  1. The problem you have with your cell phone is almost definately your speakers.Lets say you have 2.1 sound, so you have 2 speakers on your desk. Your phone is also sitting on your desk but not super close to the spearkers. All of a sudden your speakers start "popping" or it sounds like a very low pitched popping, like a bass beat but its coming from your speakers. The next second your phone rings. There is a lot of interference issues between cell phones, speakers and monitors. Yes if you hold your phone close to your monitor and someone calls it then your monitor starts fuzzing out for a few seconds, almost like what a TV screen looks out when we had VHS and the tracking was off.I have no idea the technical aspects of the problem, I just know the same problem exists for me and basically everyone I know. Because of this I have super low signal in my room, even though as soon as I step right outside my door my signal goes straight to full.Your speakers are probably causing half your problems. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong but that is just my opinion.
  2. Hey guys is there any flash software that is very light and free?I have PHP-Nuke installed on my website and the main banner at the top is a flash file instead of a regular image file.So I need a decent flash creating software.Or if there is a method of directly transforming pictures into flash files. ( It is a still, non-moving picture ).Thanks for the feedback... BitShift
  3. I think I'll just try and live without the flash problem.I also might downgrade to Fedora Core 4. I've heard that FC5 still has bugs in it and stuff and is not able to emulate Windows games as well as FC4 is.This should be fun...
  4. Thanks guys.I just wanted to find a service that I knew would be compatible with Xisto.I'm going to use http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ for the input guys
  5. I have a server that is running a Debian installation of Linux.I want to be able to connect to this computer somehow, and be able to execute commands on it.Reason: My computer that runs Debian is running my Counter-Strike and TeamSpeak server. I want to be able to access the computer remotely to perform server maintenance tasks. My servers are working great. The computer is on a fast line and everything. How exactly do you set up this remote connection.I need to know:What ports to forward, if any, to my server since it rests behind a router. Can I access it through another Linux core, such as RedHat Fedora Core 5 which is what I use on a day to day basis. Is it possible to connect to the Debian Server through Windows XP Professional. My server stays at my Dad's house down the street so I can easily go there and configure it for the remote hosting. If someone could provide detailed instructions on this ( I am a Linux beginner ) it would be very much appreciated. If you do a good explanation then you could probably turn it into a tutorial, which would be good points for you and at the same time help people out like me.Thanks for any input guys.
  6. Hey guys I am running a Red Hat Fedora Core 5 installation of Linux.I'm posting this on my windows partition though because i can't get linux to install the flash plugin!I have tried the following browsers:FireFoxMozillaKonquererI do the automatic install for each browser and still when the browser restarts the flash plugin doesnt workI even did the manual install for each browser by downloading the plugin off their website and then entering the main directory of every web browser i want to install it to and it still isnt workingany suggestions or help would be very much appreciated. its causing me alot of problems, my biggest upset is i cant log on to any forums including Xisto!since it seems like most forums use a flash script for the loginany help or suggestions would be very much appreciated, i have tried everything i could think of and nothing will workim sure some1 out there has had a similar problem

  8. definately google....surprisingly google does less then 50 percent of global searches though
  9. One thing that definately has kept most people from switching is the lack of variety and marketing of MACS.If I walk into Best Buy and look around at all the computer, I would be lucky to see even one MAC.I think that if they focused on getting MAC out there to where everyone can plainly see them they would start getting better business.
  10. OK wait, if you have a set number of actions and each action requires a certain amount of AP, but you do not know the amount of AP, then isn't it going to be the same number of possible solutinos every time, which is all of them...Carefully re-word your problem, its hard to understand. Before anyone can devise any type of "formula", you need to make sure you work out the logic first, and make us be able to understand your logic so we can create a "formula"
  11. P1 and P2 could have been just temporary names until they could decide on actual names...
  12. I'm not an experienced linux user but from what I've heard, SuSe is the easiest Linux version to use if your trying to switch from Windows to Linux.
  13. From what I've heard from my friends dad, who works for HP, he said that Microsoft is actually being pretty lenient towards getting a new copy of windows. In some situations they are providing legit CD keys by mail I think.Even if they don't approve for you to get a CD key they are offering Windows XP at discount prices to those who have been notified about having a pirated copy. But in my personal opinion I have a feeling that they really want to make it hard to do any of this and would rather people go out and buy a new copy, because thats just the way they do things.
  14. I had Windows 98SE for the longest time and loved it.The only reason I got XP is because all these programs and games were coming out and saying "Compatible with Windows 2000/XP only. The reason hardcore windows fans love 98SE is because it had less bugs, better security and stuff. Yes its a horror, 98SE has better security then XP, but go figure its Microsoft, they are moving so slow its backwards :unsure:Anyways I've been experimenting with Linux, or at least trying to experiment. I havn't managed to get my computer to boot off of a Linux installation yet but I'm almost there.I just ordered new computer parts, I am going to put together a computer that just uses linux. Probably turn it into some sort of server later, because even if Windows 98SE was an awesome version of Windows, it still sucks.
  15. First you forget that this is NASA we are talking about. Processors they would have had would have been much more advanced then what was available or even of known to the computing world. Who knows what they were capable of. Second you are assuming that the theory of evolution is true, and that our race is slowly mutating to a more advanced species. Though there are many facts that point to the truth in evolution its still a "theory" so it hasn't been proven its really there yet. Third, one of the major things Einstein was known for ( besides E = mc^2 ) was that it was he who "proved" time travel to be impossible. Time travel was one of the things he believed was not possible. And the atom is not a theory since it is an actual object that can be, and is studied by scientists. The only light you have shed on that is there is possibly, and most likely, alot of secrets and discoveries with the atom that we have not yet achieved, like fusion for example. Yes we know how light works we just don't understand the connnection between light and mass very well. Some argue that light has no mass, some argue that it does. Its a really complicated field if you ever get into it.
  16. I've played CS for about 5 years now and its one of the only games I own, I'm so addicted to it.I'm a Co-leader in my clan and we do CAL and have our own servers, and Ventrilo servers and website and everything.I play Counter Strike: Condition Zero which in my opinion is the best version. It is an awesome balance between the superb gameplay of 1.6 and the awesome graphics of Source.I have played all 3 and Condition Zero is my favorite
  17. You guys can argue all you want but in my opinion there is no possible way to determine whether or not it was fake by examining movies made in black and white from 1969. And, since this is the USA everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and that includes our own government. Then we DID land on the moon until the president decides to get on TV in front of the whole nation and tell us we didn't, because that is about the only way we will ever be able to 100% prove whether or not it really happened. But in my personal opinion, Neal Armstrong was the first person in the human race to step foot on the moon.
  18. Wow interesting article. it even says one of the google ceo guys avoided the subjecti bet google is feeling pretty stupid with being by this, especially with msn being able to avoid the scam, however, msn is slow at indexing web pages, and they only index a small part of the web anyways
  19. Woohoo they give 2.5 gigs of space now...lol its slowly increasing
  20. I think it is virtual space also because on the main Gmail page it says "2.5 gig and counting" or wutever and you see the number slowly going up.This just seems like me as an advertising stunt in which they will allow a user to have an allocation that large but i seriously doubt they have that space already reserved for you on some random hard driveThe number of gmail users has to be growing exponentially, with the way the invite works, after some thought you can see why they do invites instead of open registrationopen regitration would include so many new users they wouldnt be able to keep up, but through invites the pace is a little more steady
  21. Where did you read that??? That surprises me because from what I've seen Google has always been making stuff free in order to force competitors to do the same ( such as yahoo and hotmail ) Do you know this for a fact or is it your own opinion or just something you "heard" and assumed it was true
  22. The only ones i have used are Kazaa and Limewire.I had kazaa for a really long time and it was ok, i would get viruses through it but my virus detector would stop them as they came in so it was never really a problemwhen i finally found limewire i fell in loveno more high pitched screetch in sound files, good search results, faster downloadsI use limewire right now, even though i really never download anything through p2p networks
  23. I have also always used SmartFTP.Its always worked for me and has been able to do everything I need it to.My favorite feature is where you can do the global download or upload queue, where it can have several "threads" or connections to the server and upload/download multiple files simultaneously.I have used a few other FTP programs..just to try them out but i have always gone back to SmartFTP.its just an exteremely well built program. oo and the autodetect for links in the clipboard is pretty tight
  24. I learned Java first and now I'm trying to learn C++I think this was a HUGE mistake. I got so used to all Java's built in functions, commands, and classes that when I try programming in C++ I get so frustrated because everything is not as straightforward as Java is.I would have definately learned C++ first. Even though its a harder language to start out with and learn, it is better for you in the long run.
  25. I use JCreator and GELThey are both really good. I use JCreator on my computer and I keep GEL on my flash drive since it is portable and doesn't need to be installed.
