Statistics Don't Update
.:Brian:. replied to xboxrulz1405241485's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Nice to know that it is fixed (I wouldn't be able to also confirm this, as I no longer have hosting with Xisto, but rather with Xisto - Web Hosting, which I never had a statistics update problem).Maybe what the problem was could be described in a little more detail? Was it an issue with cPanel itself, or some configuration thing, or what? -
Statistics Don't Update
.:Brian:. replied to xboxrulz1405241485's topic in Websites and Web Designing
To me, it would seem fine that awstats only updates when you hit the update button....afterall that would lower the resource usage on the server a ton and even out stats updates....because not everybody needs statistics to update all the time.As for the other issue, I think that is something xisto will have to work on, but if I had to guess, you don't have unmetered bandwidth or anything, it is just that cPanel is not correctly showing the information. I could be wrong about this, as I am just basing this off of some experience I had as an admin of another free hosting company a while back, where we had some of the same issues with stats updating in cPanel. -
Gmail 2.0 Do you think it works fast and smoothly ?
.:Brian:. replied to PerHapsYouSeen's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well gmail itself is still in beta, so nothing is really completed....I find it somewhat strange as to how long this has been in beta...i mean honestly....can't they just rename it to be out of beta, and then keep making changes like other companies, such as yahoo, and aol do?Anyway, I love the new chat features that they provide...With emoticons and group chats...those are some great improvements in my opinion! -
I think you need to add a float: left to your css code with the li. So change your css code from li { line-height : 15px; padding-left : 15px; padding-top : 0px; background : url(../images/file.png) 0 3px no-repeat;} to: li { line-height : 15px; padding-left : 15px; padding-top : 0px; background : url(../images/file.png) 0 3px no-repeat; float :left;} And see if that does the trick.

Group For Computinghost Hosted Members? Is there one?
.:Brian:. replied to .:Brian:.'s topic in Web Hosting Support
Thanks for fixing my group status so that I am no longer losing credits. And this is off topic, and I think it has been asked before...but are there any banners or stuff that Xisto - Web Hosting has already made? -
Computing Host Astahost is great but....
.:Brian:. replied to .:Brian:.'s topic in General Discussion
I can tell you that my website loads a ton faster with Xisto - Web Hosting than it did with Xisto. So, websites will perform better with Xisto - Web Hosting due to there being less load on the server. -

.:Brian:. replied to .:Brian:.'s topic in General Discussion
Yes, I can say that so far I am really happy with my hosting there (even though it hasn't been very long yet). The speed is amazing (so much faster than the server that all of these free hosting accounts are on). And it seems reliable so far. (not to mention that cPanel has a little bit better looking skin) -
Group For Computinghost Hosted Members? Is there one?
.:Brian:. replied to .:Brian:.'s topic in Web Hosting Support
Well having one more group wouldn't be too much...but it would be something probably somewhat hard to maintain....btw...i did the termination thing...and it said it was successful...(i haven't tested it because my domain name points to my account on the other server now)...but i am still in the hosted group? -
Probably....some of these companies are real....but a lot of them aren't....they are just trying to get some money out of really nothing....

.:Brian:. replied to .:Brian:.'s topic in Web Hosting Support
Ok, well I just thought that way you can show that there are people on paid hosting on the forums here too....but i suppose that would be too much work to figure out.Anyway, oh well....edit: After terminating my account it still says I am in the hosted members group?? does this mean points will continue to be deducted? I would kinda like them to not be if that is possible....but if it isn't thats ok i guess.... -
Hi,Well now that i switched to Xisto - Web Hosting, I would still like to be somewhat active on the forums here (maybe accumulate some credits that i can donate to some people at somepoint or whatever). But I was wondering, if I no longer am having an account is there any way I can be in some 'Xisto - Web Hosting hosted member' group or something?Note: I still have yet to terminate my hosting on Xisto, but I will probably do that shortly as it doesn't point to anything.

Well Xisto has been great, so I decided that I would move on to Xisto - Web Hosting. Well, after going through, having the payment come through paypal....my account doesn't exist on computinghosts site...so now I paid for hosting but haven't gotten any....I am somewhat dissappointed by this, seeing how Xisto provides such great service for free, and yet I pay for Xisto - Web Hosting only to get changed for it and get nothing.I'll see, maybe it just takes them some time for their system to process the accounts. But it would be nice if they said something like that. "Thank you for purchasing your hosting. You'll recieve an e-mail when your account has been set up"....but I haven't even gotten an e-mail from them saying that I purchased my hosting. Only one from paypal.Edit: ok, i just got an e-mail saying my account was set up. So i guess it just takes a bit of time for them to process the information. But maybe that isn't the case with all accounts created. However I can say. The server so far seems really nice and fast!I'll keep people updated on my experience with them.

Well, the method that comes to mind for me (which I am sure you have thought of) is the basic, go through each array one by one....and add the items to a new array. The only problem with this method is that the runtime of it is quite long...as you have to go through your array multiple times...and so i got to think that there is some better solution out there...i'll think about it a bit and see if I can come up with any ideas.

CDMA vs GSM Which will rule the world
.:Brian:. replied to solankyno1's topic in Science and Technology
I have to say that in the areas I have been (now i am in the US here)....CDMA seems to be better....I mean I have signal almost everywhere that I ever go.Yet I have some friends who have GSM (AT&T phones), and their service is awful. It'll show full signal...but the number of dropped calls....or the fact that the phone won't ring one minute, but be in the exact same spot and ring the next....Or even better when you call them and you get this nice little voice saying something along the lines of "Welcome to AT&T we are sorry but this user is currently unable to receive phonecalls at this time. Error blah blah" (now that isn't exact but it is something like that....and why on earth it wouldn't go to voice mail I have yet to figure out)...but that has been my experience with GSM service... -
Also, might I add (even though this has already been solved), another tool to try is GParted (it is a linux application, and you can download a liveCD with just it, for the purpose of managing partitions) Although I am not 100% sure if it works with flash drives, the download isn't too bad, and it works really well on all partition types (plus it can resize partitions for you). The website is: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/index.php Just thought i would add this, since gparted supports so many types of partitions, and so many more features than the windows partition manager thing.

What Speed And Package U Getting From Your Isp? Is it worth it.
.:Brian:. replied to firewire's topic in Computer Networks
Well my internet speed is currently 10Mb per second (or at least that is the speed i get, but that is as fast as the cable I have is), but it is through a university...so i don't know how much it is per month, or how much of my tuition or whatever goes to it.... -
I noticed this as well....it says that the browsers are blocked...yet they appear to function perfectly well... Which leads me to agree with what someone else said about the person designing it (and gave an example story type thing about it)...."oh no!!! it only works in one version of IE....I don't know how to fix it...guess that is all we will support, and we will block everything else. Well i don't know how to do that, so i'll just have the site say that everything else is blocked and/or not supported"

I remember finding this installed on a computer once, and it was used by the person, and they refused to get rid of it.Yet they were complaining their computer was running really slowly, and everything. And one of the issues was smiley central with all of its junk that it puts on the computer....i mean honestly...if it is just the smileys....you shouldn't need 10,000 other applications to go with it.Once I got the person to finally see that that was the issue, I was never able to remove it completely....with all the junk it put on the computer. (between that and a number of other things, a reformat was the only choice)

Well besides the fact that this seems like just plain advertising....A couple things about this host:first of all, with no ads or anything...how in the world does this host stay up? I am confused about what exactly is supporting this host?I haven't even tried signing up for this, but it just seems like one of those hosts that is too good to be true, and will be down shortly, or maybe never provides you with what they say sort of deals.

Office 2007 Has A Black Interface As Well!
.:Brian:. replied to jbitkill's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Ok, thanks for the instructions....Oddly, I think I like the blue color scheme the best (even though the black seems to fit well with vista). It just seems to be brighter, and a little more uplifting and not so dreary looking...As for my experience with Office 2007, i too love the new way of organizing tasks, once you get used to it, it is so much better than having all of those menus everywhere, and I really like it a lot. I got a feeling that more and more applications will start to organize tasks this way. You can just plain find stuff easier, and perform tasks much easier. -
Can't you use an arrayList or something to store checkbox objects (and add them and such)?I am not sure as I haven't ever done any GUI programming in java, so I don't know too much about it, but I would assume you could use an arrayList to store the objects and keep track of them somehow?

Office 2007 Has A Black Interface As Well!
.:Brian:. replied to jbitkill's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Wait....how do you get to the settings to change it?I am running vista and mine is the blue coloring....I poked around a little bit but couldn't find any settings anywhere... -
It is an ok site for testing stuff on....but anything more than that and it doesn't do much good.Although sometimes I have issues with their servers....it wasn't letting me do javascript stuff for some reason for a little while....although the problem seems to have fixed itself. But, I usually just use my home computer for testing, or use Xisto and create a directory somewhere for testing stuff....
