ive read there isnt but i mightve missed something. Any and all advice is greatly needed!Thanx

I have a suggestion, its not a solution because im busy with my own php stuff at the moment but basically i would use the checkboxes and each has a value, say "mail1" "mail2" etc etc etc....the user selects all the ones they want to delete, if they select mail one two and three the values sent to the script would be "mail1 mail2 mail3" then you can use a for loop to cycle three times something like "delete_function($mail)"where $mail is the mail value specificed above.Like i said its only a suggestion not a solution because i havent got the time at the moment. You might be better asking the same question in the php programming section (under programming) Or evne better, PM a moderator to move this over there so you dont get troubled for double posts

Im fairly sure you cant do this because a wireless connection usually last about 30-50 feet depending on the hardware involved so while its perfectly fine to be in different rooms, or even in the house next door it wouldnt be any good over a distance of say a street. The only way as already said is like this: your console connects to somethnig called a wireless access point. This then has a connection to the internet. Your friend also connects to a DIFFERENT wireless acess point near him or her. This access point also connects to the internet. And as you are both on the net you can play together. But i dont know which wireless specification the consoles use. because to do what is above you would both need a certain kind of wireless and i dont think the consoles have this specification.they normally use other radio frequences so that they dont get interference. But type the name of your consoles into google and try to find their specification and if both their wireless types/specs are something like "802.11a/b/g" then you can connect using the internet in the way already said. But to do that you will both need an access point and an internet connection. Some places ike cafes and airports have them but otherwise you will have to buy the stuff you need for about ?70 and then pay for the internet also.

And as an absolute last resort you could try tablets. Theyre called Kalms and they are for stress relief. I suggest you try ever other non-medication method first because you can become almost addicted to the medication and it will cause you huge problems when you try to stop. And medication is rarely a cure, its just a cover to hide the things you dont want and that can cause even more problems. Just try talking to someone. It will help.

Hey, thats a sucky situation, ny reply will have to be short as im about to leave the computer but you did the right thing. Youre not supposed to give your life to your parents, it sounds like you could really do with a car and if they were that desperate for money they could take out a loan themselves surely? I think you did the right thing. You should by the car because you culd do with it and it will make things a lot easier for you. Sorry this is short, just wanted to say not to worry about it and dont feel guilty, you need that money and if they need money then they can find their own ways of getting it.

The guilt sucks and i think it could be part of the reason why you feel so angry, by not dealing with the guilt youre changing it into something that you can deal with, anger. I could be wrong but its possible. I think if you try to deal with somehow with the guilt, perhaps by telling someone about it and sitting down with a friend or someone in your familly and just telling them everythiung, why you feel so guilty, what you wish you could have done etc etc etc it will help. And atleast if it doesnt help you know that you can always talk to that person about anything else in your life. I find talking about my problems is very helpfull and maybe you will too.
