  1. I'd have to go with Mortal Kombat since it's been around for a good while, so the stature on that series can't be expected to fail. Then again, just like many other people, I grew up playing and loving Mortal Kombat and everything about it. Now with the latest game, Armageddon, it's even harder to look away from and say you want the other one. I guess if you really can't decide then you can try renting them either through a psychical store or an online one.
  2. From the looks of it there's semi-mixed emotions about this game. I had originally wanted to purchase it, but saw that Best Buy had none in stock, so I went for the Super Mario 64 DS. Can't say I'm disappointed though. It's the 64-bit era's finest game in my pocket. I'm thinking now that maybe I'd buy the New Super Mario Bros. game only when it's price has dropped or I'm given the opportunity to splurge on it. I am a devout Mario fan, so maybe I'll be a little biased as well.
  3. xboxrulz is right. "Wiimote" is a tern coined by IGN.com when they reviewed it at an E3 interview. Just another hybrid of names that people use to show their affection towards it. Although I don't know why anyone would compare the Wiimote against the Guitar Hero guitar, since the guitar is an add-on like Donkey Kong's bongos or that microphone in Hey You Pikachu. The Wiimote is an actual piece of hardware included as a necessity for gameplay.Pretty much like all new launch consoles the game line-up isn't up to par, but it's understandable. Designers are getting warmed up to the new technology, therefore a game won't be without it's bugs until after people know how to use the coding efficiently. The future looks bright for all 3 companies, at least that's hat my optimistic views would like to think. They just need to sit down and really come up with innovations that'll interest the consumer, not only their pockets (I'm looking at you Sony).
  4. I think I'd prefer Aston over any other shell. It pretty much has skins that look like the Vista interface and comes with a lot of extra features that won't eat away at your memory. WindowBlinds would probably be another one, but that one likes to take a up a lot of memory for most people (at least that's what I always hear).
  5. Thanks for the screenshots xboxrulz! I've yet to buy he movie, but I suppose that's partly my fault. I went to a local Wal-Mart because it's closer to me than a Best Buy, and they didn't pack neither the HD or BR version of the movie, just regular DVD. Well maybe this weekend when I have more time. I have to commend to the artists though, those penguins are not far from realistic.
  6. It's amazing because a lot of people who fist get into web designing or just create a site for the fun of it do those mistakes. I would think the first time around everyone at least makes three or four of them, but hopefully if they're really serious about it they'll improve on it and take in the criticism that people give.
  7. That's definitely one movie that I've been looking forward for the longest time to be released. Good thing the BD has extra features, that way I'll be able to use it on my PS3. Finally, some use for it. It's funny because when I first saw the commercial for the theater release I thought it was about penguins mating. You know, since they do a little 'dance' to gain a mate for life. Apparently not if it's a family movie.
  8. Then again, GaiaOnline is overpopulated by a lot of pre-teens/teens that it's ransacked with hormones flying everywhere. That's especially true on the General Discussion boards where every other topic seems to be about fornication. >> It's entertaining for a bit, but it's hard to meet people halfway in disucussions there when everyone's so self-centered upon themselves.Ok, I went off-topic there, but yeah, I haven't tried Maple Story. Heard it was fun but after a while it wears off. Like that new car smell.
  9. You can always try Gimp, PaintShop Pro, and regular MS Paint. I'm not sure if there's other programs out there that can do that for free, but those seem to be the most popular.
  10. The series really is a great one. I wonder how well the third installment will do on the PSP. I managed to finish the second one after my boyfriend did, so I had to keep him at bay to not spoil it for me. The game was just as good, if not better, than the first one. The graphics albeit not that important to me, are so real-like, it challenges the PS3's current line-up. There's not much to say but give it countless of props. The game developers did an amazing job and you can tell they poured their heart on it. Will the PSP installment preserve its previous titles? I wouldn't know, but I can't wait.
  11. Problem was solved. Thread can be deleted.
  12. From what I heard on GameSpot it was announced to be released in Australia soon.Well, either way, I can't use the MoogleNet system because I'm not in a location nearby to get high speed internet service. I wish I could though, I really want that Onion Knight class.
  13. Wow, I didn't even know there was such a thing as CSS3. I don't really keep up with the coding news, but all of those features Valkyria mentioned seemed to come in real handy, especially the drop shadows and round corners. That would really enhance the visual looks of a site even if the creator is a beginner. It sure would cut down on loading time too since people probably won't have to use try to re-create those features in an imaging program and go through all that trouble.
  14. I've been in the market debating whether to buy a new Vista laptop now or later and seeing as how Vista's problems popped up tremendously after its release I decided to wait., The only thing I'd probably have trouble with is my PC games (American McGee's Alice, Battlefield 2142, Rayman Raving Rabbids) and the installation. Since I don't really own many (those are the ones I frequently play) I was concerned with the compatibility, but with patches here and there I'm sure it'll run smoothly.
  15. I read about that. I suppose they saw that the PS3 sales weren't that great and Capcom has to watch out for themselves. So to make up for it, they need a much better profit from other areas than just waiting for the PS3 sales to even out. Smart move on their part, bad for all the fanboys who scream to high heaven because DMC is no longer exclusive. As long as it's out for the PS3 it shouldn't matter if its exclusive or not, but that's just me.
  16. Every single game? Wow, I don't think I can do that, but I'll try. This isn't my full list since I'm constantly buying new ones (as an future game designer I can't help it, it's like instinct). Best Freeware

I've learned my lesson about freeware programs: don't download too many or your computer will be full of wanted apps and possible spyware/adware. Best to always scan to be safe right? There are though, some applications that are pretty helpful to me: HFC - A hexing program that lets you colorize your font for signatures in forums or sites. CamStudio - A small 'recording' program that lets you record your doings on your desktop (or folders). Great for creating desktop videos of tutorials or if you're showing a friend how to fix/create something on their comp. PSPVideo9 - For those who have a PSP, this software is a must. Converts video files into .mp4 files which is needed to play video on a PSP. Terragen - A free landscape generator. Perfect free program to test out your 3D graphical skills or if you're a freelancing digital artist/game designer. Icon Maker - A program that lets you make your own desktop icons (for those who get tired easily of the regular ones).
  18. Thanks for the program tip! I've been meaning to clean out my computer for the past couple of days (seeing as how I only have 20 some odd gigs from the 70 total). Even if I don't clean everything off it'll help delete a lot of random bugs here and there. Now if I could just get ahold of a external disk drive so I can transfer all of my media files...
  19. Those are some really helpful sites out there. These links focus more on the building up on the sites themselves: Good Tutorials (for those who want to learn more Photoshop/site making skills) W3 Schools (a coding site that'll help beginners to experts) BioRust (provides content for download and tutorials for web design)
  20. Here's another semi-old story involving (or blaming) another video game franchise (DMC) for people's actions: Link Everywhere you turn video games are being turned into the 'bad guys' and causing people to play the blame game, only because they don't want to accept the fact that just maybe it was their fault. I've personally been playing violent video games since I was a young kid and was even given firearm training (for hunting), but that doesn't mean I was ready to take advantage of the situation and use it as an excuse to hurt others. If a child isn't restricted by the parents then you run the risk of the government doing it by passing laws. Think of it as a nice way to let parents know about their bad parenting skills. Don't make the rest of us suffer because of your incompetents. All I know is that the majority of the time no one makes their choices by force. That's why there's a rating label on a game box, front and back. Use it, love it, make it your own.
  21. I don't know why, but this has always been an issue with me and IE. Over the years no matter what the program I use or even if I had a new computer, IE would open up and give me a random buggy page. Part of the reason I left IE to begin with and moved with FF. Can't trust IE if my life depended on it, but I suppose all of us have our own preferences.
  22. I've never had any interest in the XBOX, which is nothing personal, but I just don't seem to have an interest in the game library. The only titles I could probably digest are Fable and F.E.A.R. The rest fall too much into the sci-fi category, which I'm not really a fan of. To top it off F.E.A.R will be released for the PS3 soon, so I really wouldn't need an 360 to begin with. To me the PlayStation library is well-balanced, many titles and age ranges, a perfect combination. It just so happens that Sony likes to toy with prices at high, but looking at all of their other electronics, it's the same concept (computers, TVs, entertainment systems). It just ticks me off that after making me pay $600+ for a 60GB PS3 they couldn't even throw in a $15 memory card transfer cable. The lineup for the PS3 was horrible with only Resistance holding onto the edge, but thankfully everything will be brought back up to the surface with their trusty franchises - MGS, DMC, FF, and so on. Things are always bound to be worse in the beginning before they get better.
  23. Having both a PSP and DSLite systems, I have to say, the PSP probably takes my vote over for web browser (that still doesn't make me forgive Sony for packaging a 60GB PS3 with absolutely NO memory card transfer cable - it's the least they could do). Since I really don't even use the PSP for browsing online I really doubt I'd have any interest in the DS version. One of the few things I'm looking forward to on the DS is Line Rider though. I'm just not sure how a TV tuner would work on the DS, looks so small to be that powerful.
  24. Yahoo! Messenger - Always seems to be buggy with me. Closes down when I try to message someone, so I haven't used it in years.AIM - Too simplistic for my means and doesn't have at least half of the features Windows Live does (last time I checked).Windows Live Messenger - I'm more partial to this one. Has multiple features, changeable colors, and other things. Since this messenger's been the one I've used most and has been most reliable to me, I'd vote WLM.
  25. I've yet to use the latest version (still stuck with 7.5), but from what I see the response is mixed. I don't use the messenger that much anymore, but I think I'm fine with this version for now.
