Well it looks like this issue got resolved. I was just noticing that on my desktop icons yesterday when I decided to change to a black wallpaper. It does get annoying, but at least there's a solution for it, which I should try. Right now. Now the only thing left is to have Windows come up with different skins for Vista or have a program where people could create some. It gets annoying seeing the same black bar (albeit well polished) all the time on the desktop. I tried WindowBlinds but it abruptly messed up my PC, which then led me to reboot the entire system.

Tv-links Watch Free Anime, Shows, Movies And More!
Moon Child replied to demolaynyc's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Wow, that'll give a whole new meaning to the words "couch potato". I have a friend who is a huge fan of vintage shows from the 60s and 70s, so I'm sure to give her the link. I really don't hope the government doesn't come hard on them like they have with YouTube and all, but then again, it's expected if you're showing hundreds of TV shows and movies. -
Core FTP Lite. It's free and gets the job done. I don't really use much of it rather than uploading/making changes, so I wouldn't know much of its features. I think besides that one Cute FTP is also another good one, except my trial had ended and didn't bother to look for a full version online.

Yeah, extremely surprised. I thought people would of known better. If it were up to me I'd go back to XP, but I bought this computer with Vista, so it's pointless to go buy an XP OS CD (and I had to buy this PC on emergency, so I had no other choice). It's probably because I don't have sufficient RAM, but the first couple of days Vista went running slow on me. Then it got to the point where it halfway crashed and would slow down for everything it did, until I wound up doing a recovery for the system and rebooted it as brand new. Now I don't seem to be having any problems with it, but I'll probably update to 1GB of RAM sometime soon to avoid that happening again. Well, whatever makes people happy. I just hope they can have at least 1GB of memory. Two would probably be the best to run at 'normal' pace and not worry about slowing down.

Wow, but a decade to go? I guess they're only using them in extreme emergencies such as wars. Just think of all the people it would save, but at the same time, the financial burden upon the people who pay for it, either by taxes or up front. I guess it would be safer to let it become public (or at least available anyway) in 10 years since the economy isn't exactly at its greatest right now.

Funny I happen to run into this right now, since I just got done reformatting my computer. It's always best to take all these precautions, what with the scanning and all, but I found out if you were able to back up your files a fresh formatting works best. I've yet to get a worm/virus/hacked, but I'll make sure to take these precautions later on in the day when I'm done setting things up.

I think the only reasonable issues I had with the hosting is not my site working, but the features in CPanel. I wanted to look into my WordPress files and install other scripts, except it turns out that I can't because it's giving me a 404 error. I e-mailed the host about it but they just gave me two automated messages back. I don't want to speak to a robot, I want a person to fix it. Turns out I can't change themes either among other things. Anyone else having this issue? I don't know whether to stick with Xisto or move to another one since it's been like this since the renovation.

Wow, who knew? Well, even if it is 'right' with the temperature and water elements, Earth's wildlife and plants are another story. That, and just because a planet doesn't seem right for our standards of living doesn't mean that there aren't other type of life form on it. We just assume that we're the only ones that can survive in another planet.

I'm not so sure about WMP. I've always had mixed feelings with it. The cons being it's always been a slow responder to 'quick clicks' when it came to just spontaneously choosing music to play. The pros, well, I would have to say the eye candy. Other than that, I can't see anything else that has improved its loading time. I'd really rather stick to WinAmp, it's way more efficient running than the overly large WMP.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing. It's been years since I've used Yahoo! Messenger but I suppose taking a look at how this one works wouldn't hurt. I guess it's just another way for them to 'stick it to the competition'. I've always had bad experiences with the old Yahoo! Messenger, mainly connectivity problems, so let's see how this one holds up.

10/10.Incredibly simple to use with no need of random links and images you don't care about. Just the pure and simple search engine without bells and whistles. Plus, now that iGoogle is out, you can customize is to your liking, including themes that are time sensitive (which refresh on their own btw).

I'd have to say Photoshop 7.0 hands down. I've been using it since its initial release and have yet to upgrade to CS2/3/whichever they're on now. I see no use in trying to get another one, but I might as well since I did upgrade my computer. That, and I can see what the big deal everyone is making over it.

I've had my Vista running PC for over a good month now and I have to say I'd prefer XP over this. I had to uninstall the current Vista theme, download WindowBlinds, and change the theme so my desktop could run faster. Unfortunately the regular unzipping feature takes about a minute or so to take out a file, so I had to get WinRAR to do that too. Vista is nothing but eye candy to me, and see no real improvement over XP.

Web Designers Can Have A Myspace Too!
Moon Child replied to mtnbluet's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I don't think I could connect both MySpace and having actual skill in web designing together. Most kids that use that thing don't now a lick of basic HTML and yet boast so much after their pre-made themes are up and running. They're not going to make any effort, as long as it looks better than someone elses. Plus, if you're serious about web designing then you should know that MySpace is probably the worse place to try your hand at, since the average page can crash a person's computer if they're over-filled with a lot of junk that they put on it (too much videos, .gifs, background music). It's just a better deal if you were to learn from a legitimate site like W3 schools instead of a place where animated .gifs as a background are considered 'nice'. -
Trouble is, many people die from overdosing on gaming binges, and almost always either end up in life-threatening situations or in this case, death. So many deaths have actually been the cause to why the Chinese government (even though this man is Korean, but I'm sure they have restrictions too) have restricted players to play for only a couple of hours a day. Not like they have a choice, since it's mandatory. It's not the fact that video games can kill you, because if that was the case, I'd be dead over a decade and a half ago, but it depends on the moderation. Everything is based on moderation, video games are no exception. People who do this probably have the misconception that they're immortal and take advantage of the fact that they're young and unstoppable. Not true. Just because alcohol is allowed, doesn't mean it can't kill. All in moderation and no one gets hurt.

That's very true, because after all, they have stocks too, so they have to be careful when it comes to a decision like that. I have to admit I'm a GMail addict. I love how the logo is so compact yet effective, and ridding it of its name like that is just unnatural. Can't say I'm rooting for the change, but I really hope they don't.

It's hard to say, but I'd go with either the Soul Calibur series or Mortal Kombat. MK because I grew up with it as a kid and even now still enjoy its fighting style and diverse characters. SC because of its newer generation looks and further-in storylines. I have to admit it though, the story modes are usually short, but then again, I wouldn't expect a long storyline from a fighter game.

Honouring The Dead VA Tech Massacre
Moon Child replied to xboxrulz1405241485's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Agreeing with some members here I do agree that this sort of thing happens everyday in the rest of the world, but it's because the US is so plush and protected and generally don't expect this sort of thing, it catches us off guard. In other places having social riots and mass massacres are people's living reality, but not with us. I just don't know why anyone would be scared of the different races who they think would do this sort of thing. When you get down to it and look past the racial fixture, we're all individuals with minds. Some more sane than others. So if you're going to be scared, then be scared and paranoid of everyone around you. The saying always goes, "It's the ones you least expect it from." If there can be pedophiles caught red-handed who happen to be respected members of a community, I wouldn't doubt it anyone is an exception. -
It's easier gameplay-wise, but story-wise they throw too many things at you too fast. Instead of answering questions from the first one with sentences they throw even more questions. From what my boyfriend told me they've also commented that KH3 will be a whole other storyline with no connections to the past 3 made (1, 2, and CoM). I have no idea what SE is thinking, but it just better make sense.

I recently 'upgraded' (I'm not even sure if that's the word to use with this computer) because my old one was two steps away from frying on me, and as much as I didn't want to, I bought a Vista computer. Yes everything looks more polished and prettier, but at what expense? You need to spend a good $800+ (unless you find a better deal) to run 2gbs of RAM (most computers costing up to that much already have 2gbs unless it's customized) so everything can run smoothly. Unfortunately I have 1 and it's amazing that on the third day of having this new PC the bubble screensaver was lagging. It's own screensaver. Program-wise I haven't had time (moving issues and all) so I've only installed Photoshop 7.0 and it seems to be running smoothly. Game-wise I've only tried American McGee's Alice, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Battlefield 2142. Out of those three only Battlefield didn't work. Probably needs more power. I'm not so worried about it though, since this was an emergency purchase and will be upgrading to a media PC soon enough.

Oddly enough, he and the majority of the world don't like that game. I've never played it and since I'm behind a dial-up connection I won't even start, but if I had a faster speed internet I don't think I'd play the game in question. If I wanted RPG-styled games then I'd used my consoles.

Twins With 10 Years Of Age Difference
Moon Child replied to Punkcat's topic in Science and Technology
Wow, this is a first I hear. Since there's no ethical issues involved I could see the personal freedom in it, just as long as the government doesn't barge in. Although, it'd be odd to have a twin a whole decade younger than you. At least their dates wouldn't confuse them. -
MySpace This one has been long awaited
Moon Child replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in General Discussion
A lot of people who tend to 'worship' MySpace and argue it's the 'best way to contact friends/people' somehow forgets that there's such things as e-mails, telephone calls, texting, and good old fashion snail mail. No people, MySpace isn't just another way to keep in contact, it's the only way you can get comments on your looks without wanting (unless you put that pitiful "OMG I'm fugly!" caption under your pictures so people have to give you pity comments to reassure your self-esteem. Yes, I detest MySpace. A lot.
