  1. Hello niklophiliac and welcome to Trap 17 from Mich in Michigan, USA. I, like Bluebear, am late also. Guess our Turkey Day and Holiday Shopping here in USA got in the way. Just the same, I hope you are enjoying yourself here in our little community. The new points (myCENT) system seems to be working just fine. People are intrigued by this I believe. It seems unique to other site's systems. See you around the boards and happy $ earnings.

    Living In The Past..

Sounds like you had one h*** of a childhood. Having lived with an alcoholic father, I too did not have a pleasant childhood. Being the oldest child, I too understand the escape goat one may become in that status. I did, however, find that the only one hurt by living with all the hate was me. Nobody else felt it and thusly I was the only one burdened by the weight of it. You must push yourself to look to the future, ignore the past (as much as possible) and let go of the hatred. Notice I didn't say forgive, but, forgiveness may come with time. You are a valuable person. You have things to contribute in this life. Look, you sought out this forum and expressed your feelings. This in itself is an accomplishment. Think of all the wonderful things you can accomplish if you put your mind to it. If you busy yourself with positive thoughts for the future, thoughts of the past will not have room in your life. You can accomplish most anything, just give it a try.
  3. I am so relieved that this election is over with. Before the election our household was pelted with campaign propoganda mail and phone calls. Some of the negative stuff was apalling. Accusations of "radical homosexual agendas", racial inuendos, bad political jokes and On and On and On. We thought it would never end. Now that the election is over, the propoganda and phone calls have ceased. BUT, we find the local newspapers are still at it. One newspaper headline from just north of us read 'OBAMA NATION". Now the inuendo is subtle, but none the same it is apparent that the person who created this headline and the editor who allowed it to be printed are not the kind of people I would want to associate with. Leaving me to decide that I would never subscribe to their newspaper. The decision has been made by the people of the USA. Barack Obama won the election whether or not you agree with the choice. No matter what your political affiliation; now is not the time for us to be slandering our chosen President-Elect. We need to pull together like never before. We have a lot of problems on our plate that need to be dealt with. There is not the time for derision.
  4. Hello baniboy and welcome to Trap 17 from Mich in Michigan, USA. Since everybody has beaten me to it filling you in, I guess that is all there is left to do. But if you still need them, you can use the links just above my sig to learn all about Trap 17.
  5. Politics on Trap 17. Wow. I only have one thing to add to all this conversation about Obama and the economy. A President can only accomplish things with the co-operation of the House and Senate. No one person can do it all alone, nor does one person have all the answers. With input from US citizens, cabinet members, advisors, consultants, Senators, Congressmen as well as the President, I pray that the "right" decisions are made. We, the people of USA, all need to pull together to see that this mess we are in is corrected ASAP. God Bless Us All!

  8. Hmm. Well I guess I too am afraid of the process of dying and perhaps the timing. Since I enjoy life so much, I want the time to do all the things I have stored in my thoughts. If death were to come too soon, I might miss out on things I would enjoy doing. I only hope that death comes quickly to me. If it doesn't, and I have time to ponder the actuality of it, I hope I can face it as gracefully as one person I heard of. On her death bed she said, "Don't feel sorry for me, I am about to do something I have never done before. It will be a new exerience."
  9. I find that this problem of holding back the "smart" students may occur in small school districts. Students in these small schools cannot be segregated by leaning abilities because of staffing problems. This should be taken up by the school board. In the larger districts, segregation by abilities is afforded and usually offered. When I was in high school, we had what was called "Advanced" courses. These courses were set up for the students that excelled in their scholastic abilities. I was taking college courses in my senior year of high school. That really came in handy when I took entrance exams. I was able to ace my math.
  10. Oh my! What a day you had. I am so sorry you had such a negative time. I guess you cannot count on your packs being waterproof these days. I do hope that everything works out for the best for you in the end. Please let us know the final results. All the suggestions seem thoughtful. I cannot offer any more since I am rather illiterate when it comes to puter stuff. Just for future reference, please zip-lock your lap-top in a large freezer weight zip-lock bag.
  11. Hey, last night I got to level 13 with a score of 88,262 91,057on Bejeweled 2. Anyone done better?
  12. I love life; everything in it and about it. What more can one say. Just don't overlook the little things in life, for one day you will look back and realize they were the BIG things.

    Hi, I'm New

Hello Ruben and welcome to Trap 17 from Mich in Michigan, USA. Nice introduction! Although most of it is way over my head. as I am somewhat computer illiterate. The people here at Trap 17 are very helpful and friendly; even to someone like me. Enjoy your stay with us, and I hope it lasts a while.

Hello Vyoma and welcome to Trap 17 from Mich in Michigan, USA. As far as I know, anyone with graphics talent is free to post in The GFXTrap Forum. Your additions will probably be welcome as everybody enjoys showing off their talents. I might suggest that if you have any very LARGE graphics to show off that use a link to wherever they are stored so they don't take up a lot of space here and/or distort the forum layout. Look forward to seeing some of your work soon.

  18. Hello HappyHippie and welcome to Trap 17 from Mich in Michigan, USA. It is nice to have a more mature person join our little community. Everybody has already fed you the routine advice about Trap. I see you have a daughter getting married. Mine got married in 2000. Only it was her second time around. It is nice that you like her intended. It took a little while for me to warm up to my present Son-in-Law. He had some problems when I first met him. Since then he has cleaned up and a really nice guy came out from under the fog. They are happy, and that is what counts. See you around the boards.
  19. We had snow today in Michigan as well. Not a lot, but is extra cold. Brrrrr Wish winter would hold off a little longer. We don't got south until January.
  20. Oh, I understand the problem lapped drivers would have if they were placed at the end of the pack, but why are they given the inside row. If the "Pole Position" is so prized, shouldn't the lapped cars get the outside row? Judging from past Dartona 500s, your calculation of the third Sunday in February sounds about right. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
  21. Hello "Running With Scissors" and welcome to Trap 17 from Mich in Michigan, USA. Interesting handle . I started posting at Xisto before I found this sight. Actually I was lured over here by a certain member who shall go unnamed. I am not a techy and Trap is more graphics oriented, so things felt more comfortable over here. I have gone back to Xisto on occasion, but am not really active over there. I am unsure about this new credit system since I am not technical enough to understand even this. I hope it works out, but I am very hesitant about it. Have many questions before signing up. You can use the links just above my sig to learn all about Trap 17.

  23. No, I don't think it is ridiculous to have a snake as a pet. However, it is not the a pet that I would choose at this time in my life. Although I did have one as a child, a Rubber Boa. Through my ignorance, it escaped and had the neighbors somewhat bothered for a while. It was indigenous to the area in which I lived; California, so I hope it survived happily on its own.
  24. OK, except I have had a domain of my own for some 4 years now that I purchased elsewhere and have been renewing each year for $9.95/yr. My nameserver is controlled at their site. I don't wish to purchase a package here including a domain. I only need the hosting space and bandwidth. I do not use anything else, not even the e-mail boxes. My mailbox is at Yahoo. So what happens to my site?
  25. 1. OK, just a quick question about Nascar start and restart lineups. The "Post Position" is earned in qualifying by driver with the fastest qualifying time. This prized position is at the head of the inside row on race startup. However, when there is a restart, the inside row consists of the drivers who are down a lap or more. This places the driver who is the first one down a lap in the prized "Post Position'. Why is this? 2. How is the date for Daytona Week determined? I have noticed that it is usually over or around Valentines Day, but am curious how the schedule of the Daytona 500 is determined. Like, is the race a certain Sunday of the year? And therefore the week is the week leading up to the race. Are there any fans here that know the answers?
