Ahh I agree with you about how it's often the copyright holder's responsibility to take things off the web. But I find it that when the copyright holder does report the stolen material to the site owner, in this case YouTube, then it is removed pretty quickly. But, honestly, I think that most of the copyright owners wouldn't be bothered.

Web Hosting From Your Own Local Machine. (very Easy)
Vue replied to swizzeron's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I'm not sure, but going through the instructions in my head, I think it won't work. Ehh this stuff is so confusing. I think that if you want a webhost, just use Xisto. Hahahhahaha. (Yes, how ironic.) I'm pretty sure that using your computer as a server increases your chances of getting hacked. You can download anything to get MySQL/PHP enabled on your computer (not exactly sure what these sort of programs are meant to be called, though). I personally use EasyPHP. This is just to test your file or make an offline website (can turn into Intranet, but I'm not sure how).It sounds very sucky regarding the ISP plans (personal, business...). -
Argh! So unfair! I suppose it's okay to offer this amnesty since Indonesia's not very wealthy. Anyway, have you ever heard of people charged for acquiring pirated Windows? Because I haven't. Haha, I don't have to question the credibilty of this post because there are many many exact articles on the Internet. I think you have to ues the

Irrelevant, but first off, I think you should be using the slang term "wannabe". I found what you said useful, but I think it should be shortened. I'm really confused when you say this. Wait, no I'm not. (After searching "web design" and "Sydney".) I wonder what the benefit of knowing the "going rates" in one's area would be. Does it really matter where your web designer is? After all, it's the World Wide Web. Nice post, pbolduc; I haven't seen someone post something like this yet.

I would think that a lot (or most) of the content in YouTube is copyright material. To be honest, a lot of the things that aren't copyright material aren't worth watching. With the exception of "Kiwi". Looking at your topic title, I though of other things. There have been many headlines on television of Sydney about teenage fights and so on on YouTube. Damn. It's always YouTube. I don't think that commercials should be declared illegal because, after all, the person is doing them a favour, right? But yeah - what you said about copyright. Hmm...everything about copyright seems so fuzzy for YouTube, doesn't it?

My most used software would have to be...(not in any particular order): * Microsoft Word * Mozilla Firefox * Windows Media Player * VPSKEYS (for typing Vietnamese text) * AVG (it's always on) * Microsoft Encarta (everything Microsoft seems to be good) * Encarta Dictionary Tools (inclusive of Microsoft Encarta) * Spybot * Adobe PHOTOSHOP - most loved * SmartFTP All my other programs are hardly ever in use.

Preview Your Website In Ie From Non-windows Os
Vue replied to delivi's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I would personally ask a friend over IM instead to try my site out for me. Or send them the .zip file. Seriously, I wouldn't wait 2000 minutes (that's well over a day) to get a screenshot. A screenshot means hardly anything. Haha, which reminds me of the saying, "Beauty is only skin deep", out of context, I know, but I thing it sorta suits. ^^ But if you're a really really lonely person, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to use "IE capture". -
3rd Best Networker In The State!
Vue replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
WOOOT~! Great! You must be very proud! One thing I have to ask though, is whether the competition is that big. Because I myself have had no computer achievement as great as that. Maybe it's because I'm only in high school...with a High Distinction for a computer competiton. Still good, I suppose. Oh wait, stupid me. You say that there are 35 competitors (3rd is still great)...but do these competitiors get specially selected to enter the competition? -
This seems like a really unique idea, even though I don't quite grasp the concept. I think what you need to do, because I myself don't quite understand the difference, is clearly explain the benefits/difference of choosing Shoutbox Pro compared to any other free tagboard hoster like Cbox. Good luck!

Does Bravenet happen to be synonymous with Bravehost? *Searches - yes indeed! It is!* Well, Bravenet was my absolute first host. (And boy did I hate it.) I used it three years ago. Hahaha sadly, all those games mean nothing to me. I'm a geek too, I suppose, but no gamer. Aniki, have you heard of the anime called Samurai Champloo? That's the only anime I've ever watched. It's a bit slow-paced to me. Well, good luck with getting hosted! Hope to see your site sometime soon!

Ah I don't get this. And I don't understand how I'm meant to write at least 3 lines about something which only requires a short response. Well, I guess I am doing it right now. I don't get these sexual jokes. Bleh. Especially the stamp collecter one!

Who Is Your Favourite Free Host? whats your fav free host?
Vue replied to teartrack_sos's topic in General Discussion
Oh yes, WeaponX, I am hosted. Woot! One thing though, don't you find: ...a bit threatening? (No seriously, wouldn't that be feeding a bit of a computer addiction? *Gulps*) Another minor concern is that there are a number of bad reviews at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ about Xisto. I don't know if these things are true, I just hope they aren't. Hopefully someone can come along and clarify every "bad" thing found in the 6 pages. -
Who Is Your Favourite Free Host? whats your fav free host?
Vue replied to teartrack_sos's topic in General Discussion
Astahost, of course! What a strange topic. I haven't tried Xisto yet (which is really ironic of me to go to FASTREPLY ) but I think I'm feeling quite delerious over the fact that I got accepted. And even more so because it was accidently delayed and built up more...excitement. Woot! Xisto IS GREAT! - Or so, I am 98% convinced, despite not even being hosted yet, because of the positive reviews! No, I will not conclude at such. I will go back and edit this lousy premature reply after I've tried the hosting. -
Oh thanks! I think you didn't include the bit about the motion blur in your topic post. I like how you did your video tutorial (may I ask what program you used to record it?) but I think that if there were large subtitles to aid in the video tutorial, I think it would help because it's a bit too quick at some parts. Nevertheless, I think most people would grasp the tutorial anyway. EDIT: Oh damn. I didn't realise that there was Unregistered HyperCam 2 on the top left hand corner. Stupid me.

Hello! Everyone in this subforum seems to have posted questions rather than suggestions, I suppose this is okay, right? There seems to be a rather large amount of poor English speakers from Vietnam who do really weird erratic things around here. Rather than them simply being denied hosting or have their topics ignored due to their poor level of English, I want to help them around. No, I wouldn't actually use the forums, I would PM them. Yes, I understand that this is an English forum and that all sites must be in English. I just think that such people would need help. So if you find a lost random Vietnamese, simple point them over to me, Vue. (Sorry if I've posted in the wrong subforum; this one seemed post suitable. Sorry if this idea of mine seems unsuitable to you, also.) Thanks. (EDIT: Thanks to whoever renamed and moved this topic!)

Oh yes, of course. The second one if you have a white background.

Sharing Music Online To what extent is it legal?
Vue replied to pyost's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Online laws are so blunt aren't they? We hardly know them. I'm not sure, but I would think it would be okay to stream music using a flash player. I mean, it would be way harder to extract the audio compared to ripping the music of say, the radio. And the radio is legal. I would need clarification on streaming music, though. Providing download links? I wouldn't recommend it. -
Ahh I've long quit Habbo Hotel! I don't know, I'm really soaked into cute Asian sites. Like Cyworld. Habbo Hotel doesn't seem girly enough to me.
-
Ah damn. It sounds like it's illegal. But then it would be good to be on the safe side and include then in your credits. I mean, in slideshows and mini movies, school teachers don't care, just so long as you credit the creator. But then school teachers don't know much about copyright laws.EDIT (more points to add):I would understand that it's illegal to use copyrighted music, and that we would have to request the performer to let us use the track. But how many people have done so? How many people have contacted say, Britney Spears (since unimatrix said "performer"), and asked if they could use her music? Shouldn't at least some performers make it easier to obtain their music for educational/decent works more easier?

For some reason, the site seems to be dead. And this Yahoo Funny person seems like a bot to me.

Coke Music Vs Habbo Hotel Which would you prefer?
Vue replied to iGuest's topic in Websites and Web Designing
(Haha replying to a topic started by a person who is banned.) I didn't vote because I have no idea about Coke Music. I have used Habbo Hotel before, but I don't like it. The girl characters look...manly. Not very feminine. (Just my opinion.) So I haven't been using Habbo Hotel since. -
Eh whatever. I know that this this story's two months old, which is pretty new, but I think the owners of Google, being billionaires, would have a way out of this.
