Is Vista Good? I gonna use Ultimate OK?
kgd2006 replied to jbitkill's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Vista in terms of UI design pretty innovative but in terms of its compatibility across all programs as an operating system failure. I have noticed and heard of many programs that have trouble running on Vista, and even if it does run it seems to have problems displaying its own UI. This can be a huge problem for if you are a user that somehow end up with various bugged programs that you need for you daily job, but cannot access your programs. If you are interested in Vista, I would most likely wait a couple of years before upgrading, just so that all the programs out there will update its software to be compatible with Vista itself. At the same time if you are looking for a new computer I would also continue to wait on it as there are new technologies that will probably be released soon as well. So in conclusion, wait on Vista, and stay on XP or any other stable operating system for now. -
Crysis Review The Good, the Bad, and the WTF
kgd2006 replied to Herbert1405241469's topic in Computer Gaming
I currently have bought crysis and find it to be a real hardware hog where I can not run it smoothly on medium settings. My current system specs meet the requirements but I believe that may not be even enough to run such a game of the stature. I will probably end up upgrade my system in time, with the best of the best performance and quality parts. I only have played the first 15 minutes of it and I already notice the performance it asks for. The amount of stuff that is going on in the game cause my game to totally stutter for every cinematic that happens. The game is indeed beautiful but it is way too stuttery for me to be able to play. I cant have it on lowest settings cause I cannot stand playing a game that isnt beautiful to the eye. At low settings the textures are really washed and water colory. On medium it has its shadows but textures still lack. On high everything is really nice, but it has texture pop ups from time to time. Not to mention crashes on firefights. For those that are looking to buy crysis make sure that you do your research on what this game needs before aquiring this game. For me personally, I will probably not play this till my system is up to par for its needs. But from the first 15 minutes of the game I have seen its definitely perfect in terms of beauty and gameplay. -
If you are looking for a CMS system I would probably look into joomla, its a open source and I believe also offers a trial so that users can try out what their tool offers web developers. From what I noticed its a very complex tool that takes time to get used to, it features a chunk load of features that will make your brain swell just trying to grasp it all. But once you master it like some of my colleagues have, you can probably produce websites at a very fast rate compared to if you were to build it from scratch. Out of all the content management systems that are available out there I believe that this joomla is offering even the beginner of web developers to develop websites like pros. Joomla also an opensource so that users can even modify their tool to their specific needs if they have the knowledge to do so.

Advice On MP3 Player Needed Must have FM tuner + min. 2 GB capacity
kgd2006 replied to sparx's topic in Hardware Workshop
If you are looking for a good mp3 player I would go with the apple brand, they made everything better each month offer more storage capacity. But if you are looking into other brands other than apple I would suggest that your next brand would be creative. I believe that creative started the mp3 player movement, and apple made that idea better with their design and interface style. But the current two that you have as options in the creative brand should be more than good enough for your needs. But if you are willing to dish out some cash I would suggest getting a IPOD because it offers a very compact and sleek look and feel that you wont be dissatisfied with. I wouldnt have mentioned gettin the apple brand if I didnt think its worth it, mostly everyone that I know uses one, compared to other brands. -
I think what you meant you want to do is ripping an image from a cd on to your hard drive correct? Well that is what I understand from reading your topic post. But if I understood your question correctly their are many programs that you can use to rip a cd on to your hard drive in which you can use as backup of your current CD just in case your CD somehow becomes unreadable. Certain programs that I use is winISO, cloneCD, and even NERO I believe are the best tools to use if you are looking to rip an image from a CD to your hard drive. All the programs I believe needs to be purchased to experience the programs features full functionalities. I also would suggest that you make sure the ripped copies of your CD is a good rip because I ran into issues where the ripped images can become corrupted in certain instances. Also I believe that there are also programs out their that can run the images from your computer, which acts as a drive on its own. I can remember the software name on the top of my head but it allows you to run the image without burning it on to a disc. Hopefully, you will find what I mentioned is useful and good luck with whatever you are doing...

I currently own a crap load of games that are currently to many to be listed but since I am in need of credits I guess I will try my best to list it off the top of my head. I will be getting a XBOX 360 soon so the stock library will definetly increase in due time. My favorite genre of games is probably Fighting and RPG games. Games that takes skill but also brains to beat is a game that I like which challenges me. I have yet to find a game that I was unable to beat with ease. But then again games are being made to be beaten, so that statement carries no real value. heh.

The most comfortable way for me to sit near a computer is with a comfy leather chair with a foot rest. Not only that but I would have a wireless keyboard so that reach and wires being tangled would not be a problem to me. I also usually have a cabinet of food near me just so that i can snack on something when I happen to get hungry during a intense hours of work or just casual browsing. I try to be relaxed as possible when near a computer so that it would not put further strain on my mental energy as well as my health. Staring at the computer for hours is already tremendous stress on the eyes, so being uncomfortable would be something I would not like to have during near the computer. I try my best to also take breaks from time to time but sometimes when you are under heavy project turn around basis its hard to not be stressed out and concentrate on being confortable.

Honestly, my feelings on the macbook arent very suttle. Macbooks are very convenient in terms of a on the go apple, but I prefer a PC labtop. Just for the fact that I am purely a gamer and have a need to install certain game softwares on my labtop so when I am feeling in the mood I would just double click and start playing a game to relieve stress from experiencing a day worth of stress. Most of the games out there are not made for a MAC and so you are basically stranded if you own a mac or macbook in all cases. But that is not the only problem. We have certain softwares that can only be accessed on the PC that couldnt be accessed on the mac. Such software are basically microsofts property. Even tho macs now a days offer the installation of microsoft operating system and software, its performance is greatly drained and withered to nothing. The only real great use from a macbook is that it offers a great tool for graphic designers to play with. But overall there is nothing a mac could do that a PC couldnt do better. It may not be flashy but it gets its job done with effeciency. And more over, I despise apple for hustling everyone on their over rated product that is the iphone. But ill just end my comment there.

Firefox 2 Has A Spell Check! Yea, it really does.
kgd2006 replied to brcmville's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Firefox has many features that can be easily be overlooked. The spell checking feature has been around for quite sometime. After each iteration of the version of browser the feature itself improved. But firefox as a browser surpasses all other browsers in all its forms. Firefox allows web developers like myself to use the browser as a tool more so than a browser to view sites and do daily browsing. It offers many plug-ins and such to help accommodate the web developer in building a efficient website that is error free. One example of the tools that firefox offers that I am talking about is the firebug tool. It gives you the ability to mouse over contents of the website and view its current source location. It also provide you with the ability to edit the site itself on the fly. So you can actually change the contents on the site automatically if you wanted to. So this alone is a great debuging tool that I use most often. If you have not looked into the features that firefox offers its time you spend five or ten minutes to look into it. It offer vast amounts of plug-ins that will make you web developerment cycle shorter and better. -
I have heard of xanga and its use was mainly to be something which myspace is now. Many of the people that I talk to have migrated from xanga to myspace because of the features that myspace offers. Xanga seems to concentrate more on blogs than anything else. Myspace on the other hand can do both blogs and other things that the user wants to deem possible. The uses between the two sites are very similar but one just overtakes the other in the form of features. Myspace is really a space for yourself that you can modify and manipulate at will to your creative desires and generate something that vistors and friends can look at, whether that be information about yourself or if your just advertising yourself like some and most people on myspace do. Xanga has lost its nitch ever since myspace went public and stole all the users that they currently had. Users like myself has found that myspace provides more of a stable home than xanga, not only that but the community and friends and how to search for your old friends is a lot better. So in conclusion if your not already on myspace its about time you migrate, if myspace is not your thing you can try facebook, I heard that that will be the next thing to myspace only better in terms of its development.

I mainly use Adobe Imageready to make my gifs. Because like adobe photoshop it carries all the similar tools that are needed to make a graphic. It also gives you an interface to see the frames and the time it takes for each frame. So basically you can create a movie clip to put in the work and make some really neat out of it. Ive made many gifs and if I could reccommend to you guys the program of choice it would be Imageready. It carries the Adobe brand name that often shows many accomplished and useful tools for web design, it is pretty much a standard now for people to a pick up a program such as adobe to use for the web development work and create things that their vision expresses in their mind.

Those are pretty well built sites. I like many of them its gonna be a hard choice in between that they are made by many talented individuals on this hosting service, heh. So many have different themes of designs and concepts of choice so its gonna be a hard vote between the rest. All with different style of coding and content. If this poll was broken down to more of a content oa category based poll it would be a easier vote and more understandable voting scheme. But I just closed my eyes and made a vote to make it fair hahha...

The best resolution for making your website would probably 800x600 giving respect to those that have not upgraded to a new computer already. But I believe most people now a days have 1024x768 resolution computers so you could always build your site in that resolution. But then you would also negate those that have not yet upgraded and may lose traffic because of that. But my recommendation is probably to go wit h the 1024 x 768 resolution because it provided you to put more depth in your design and content as well. People that have not upgraded their monitors probably wouldnt mind a little scrolling on your site so you should be safe. Just try to not go so high in resolution because a lot of people out there are cheap and probably have not forked over money for a new monitor yet. Good luck and have fun...

Whats the point of using a power-leveling site? I believe its a waste of more money then the game your already paying to play. You play a game to enjoy its aspects of gameplay. Sure its fun to be all mighty and powerful but you have to earn the achievements of power. If you are so in a hurry to be almighty and powerful you should just stick to console games that doesnt require you to pay to play. You can cheat your way to advance levels and get what you are looking for there. The whole main point of mmorpgs is mainly to socialize and meet people that you can interact with and play with. Being all powerful is one aspect of the game that will give you no rewards or honor. Trust me, Ive cheated before not through using a powerleveler, but through hacking means. And once you have achieved all the power in the game world theres really not much left to do but be an *bottom*. After I play the game as it should and supposed to be played I appreciated the factor of gameplay and understood why they set up the game as they did, besides the point in trying to stretch out the lasting of the game and you paying the monthly fees.

Some New Pics I Did please give me some critique.
kgd2006 replied to sxyloverboy's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Photo one expresses a nice feeling of relaxation and shows off the right colors to represent peace and the environments beauty. The two flowers looks very healthy and full of life but at the same time it sets a feeling of lost. When I look at the two flowers I can only think of someone that has passed away, maybe its because of the darkening of the picture indicating it was a cloudy day? But overall, this pictures gives me a sense of relaxation and peacefulness.Photo two is a very nice shot and angled picture. The dark colors sorta makes me think of a day passing by. It somehow expresses a sense of doomsday is coming type of feeling at first glance. With its dark colors it emphasizes that type of apocalyptic feeling real well. What would have made that picture perfect if there was somehow lightening that was dropped in in the background, but you get what you get and it is a very fine picture.Photo three is an interesting piece, at first glance it reminds me of travel overseas. Maybe travel in europe, the picture to me gives off a ancient feeling and expresses an elegant atmosphere of the people dining at that restaurant. The structure of the building and its colors makes the picture looks old which is why I see it as giving off a ancient feeling. Nice shot of the restaurant. -
Halo 3 has been getting more hype then it really needed. The game is not that great of a game it just like many other first person shooters just with a different story. But with microsofts power, it made the game a over hyped monster in which everyone is talking about right now. The game itself is nothing like what the first game was. Halo 2 was fun but not as fun as what it could have been. And Halo 3 which is supposedly be the conclusion to the trilogy of the alien invasion, is just and improved version of halo 2 and added content that was balanced and content that was not added in halo 1 or 2 added to 3. Some of which are the hammer, the atv, and the flame thrower. The game itself is very fun and has improved somewhat but the improvements is nothing to big of what I think should be a over hyped game. I played almost over 80% of the game and the story has lost its interest over me because it seems to be doing more twists that was needed in the game. I honestly believe bungie lost its direction with the halo story and that was the reason due to the main concentration on the improvement for the gameplay. They had to sacrifice the story for the gameplay, which could be for the better or for the worse depending on the player of the game. I for one preferred the story to have a good closing over the already perfect gameplay. But as this games main concentration is multiplay, the gameplay was more of a concern for bungie. I hope once I finish the game I will be able to finish the game with a smile then grin which im having currently...

Wutske mentioned some of the very important aspects in improving your computers operating systems performance which are typing msconfig in the run prompt window and uncheck the start up or background programs from running during start up which will improve the start up speed for your computer. The next improtant thing to do to improve your computer would be to right click your c drive and do a diskcleap and check the stuff that deals with temporary cache and so on. And last but not least and also the most important aspect to improve your computers performance would be to defragment your computer. This will organize the data on your hardrive which is generally scattered on your hardrive during program installations. This defragment will organize the areas into the right sections and improve the paths so that your computer can communicate more effeciently.

Apple has really gone a extra step in screwing over the ipod owners by releasing the ipod touch. First apple reduced the cost of the iphone, now they are releasing the main functionality that is supposedly makes the iphone so popular, in a another system release for half the price of what the phone is. Which i believe is 300 dollars. Apple has pretty much built a good reputation in screwing over its consumers by increasing the memory of their products or improving the systems design every couple of months. Apple has really created a image for itself just as microsoft has, but as push come to shove both of these two computer technological companies are indeed the devils of the tech world.I understand now that there is really no good guy in the tech world, in the apple vs microsoft match. They both are there just to take advantage of their consumers in some way or form. Instead of providing quality products for the consumers that support them each year they milk their consumers of all they have till they are dead dry. But as interesting as it is we have to fall to defeat because we end up purchasing their products because we somehow have a desire and need for it for our daily lives. Its hard to choose who you would support when both these powerhouse companies are just there to create products only to milk you of your money and let you believe that you are getting the best of the best and newest of the tech world.

Im on the computer almost all day and night but I do occasionally take breaks to keep my blood going. My reason for being on the computer all day and night is because I am a computer programmer and well I use a computer and it requires me to sit near one for me to get my job done. But when I get home I continue to improve my skills by doing research which further requires me to use a computer even out of work. I just make sure that I take breaks when necessary and get some excercise in because sitting on your butt all day and night doesnt actually help your heath. So if I ever feel a strain or ache from sitting too long with a computer I would generally get up and move around to stretch my legs and get that blood flowing. Certain occupations just keeps you glued to the computer certain occupations require nothing to do with a computer but that is just how the world turns and unfortunately people like me will be glued to the computer twenty four seven...

I love games which I can analyze and disect things from another persons mind. Games like that in general keeps my brain fresh and feels like im actually using it and forcing it to concentrate and focus. Mind games take a huge toll in life because you always will have to read your partner or the other person that you are communicating with because their is a slight chance that the person you are communicating with isnt telling you want to hear and may also keep something from what you really want to know. By learning the art of mind analysis and ask specific questions to that person you can then get them to slip what they are hiding from you in the first place. Many techniques can be found online in which I looked into awhile back. But the tools in reading a mind and getting it to respond to your is like powers of a psychic or should I say an X-men, xavier...haha, but yea nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it.

Having a PS3 emulater is going to be a challenge for any person right now. Its just too much effort that is going to be needed to crack and dicipher the encryption of how the ps3 runs its games. The PSX emulator that is out there is still having problems but works quite just like the system itself but it took probably 4 or 5 years before that could probably have the main kinks out and it still a little buggy on certain games without the right bios. PS2 emulators are not even out with working games that can handle or read the encoding on discs too well. But I believe there are some already out there that are able to read the ps2 discs but many bugs arises from it. Game system emulators are a very cool software that I find very intersting but if more hackers were to work on the project the game developers would and possible go out of business and we would not have the entertainment of games that are provided for us today. Although I enjoy the emulation the games I also enjoy that everyone should go out and buy the games before playing the emulated version. Supporting games developers is key if you want them to keep making the games that you enjoy so much. We dont want the industry turning out like the music industry where music sales are falling dramatically due to heavy downloads...

I definitely cant wait for this to be released on the 25th. For the many reasons that this game has gotten me hyped up are its conclusion to its epic trilogy as well as the many new features to the game such as the first time ever 4 player multi player. That is probably the most I am looking forward to in the halo serious. To be able to enoy and play the main campaign with a friend instead of having to kill them, haha. Hopefully I will be able to play the only story mode with you guys here as well. This game is a definite must if you have a xbox 360, just playing the beta is not enough we need the real deal and its everlasting games fullness..

You can probably try to make some cool simple games with flash. I made a couple of games with flash and its as simple as it gets. It probably cant do anything intense like PS3 or XBOX games, but it does help you understand the procedure on how a game is made and put together to some aspect. But once you have mastered the program you will have a very nice portfolio in which you can choose to pursue a career in the higher level of game development. But one thing for sure is that you will have to be devoted and committed to it if you want to make anything half as cool as something like the popular games now a days. As years goes by it seems that games are getting more complex to make and very real. So you must start early and learn fast to compete in a market that has possible the best and most complicated games to compete with.

That is the most interesting fact of innovation that I have ever heard. If they start to learn how to levitate, I can probably fulfill my dreams of flying like superman, haha. But that is very interesting, being able to levitate will probably be the coolest science experiment that is done. First thing I would do with the levitation would be to walk on water and check out all the cool fishes upclose and personal, and even tease the sharks hahah.

Windows Vista - Is It Realy Worth It?
kgd2006 replied to Ghost1405241549's topic in Websites and Web Designing
If I were you I would not go out and spend money on the operating system that is not compatible with numerous programs out there. Vista, has many compatibility issues with the old programs for some reason. And I highly reccommend that you stick with a copy of XP until the VISTA operating system fixes all their glitch problems, or our world of programs make patches that are compatible with vista. So far vista is known for causing problems with programs where UIs for that program does not show up. Im am currently using XP. The vista doesnt add anything that gives me the desire to get it, its just trying to copy apples UI and that is all I see from what VISTA offers, and maybe some supposedly more secure operating system.
