HiThis is the original poster. Thanks so much for the kind answers and the @ tip, I am going to try to use it asap. While browsing the web for answers to my problem, I came upon a snippet of code that showed how a variable that sometimes isn't defined creates an error with the parser. So including this variable code in an IF statement would prevent the error also.Like someone said above, there are several solutions to fix that. Thanks againPatrick

HiIs it ok to use error-reporting(0) locally in a snippet of code that spits an undefined variable error?I found that fix and was wondering what does everybody do about error messages that keep poping up.ThanksPatrick

HiI was just wondering what do PHP programmers earn? I mean I understand you could be working freelance or full time or even part time, but just to get a general idea.Is it easy to freelance on the side as a little extra income?Do you also have to know web design like CSS, photoshop to be a good PHP programmer? Thanks a lotPatrick

HiI can't have enough links to help me with PHP and it seems I discover more and more every week without really searching for them.Which is the one link that you would recommend, be it beginner, advanced, intermediate, all 3, a forum, a snippet site or whatever?I really like http://www.phpfreaks.com/ myself.ThanksPatrick

Hi You should be very carefull with that statement since Monaco isn't a total nobody. They reached the final last year and won their group this year, I say it will be a close contest, even if last year's Monaco was a lot better. The french team to really watch will be Lyon, I hope they pull some big wins and reach the final. The english teams all made it to the round of 16, I would see one reach the final. Here are my winners(Teams which will qualify): Juventus over Real Liverpool over Leverkussen Monaco over PSV Arsenal over bayern Inter over Porto Barcelona over Chelsea Milan over M.U. Lyon over Bremen Let's see how many I get Patrick

Hi I guess since you seem far from that top tourself, you won't have to worry about getting any *BLEEP* from anybody Patrick

HiWell someone mentionned that my browser could have been hijacked and I think it was even though I run ad-aware, spybot and hijack this. But these were not updated and I just did that and ran them all several times and now my searches results are normal. No Ebay selling "Tsunami coverage" or anything else that can't be sold there. So anybody getting weird results in google searches should really clean their system free of spyware.Patrick
-
HiGoogle searches are really starting to get on my nerves. I mean you search for keywords like "Tsunami coverage" or "Lop ear rabbitt" or whatever and you get returns in the top 10 like Ebay.Buy tsunami coverage on Ebay!!!I mean come on Google, I understand these companies pay for high rankings but there is no Tsunami coverage on Ebay or lop eared rabbits on sale either which violate their terms of services. My 2 centsPatrick

HiDo you validate your forms using PHP , javascript or both?I was just playing around with a tutorial for a very simple guestbook and the creator did use both javascript and php to validate.ThanksPatrick

HiYour site is propably the best I have seen posted here. It just looks very very good, is functionnal as far as I can tell and seems to stay updated. But since I am sure you want to hear bad stuff too, I could give you my opinion on a couple of things. The top banner could link back to the home page, with a little tool tip when the mouse stays on it saying "Take me back home", the second thing is the fonts are a little too small maybe and I tried to resize them larger in I.E., and it wouldn't let me, the trademark sentence on the bottom couldn't be read.Overall I love it 8/10.My 2 centsPatrick

HiYour site looks good but it needs content and a lot of it. It seems you have tried and applied every imaginable thing you could think of on your site, it could look more like a showcase of your talent than a real site about web design.I would lose the music and the scrolling text on the bottom, very, very amateurish as far as web design.I love the colors and the general layout. Integra mod forums, what is thiz????Patrick -
HiIt's not all bad but there is room for improvement. The forums design should be the same as the other pages and I also wouldn't have a forum unless I start getting decent traffic, as I find empty forums to be a good way of letting users know that there is nobody on your site.I have a 19 inch monitor set at 800X600 and I have to scroll left and right to see the whole page, there is no need for that, I would resize. You need content but I am sure you haven't worked on that yet.Good luckPatrick

HiAnybody cares about the NFL playoffs? My team the Atlanta Falcons is in, and they will avoid the wild card week-end and will play host in the second round. I feel we will play the packers. It's still a long shot for them to win the super bowl with the Eagles and Steelers in the way as most dangerous opponents to the crown. But you make the final 12 you got a shot!Patrick

HiThe little that you put on your site looks good and works well. It's basically a guestbook, I assume you will work on the rest later like history of the Khmer and Cambodia.....You should review the guestbook entries prior to have them posted on your site as anybody can write anything. The top banner/graphic looks great.I wish you good luck.Patrick

OpaqueJust a little follow up on the php/mysql/apache installation.I had heard that phptriad wasn't free anymore so I went for a gERMAN PROGRAM CALLED XAMPP. I could never get it to run either so I tried a french program called easyphp and was finnaly succesfull.I haven't had to look for any help so far but I am afraid most forums that support it might be mostly in french. I am bilingual so french or english is the same to me.I think the easyphp is actually very popular in the states so it's got to have english support. It's at easyphp.orgRegardsPatrick

Hi guysDMA I am french and our team is at the lowest it has ever been. We are struggling in our group with teams that we should beat. We have managed 2 devastating ties at home against Israel and Ireland and barely beat Cyprus 2-1 away but got real lucky, they miss all made goals. My bet would be that we won't make Germany. I hope I am wrong but that's the way it is.Greece the euro winner is struggling too, England is rolling.Good luck to your teamsPatrick

To add up, I tried installing it too but then I was so pissed off that I un-installed it and re-installed the older version of PHP. It works fine for me.. and the Xisto servers are also running 4.3.9 [ date: 7-December-2004 ]Hi OpaqueYes I got really frustrated bad, it just won't work. I will delete php5 and install php4. Is is good news that the servers run 4.3.9.There is also a thing called PHPTriad or Apache Triad or something like that. ( search for it on google ). But looking at the problems you are having, I assume your are a beginner or an intermediate in php. I had heard of the triad thing but I figured I would manage to get PHP 5 to work with mysql. Dead wrong! If the PHP 4 install frustrates me too (Which I have heard it won't) I will switch to triad.I can't wait to upload my first PHP scripts to Xisto. Thanks againPatrick

HiI am running apache 2/Mysql/PHP5 on XP pro. I took my first steps with a tutorial sending sql queries via a PHP script and I got an error message in the browser. So I ran phpinfo.php and there is no sign of mysql at all.I have searched the web and found a lot of PHP 5 users having problems with the installation. Some dropped back to PHP 4 as it was easy to install, others deleted it all and reinstalled some bundled software with apache/mysql/PHP which was easy to install too, others got it fixed and moved on.I have spent a lot of time on this and am a little frustrated. If someone can help that would be great. Thanks a lotPatrick

HiIt loaded very quickly today. It's a good start if you are like me new in web design. One thing that I have read in several web design books is not to design for a specific resolution as you mention on your homepage as the site might look terrible for some users and they might leave quickly. On a personnal note, i do not like these 2 pink bars, i would work on something different, but that's me.The site is very functionnal and I liked the guestbook too, I am currently working on one from scratch from my own site.Good luck with your sitePatrick
