HiI think you did a great job, I couldn't have done as well. I think respect is extremely important and when you get it, it shows that you are a good member of any given society.Unfortunately too often some people earn it and don't deserve it.Patrick

HiI have used photoshop CS for a little while now and absolutly love it. There are so many free tutorials online it makes it easy to learn and plenty of forums to get experts to help you.Other than that just like anything else practice makes perfect.RegardsPatrick

HiI don't really care as to what could happend to Japan at the moment as they are part of the war in Iraq which I don't approve but I think the chinese people in the streets are a little hypocrit as they wouldn't dare do that about their own governement as they would end up dead or getting life. The chinese government is also taking a step back towards democracy as they should protect japanese interest but they basically encourage it.I think if I was the japanese premier I would recall my embassador.Patrick

HiI am sure someone will post that they chose not to have a TV and don't own one but for the rest of us, TV is part of our life even if it's 30 mn a day.Me actually it depends on my mood but the news are always my big number one, followed by sport (Soccer, rugby, football, a little baseball), then in third programs where I learn something on channels like the history channel, discovery channel or animal planet and at fourth programs related to crime like america's most wanted or cops and others. What I absolutly hate are sitcoms, the laughs in the background get on my nerves, also sometimes the Oprah, Dr Phil which my wife enjoys a lot, there is too many dumb people showing up and asking dumb questions but to each is own.So how does the tube gets your focus?RegardsPatrick

What Is The Whole Point For Being "a Vegetarian"
dark replied to hellgate's topic in Health & Fitness
HiFirst of all I think no matter what you are a meat lover or a vegetarian, I think you should respect the other ones. I have heard too many meat lovers complain about vegetarians and vice versa.I am an animal lover but I do eat meat. I think I make a clear difference between killing an animal in the wild and eating it which I don't do and eating animals raised for consumption. These animals are born and raised to feed us, we are just lucky to be at the top of the food chain. What sucks about raised for food animals is the way they are raised and generally abused. I think they should enjoy a nice life even if it's only 2 weeks.RegardsPatrick -
HiCan anybody here tell me what kind of salary/rate to expect as a php/Mysql programmer in the united states?I have searched the web and newsgroups for a while but get very conflicting results.I want to know for someone really focusing on php/mysql and not know much of the rest. I have heard that programmers who really focus on one language usually get work.I have been playing around with html, CSS, php/mysql, javascript, xhtml, photoshop and think it is time to focus on something and learn it well. Thanks for your timePatrick

HiWell there is two ways to look at it, and I don't think one is wrong, it's just different ways of approching the problem. One was to let her die as it happened and the other to let her live even in her vegetative state as she was still one of us, a human being and you just don't finish off a human being like a dog.I belong to the second group, without judging the first group that is. Maybe if she was a member of your family you would think differently, maybe not.RIP terryPatrick

HiWhen I had my first PC a few years ago, people started mentionning viruses and that protection was needed, I never bothered thinking that viruses were not directed at simple users like me but companies until the day when I got nailed with a worm of some kind that paralysed my system.I went to the store after talking to a few friends and bought Norton anti virus, installed it and it fixed the problem, I was very pleased.I have been updating it for about 6 years now and haven't contracted any viruses that I am aware of.For me it's a small price to pay, so norton gets my vote.Patrick

HiWell I ain't no big expert but I have to say I am really used to IE. I have also firefox but for some reason the interface gets on my nerves and the whole thing about using it. I have netscape and use it mostly for testing some web pages I create which is not very often lately along with Opera.IE is very easy to use and operate but it is so buggy that I switch to Firefox sometimes.Patrick

Hi I am just laughing as I type this one, come on we have all done it, walk in a glass door in front of people, leave the bathroom with our zipper still open or saying bad stuff about someone that we think is not around and realizing that he stood next to you as you badmouthed him I have done that last one while I was in the navy, there was a little guy that though he was god all mighty and he would just get on my nerves, well it's lunch time and I am eating with some of my buddies while I announce loud (Since he wasn't around) that I can't stand the abnoxious little dude, as I said that my buddy right in front of me start laughing almost to the point that he was going to choke on his food, and I realized the guy wasn't far, and looking past the guy to my right, he was sitting right there.OOOOOPPPSSSSS!! ? Well I could just look at him and tell him "At least you know now!". So what kind of embarassing moment have you survived to tell us today and make us laugh! Patrick

What Do You Think Of This Site? FRE3.tK
dark replied to truman69's topic in Websites and Web Designing
HiYes the splash page with the vocal "This is a recording" sounds real amateurish, you should stay away from that for a pro look. Once inside the site, it's not all that bad, I love the colors, there aren't too many and they go well together. The fonts are a little small maybe, some folks might have a hard time and try to resize them which can be hazardous with some browsers which I don't have time to try now, In I.E. nothing resized.I also would put a banner with a logo or the name of the site on the top and navigation buttons at the bottom.Patrick -
HiI can't help you with your particular camera but 2 years ago I was in the same boat as you are now, I had a budget but didn't know what to get, so I hit various search engines, checked sites like Ebay, visited chainstores like bestbuy, compusa and a couple of others and soon or later a pattern will emerge of 2 or 3 cameras that would suit you. It is then easy to pick between 2 or 3.Good luckPatrick

HiAnyone enjoy being scared here? I truely enjoy scary movies and they are far and few in between but I love it when one gets to scare me.Here are some things that scare me:-Watching a real scary movie alone and there is a weird noise coming from the ceiling, the next room or outside, really scary -To swim in the ocean without a mask and my feet don't touch the bottom, I hate this as I am scared a shark would get me. The funny thing is that I love snorkeling, done it often in Europe, Florida and the caribbean, but if I don't have a mask and can't see below me I freak out.So what scares you? Snakes, school teachers or freaky looking old ladies? Patrick

HiYour site is very professionnal looking in my opinion but still here are a few things I don't go crazy for:-The navigation buttons all the way to the top, I prefer the logo and banner first and the navigation below, but that's me.-The little wizard appearing is cute but that takes the pro look down a little, I don't think you should have that on your kind of site.-Colors too many of them, too many shades of everything, but again that's me.On the other end I love the general design, pro look, I like that, the pictures are very well chosen.I think with a little bit of work your site could be a real example on the web.Patrick

HiWhat is your favorite meal? You are being sent to an island and will be served the same thing for a full year. What will it be?A nice juicy rare steak and french fries here, I can't get enough of it So.....Patrick

HiHere are my three to get this started:1) I hate when I see humans mistreating animals for no reason.2) I hate dumb people, I mean I really do. When confronted with someone that is plain dumb I get irrate. 3) Disrespect. When someone talks to you like your are a piece of chewed gum on the pavement. I also hate it when I see someone else being the victim of this. Like a customer in a restaurent being rude to a waiter/waitress just because he can.So what gets your blood boiling? Patrick

What Is Your Favorite Pass Time? What do you do in your free time?
dark replied to unicornrose's topic in General Discussion
HiWell it depends on my mood really and how tired I am. I like doing the following, watching soccer, DVD's, go fish, play shooters on my PC, browse the web, do some amateur web design, saltwater aquaria, lizard keeping, comic reading....Lately I am in the fishing mood, spring fever it must be, I got all my tackle ready to go, all my books and magazines out, to note I don't kill fish, I catch and release only.Patrick -
HiWe have all gone through that at some point, it's called love. It can hurt you real bad but you recover from it. I for one have been hurt a couple of times, boy I thought it was the end of the world. The worse was that in both occasions, the women just didn't have the guts to tell me face to face, so you wonder why they don't call you back, why this or why that and all that stuff. Then you find another and they try to come back but it's too late.I think we all have to go through that in order to find one that is right for us. Love can bite you real hard but it's worth it.Patrick

Goosestaf What about the states? Wouldn't you like giving it a try too? Patrick

HiIt would be even better if thousands of us didn't have to die in stupid wars every century, if violence against men wasn't tolerated, if we didn't have to do all the hard and dirty physical jobs, and if we could file for sexual harrasement when we don't like a certain female co-worker and make everyone laugh when we get hit low which hurts like hell, never seen anyone laugh when a female gets hit in her breasts, and like 40% of couples be the one to stay home. It ain't all that easy to be a man either.Patrick

HiBoy this is really getting crazy out there, some people apparently lose it to the point of killing several other people. This guy killed 7 in Wisconsin because he had lost his job, then commited suicide.I guess when you do this, you don't know good from bad anymore, you are so depressed for whatever reason that you go out and kill away.Patrick

In Ga-guy Responsible For 4 Deaths(judge) Is Caugh
dark replied to halo2krew's topic in General Discussion
HiI live in Atlanta and have several coworkers who live in Gwinnet county where he was caught. But you don't have to be in Atlanta to have heard about that one, it had to do world news everywhere.I don't know what went wrong with this guy, he grabbed the gun, he could have gotten an hostage and take off in a hurry, but no he chose to kill 3 people at random in the courthouse for no apparent reason.Judges are known sometimes to be real jerks and convicts sometimes want a piece of them but they clearly said that this judge was a great one and very fair to all defendents. You never know.Patrick
