Real Driving Does driving for real make you better at racing games?
skedad replied to Aequitas619's topic in Computer Gaming
I may have had a crazy rant, but it doesn't mean I was totally dissing racing... This remark now is true... man if the game is SO realistic and can really make you feel like you are really a part of it... Well, then you go a little beyond driving! And yeah, some when you feel you have to over-steer... Those would freak me out in real life! -
I have been married to my wife for over 3 years now... And they have been great years! And we were quite serious for about a good year before we even got married.... And even before that we were friends that grew into something more.I can't say that everyone's idea of love will be the same, but I began to realize that the little things that we did for each other... without having to put a whole lot of thought into it... straightening my shirt, or me just getting something for her even before she realized she wanted it. It was like not finishing each others' sentences, but at times just knowing each other so well to just do these things! We are apart right now distance, because she is taking on a Travel Nurse assignment. And it is rough, but we communicate well and thank god for the internet! It takes a sound from her and I just take it with me anywhere, anytime... Love with my wife is just looking at her, and seeing things different each time, but each just as important as the next. It doesn't have to be overly mushy or always hearts in our eyes... Love is also the respect we give each other, too.I think I could probably be typing at this all day, because when you have that right person and have found that love, then you basically try to apply it to everything you do!*I'm really going to have to follow this topic to see how everyone else feels about it...*

Poetry For Points Bump up your score a little

"Ode to Xisto" Geocities was the place for me, Til it got overrun with banner and ad. It was time to leave you see, Yahoo's hosting had made me mad. My sister began using one and one, She said she liked it, it was fun. It worked for her, she had the money, But I was broke: no cash, no funny! So onto the internet I went with haste, To find free hosting, no time to waste. Stumbled upon Xisto, did I... Using forums to learn and reply, Webhosting with a good ideas and great taste! So after a while I began to post, Credits to be had, and I made the most; Of what I knew, and where to post them When I had enough credits, they gave a site to SKEMB! Thanks Xisto for giving me this space, To have fun and have room for my peeps... Yahoo! Geocities gives me the creeps, And now I have this site to rub in their face! -
http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ That is the address that is atop my browser when trying to open cPanel... It is not an old of link. I try to put popular and more used links on my 'homepage' so that I am not always having to find links and always retyping them it... And that link was the one for cPanel....
-
Well, after attempting to login to cPanel again, I went ahead and tried both of your links and it still doesn't do anything... I haven't tried FTP, because I am no a work computer, and the only way I can think to try to open anything FTP related to my site would be through the cPanel... at least at this moment. I was planning on checking on file locations, but can't really do it without entry... I just need to find some time that I can really try to get into the problem.
-
Hey all... I was trying to get into my cPanel to try to move some files, and it entered this page error:Not FoundThe server was not able to find the document (./frontend/rvblue/index.html) you requested. Please check the url and try again. You might also want to report this error to your webhost.cpaneld/11.23.6 Server at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ this mean anything or make any sense to any of you!!??Any kind of response is appriciated...Thanks all!- skedad -

Well, I guess I didn't really realize the speed until I come into work here and use this Safari browser.... I would think any kind of browser I use on these computers and this network would be slower than usual. Sorry, it is very early here/ very late into the morning... and I was just rattling off the top of my head. I really don't seem to have any problems with Safari at home... So anything on this network would slow down.... - skedad -

I was about to say that I have installed and now used Google Chrome, but was about to say there was nothing that stood out. I guess it is good to know that there was not a problem loading and running Chrome, unlike I have notice slow process and locking up from Internet Explorer.I was also about to say that it seems to fit the profile of the tabbing system like Firefox, but it really doesn't need to have so many toolbars and actions like Internet Explorer. I use Apple Safari at work on our Macs... It is not horrible, but it basically began to slow down to almost no usage. I have not noticed that with Google Chrome.I have worked on my website and have previewed my new changes in Internet Explorer, and then Mozilla Firefox... Those are the defaults I have been using... Then I checked Safari and then Chrome... I liked that each of them have cool similarities, but then each have their differences...So it seems like Chrome stands up well with the other browsers... But I will still just have to see what else it is capable of... but so far, so good!- skedad -

I am running on a lot of different versions here at work. I was hoping to try to post in a Mac forum. I don't usually use Macs, but I have too many of them here at work. We have an old G3, and right now I am running on a Leopard... And there is also a design computer that runs on Tiger. So many Macs, but plan to try to update them all if we can. I am just trying to remember how to pull so many files left and right, and I keep thinking PC and it like always makes so many copies! But I do like to use the Macs for the design suites. I just think that I got so used to right clicking on a PC that I need to remember not to Ctrl the operations, but use the info key. Man oh man, so much to try to remember!

Renaming collection of Pictures (files)!
skedad replied to soleimanian's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Im not really sure how I rename a large group of pictures. If I can I try to make similar groups and then maybe number them, too. I usually seem to let a lot of it alone unless like making webpages... Then I definately try to make them into other catagories. I thik I would try that little follow through, but I don't have anything to try to rename. But it is good to know it works, in case I do it later. -
I meant to try that out.. maybe when I have a little more time available. I guess it seems like it is a similarity of Limewire. I am hoping that it will excell in different areas, and maybe operate in places where Limewire is and was lacking. It will at least be another installed data share program on my computer, if it is not as good as it sounds. But all in all, I am glad that you posted it, and it is definately worth my time...

I missed out on that one now, too. Now that I am putting in so many hours at work, it would be nice to be able to put in a few dollars here and there, and heck, still post.I would think that adding purchasing would be additional income or financial addition to the forums, or to the service overall.... Hmmm guess I will just wait and see what happens in the future.

I do remember it being that way, too. But then I was having problems with my website getting off the ground, so I just kept posting... It helped me get known a little more, plus it helped me get more of a feel for Xisto. By the time I was ready, I had way over 100 and like 20ish... So I was doing pretty good, too. Now it is like trying to keep it around 10... I was good with 20, but I just cannot find the time these days with my hectic work schedule..But if you keep up with the postings, you will be fine! Heck go back through a lot of older stuff, especially topics of interest, and you will be back up there before you know it... And sometimes breaking out an old topic is good for us too!

I'm A Little Lost: MapleStory Or RuneScape ?
skedad replied to cassie1405241527's topic in Computer Gaming
I have never even heard of Maple Story. I did play Runescape, but I was never really serious about it. I did it when I had free time on my campus... and when no one else was around to play multiplayer Halo with. My friend got pretty good at Runescape, and I was gonna go along in it with him... But I restarted, and just realized that I wasn't going to keep putting that time into it. I wouldn't play it at home, because if I had the time, I would be playing Playstation. But see, now that I am at work and have a few moments, I think it would be interesting to at least see what this Maple Story is all about. I think a few weeks ago, I was downloading another RPG, but that didn't seem to last long either... I know I am not expecting like Final Fantasy 12, 13 quality, but I would still like to find something to keep a little interest. -
So let us say that it is possible... where would you use it, and would it really work as it is supposed to? And the result would be that... What instant disaster? There is a swarming vortex on the West Coast of the States. So everything is being pulled into Los Angeles, so when it all gets absorbed, what is next? I just don't fully understand the capabilities... shouldn't it be installed in or on a rocket and then boom zap it towards Earth when it is in Space!!?? Then what!!?? The rocket just goes off, no more Earth...Obviously, I have not given it the right amount of thought... But has anybody really? And if so, then bravo, alert me when I have to worry... And I just watch way too many SciFi movies and shows and cartoons to just realize that it is fun to really wonder, but if it were to really happen, then to pray because what good could come from having this technology!!??Just a thought or few...

Real Driving Does driving for real make you better at racing games?
skedad replied to Aequitas619's topic in Computer Gaming
The way I see it is because you are playing, does not mean it is will affect real world in the way you would think. I think that people could learn from racing games, but you will not apply in real life. If someone were to try to perfect driving in a racing game, you would get bored VERY easily... You cannot really put them side by side. You will merge from a yield ramp onto the highway while speeding up, but you need to apply caution to the traffic, not like you will merge right in line and start drafting the car in front of you. You cannot apply the racing game situation with real life because everyone else is not doing the same. There is a level of fun aspect to playing racing games. Sure it is fun as you get older to realize you start doing much better handling the road. But it is learning by control to movement. You learn to get better at holding A down and controlling the car. Arcades make it almost as easier too! Man I am even sitting in a car, and there is a gear shift too! Hence it gives the feeling of being in a fast car. You could be playing Cruisin USA and it could have that feel like the open road, but the cars will try to swerve.I am not trying to dull it down any, and some of it is obvious. I just think that the two should not be confused, and luckily, drivers and players usually get them right... If not, some gamers should not be behind the wheel of an actual car. -
Opera... I have heard so much about it, but I have never tried it.I have downloaded iTunes and before you know it, I now have Safari... I am actually typing my comment on my work Mac... and it is Safari.I have just read some other topics about Google Chrome, and I was able to play around with for like a day or two.I grew up with Internet Explorer. I guess once Internet got popular I used IE... Growing up is a weird thing to say.. but if feels like it has been around that long. I use it as a default because my wife uses it.My browser of choice is Mozilla Firefox... and when I first used it, nobody really wanted to try it... they were like dude, I have Explorer... who needs anything else, it will be confusing and all. And I am glad I switched. I also like to try new things, and also try to see if browsers will continue to be compatible with Dreamweaver. I try to keep updated with both IExplorer and Firefox, and it seems like Apple wants me to keep updated with Safari! haha- skedad -

Nice Models And Free Models, New Site! Game Development
skedad replied to 3d4ya's topic in Computer Gaming
Man, that is pretty cool. I am dying to find the time to sit down and do some 3D work. I have StudioMax and just have not been able to do much with it... Time wise. These are some nice rendered characters and stills. It is seeing more stuff like this makes me want to get back into more creative work.Keep up the good work, and I may have to bookmark that. -
I was going to say that I don't have a problem with it installed on XP, but now that I double checked a previous post, I do see that it did say that XP and Vista both support Google Chrome. I am still very slow to demonstrate the new browser, but I did however finally install and I ran it a little. I will at some point link it to my Dreamweaver, and see if it is compatible.Oddly enough, I was about to say I don't do much with newer browsers. I don't really like using Safari, but ironically, I am using it right now! Our Macs here at work all have Safari. So I really don't mind using newer browsers as long as they work well with me.

Is Your Internet Speed Good Enough Vs. Cost ?
skedad replied to Cookiemonster1405241499's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I have high speed DSL that is a bundled package with phone and DirectTV. So I am very impressed with the quality of speed that I have. I used to have Cable Broadband with local RoadRunner, but that was when I lived in town. Now I am a bit farther out, and so I use DSL. But I have a new home, and I have my lines dug out, and it runs low below the highway too. So I don't seem to have too much traffic, (no pun intended), and the noise is very low, too. -
So from what I am hearing it is only a Windows Vista support, I see. Well, my wife has our laptop and that is the only running version of Vista at the moment. My desktop has been running, and will continue to run Windows XP until I purchase or upgrade to Vista on my desktop. It's kinda funny seeing that right before I went into work tonight, I downloaded the setup file and left it on my desktop. I guess I will not be running it... I would've found out the hard way, but I am so stubborn that I will go ahead and try it for myself... nothing like seeing things for yourself. It may give me requirements and then I will be like, ok no biggy.... I will continue to play with Firefox and Explorer.- skedad -

This movie seemed to really put a lot of detail into throughout. It almost seemed like would not get anywhere, but alas, once he made his suit... it was all on! I am not complaining, I wanted to savor it from start to finish, and it did not disappoint. I gives props to Downey... never would have seen him as an action figure... let alone a superhero.... and he is also in Tropic Thunder... action kind of humor film.... Where has he been!!??I loved the CG of course... How it adds to all of the new comic book to movie genre... I am thinking the comic superhero movie genre is becoming my favorite. I love the action and how well everything is starting to convert over well... and a lot of these flicks have a great soundtrack, too.Ok, so in a way I started to get off track... but it is ok. I still loved the movie and plan to get it on DVD... along with many others that keep adding to my collection.

I am only able to do basic internet here at work, or else I would so be trying to install the new browser. Once I get a chance to get home and install, then I will have to put more on this posting.I am a huge fan of Firefox, but I also believe that if Google Chrome is the next best thing... then I am sure I will be trying it... I just think that Explorer was the way to go... probably at the time the only way... and then Firefox came along... Everything has to evolve, and I plan on trying the new Google browser. Good topic... at least I think so.Will get back to it when I can install and then I will critique.- skedad -

I did happen to download the beta, and I see it is running much better than 7 did. I like that is may still be in testing, so they can just fine tune what the bugs are. And they can still work on what ever else is needed, too.I am a try and true Firefox fan, but my wife uses Internet Explorer... it is nice to know that she can have something newer and updated.I will just still have to play around a little more...- skedad -

It is nice to know that people will be able to come into my site and not have filth on the top, bottom, sides, pop ups and then some.I try to just surf for downloads here and there and all I see is XXX sites and banners... It is horrible! And thank goodness I don't have that on my family site!I do however, like I posted above, do make my own ads for my site. I do it for enjoyment, and it adds the more professional feel. I try to combine my banners and buttons with what is being displayed, or if it involves a person, I try to match up with their interests. Ad free, and hassle free!THANK YOU Xisto!
