  1. Myspace isnt bad, its main concept is to make it what you want to be a place to network and meet new people. My myspace however is a place where I am set up to meet only past friends that I have lost in touch with and my current friends. Anyone that I dont know I usually reject them as friend requests. Many on myspace like to build up their friends list for popularity, or should I say to make it so they think they are popular. But again, its their "space" they do as they wish. Everyone on myspace create a myspace for their very own reasons whether it is bad or good. I for one have been using it for networking with my friends ever since I signed up. Some of the key features that I like with myspace is that if I forgot a friends birthday I could easily log on to check when their birthday is. Or if they are having a party they would always post up a event invite, its very convenient and is a lot better than trying to call a mass of friends on the phone just trying to get in touch with them so they know about an event that will be taking place.People that seems to reject myspace, I believe are either insecure about the number of friends they actually have or just plain dont have a use for it because they are busy with the lives as is and have no time for the internet. And yes, its true that some people are revealing a lot of information about themselves on myspace, and I think its stupid. I personally dont reveal anything about myself on myspace, I just have an account that shows that its me and Im on it so others can contact me when they cant reach me by phone.I have seen a lot of hilarious things that has happened on myspace, and just plain stupid things. But I believe that its a really well made networking place for friends and family.
  2. After browsing that site I realized this one of those websites that lead you to believe that they can help you earn cash easy and fast huh? If thats the case, then I never really believed in those type of businesses, because everything that happens in life involves a catch. Nothing is easy, only good things come out from some hard earned.Anyone with common sense, and learning and hearing for other people's mistakes about these type of businesses will understand that these is just a hoax to make that company money not make you money. Your money is earned by you working hard, and thats a fact.
  3. The only real way for you to get vistors to your site is through finding ways to lure your audience. You have to first know who you want to target though. But if you want viewers to visit your websit my the masses. You could always manage a porn site, haha...But all to put all jokes to the side, like what another member have said you have to have people talking about what you have marketed on your website for more traffic to come through. If you can get a few people talking then you can eventually create a snow ball effect creating a flow of traffic where you run into more vistors for your website. THen you would eventually end up with high traffic and no more bandwidth. ANd most likely you would leave Xisto to find someone that can offer you more bandwidth for the high traffic that you are recieving, where eventually you will end up paying for your hosted high traffic website.
  4. There are so many sites out there like this that I believe that it will get you a lot of criticism, or can benefit you. Because out of the couple trillion people out there that are desperate on new found ways to save money, Im sure someone will come along and buy your book. But its a matter of how you are successful at marketing what you are selling. You need to get it out at a bigger audience. Those that are at Xisto, probably will not buy your book but others around the world might if you can reach them that is.
  5. Wow! That is very nicely done in just 1 hour time. If you could make an animate of that type of art you would probably be taking yourself in a new creative direction. I used to do vector art, but I only specialize in photo releastic imaging now, where I would change and creative turn one image into an entirely new image. But that on the side, what you did is very good, continue at it.
  6. With all that is going on I just dont believe that we have much time left on this Earth. This world is getting over populated by the billions each year, and through those billions of people a certain percentage of that are people that are deystroying our enviroment. Most believe that we can start by making a difference, true but how many of us are there compared to the trillions that tear up our soil? I am one of the people that trys to help but Im starting to lose hope from the things that I have been seeing going on in this world and the waste that is being littered everywhere. We have so much problems going on in this world, all I can say is to just live life while life exists. Doing something to change it is a start, but just make sure that you are going to change the world just because your solely committed to what your are trying to do. Because in the end, you probably cant save this world from its fate. Thats how I view it as now, yes I am probably losing hope, but at least my hope is still their and Im still trying to help out our enviroment, but not as much as I used to before.
  7. I wonder how long before most computers be running with windows vista. I mean XP was just introduced not to long ago I believe like at least 3 years ago? I guess thats a long time. But I'm not ready to migrate to another operating system. But I guess change is good. Ill just wait on it, and give it a couple of years before I move on to the next level of the windows user interface.
  8. The idea of post of the week will definitely add some depth to the system that we already have. I mean I wouldnt mind it, an extra 5 points is good for me if I was to win for that week. I mean mods and admins already are monitoring posts that are going on, Im sure that task to add a bonus system wouldnt hurt. It's just something to keep people posting and keep this forum pumping with better topics so that everyone can have a chance to put their two cents in. Sometimes what I see on this board is topics that I find hard to relate to, so having this forum more active with topics would be on the win-win column.
  9. That's very interresting, someone that would go to such great lengths just to play a "game." MMORPGs have become rather popular now a days. Many people play it like its their life, while others play it casually to relieve stress. Those that play for hours on end with no food and water, like you have just said have certain had a wrong mind set. It is very sad to hear that that individual would go to that level of play just to play World of Warcraft.I am a MMORPG player, but I play casually. Never have I played over 3 hours straight. At 2 hours I am already dizzy from staring at the monitor and focusing on things that are going on in the game. Sometimes I even get bored just playing the game altogether. It is rare for me to be so focused in an MMORPG. The times that I am in tune and totally addicted to the game is when I first started playing it. It was my desire to gain high levels and obtain high level items that make me feed and addicted to the game. But as I realize during mid through the leveling process of my character I realized it serves nothing but self accomplishment that I could possible do overtime and does not needed to be rushed. Games the continuely make you grind out levels are games that no longer interests me, it just a factor to make you keep playing, people however, seem to dont understand that or is a little impatient that they have to achieve such levels.Quests and such are what drives a game, along with its story and depth, a game with just level grinding alone is not a game worth the time, because to me its like seeing how long you can watch and count a water drop from a sink that leaks. MMORPGs are heavily dependent on grinding, its because creators run out of ideas and need a "filler idea" in its place before they release the next batch of updates to keep players interested in the game and continue to pay for the game which they play online with there friends.I am currently playing multiple MMORPGs, which are Guild Wars, Maple Story, and Lineage 2 C4 or C5 I forget. Guild Wars, I have only version 1 which I have beat and no longer have interest in. But I do go on from time to time to see what have changed in the game and to see my friends, because they are continuing to play the game and its expansions that have been recently released.Maple Story was a game I used to play heavily, and this game was a major grind fest. It is a game that consisted of anime like short like characters which you can customize to your liking with different job classes. I was a thief and as I explored the world of maple story I saw cooler looking characters that I sought to be like, so I would grind levels hours on end till I reached that level. I was satisfied. But throughout the whole time and amount of time spent I was really having much fun, I felt more like I was just doing a job then having fun. Yes, my character looked cool, but thats all it gave me. No special rewards for achieving that level at such a quick rate, just self satisfaction.Lineage 2 was a really fun game that I play from time to time. This game is also a level grind game but comes with a great community. I would compare this game to much like World of Warcraft. It both carry the same elements. You can achieve levels just as fast, but it will take time but you can have more fun because like World of Warcraft you can do it in raiding groups. But the sad thing about this game along with the others games I played is that its not worth the time spent.I sometime wondered if I should just sell my accounts off on ebay to profit for the amount of time I spent playing the game and achieving the high level item rewards. But chances are game master from that specific game would check the auctions going on ebay and close my account altogether before I could even sell the account. So I see playing MMORPGs as a lost in life if your are playing it for the sole purpose of level grinding. If you however are playing it for the fact of relieving stress then you have the right mind set.Back to the main topic about the guy dying from not getting enough nutrition after the 50 hour marathon, all I can say is I wish him the best. Because he wasted his life on a game, I hope that he lived his life to the extent that he wanted to live. Because honestly, I dont think playing hours on end till I die is the way I want to leave this world.
  10. Cooool, I have been using firefox ever since IE turned to poop when they started having "click here to activate" on all the flash objects. I've been happy with Firefox's browser and its features. It has a very neat and clean interface to check out html code that is used for a website. I find that very beneficial for me as a web developer.
  11. Hmm...seems like microsoft really trying hard to compete dreamweaver? I still prefer dreamweaver over all other programs being released. Maybe Im biased, maybe my reasoning will change when there is a web development can offer me more than what dreamweaver offers me already. =)
  12. I believe that gaming has and cant affect your behavior. For example, if there was a group of children in one room playing tetris, and another group of kids playing street fighter games for maybe a good duration of the time. The 2nd group would most likely show some sort of violent behavior. It just something that is engraved into their minds during the duration of play that brings out what games represent. I am most certain that if there was a 15 minute recess and we were to group the 2 groups back together, the 2nd group would show a sense of violence while the first group would just figure out why they are acting like they are.Games today are rather very violent, and it has been seen how extreme the game goes to show its realism and representation of society. I for one am one of the people that would randomly just play fight, because most of the time I grew up I preferred fighting games and action games then those of puzzle games. But I have learned the limit to where I can go with my game mocking personaltiy. Kids these days dont know and just go and react events that they saw in a game, thinking that it wouldnt hurt or be harmless to them. That is why games are not rated and strict on minors not being able to own a Mature rated game. Time will tell when violent games will probably be banned from the market. If it goes, I dont know where I would actually go for entertainment.
  13. Ohhh, so you are using a free compiler? When I learned GLUT my college professor had us download and copy certain file libraries into VISUAL STUDIO C++ .NET compiler. So those that already have .net should look into trying to find those files that are needed so they can run the experience of GLUT programming. And if it helps your tutorial I think I remember the pieces that the professor made me download was from "microsofts" website itself, not sure what the libiary files are though, its been quite a while since I last programmed in GLUT.
  14. Your template uses a nice combination of colors, and your layout is simple, which is good. Because layouts that are too complex and squished may lead the user away from your site from the frustration of where to find certain specific information that they are visiting your website for. Although I would try to improve your layout just a tad bit more, because I know when I make templates I would end up change it up little by little each time during the implementation phase. Just for the convenience for users that are viewing your site.
  15. Changing the ever so infamous BSOD? to RSOD? haha, this is rather amusing. I think it is pointless what is the point just to alarm users of windows that they messed up their computer to a point beyond repair? Red or Blue it really doesnt matter, they should concentrate on figuring out how windows can fix itself from the error that is caused by the user than to alarm and scare the user with a RED screen that they really messed up their computer.Im pretty sure that RSOD will be putting rookie or not so computer friendly people into shock and stress when they see that screen. RED is a rather intense color and it is a general color for danger...haha, boy does window makers know how to scare their users away instead of calming them with a nice screen that shows them how to fix the problem that they have caused.
  16. Wow, thats interesting to hear. I never used a hands free cell but Ive seen my mom use her handfree asscessory that clips to her ear. Everytime she is on it when Im around makes me think she is talking to me, but it turns out that she never was. I have been in many situations where I keep on thinking that people are talking to me but they were just talking on the phone, embarssing myself for replying to them and them giving me a hand motion and a grin that they are not talking to me and note that they were actually talking on the phone. Now with the new or upcoming release of a handsfree cell altogether will further the confusion if people are talking to someone. Its good and a nice convenient innovation but Im pretty sure a lot of confusion will arise. Not that its a bad thing just funny and makes you laugh.Technology is seemingly taking a turn for the better, no more dropped phones and extra weight in the pocket. Maybe we will see everyone with phones clipped to their ear in the future, and maybe various models will be designed for a fashion sense eventually. Im excited to see the release of the new handsfree phone, guess this will mean that phones such as minis, flip phones, weightless phones, will be a thing of the past and the clip ear phones will be thing of the future. Very Interesting indeed.
  17. If your interested in simplier game making, I could suggest you to look into "MUGEN" I hear and seen some cool looking fighting games come out from that. For example, Ive seen a game that combined elements and objects from Street Fighter, Dragon Ball Z, Samurai Showdown, Naruto, and basically anything that had sprites and made it into a fighting game. Generating and implementing their own combos in the the game as well as coming up with their own super moves.I wish I got into game making, I would have further pursued to learn how to mess with MUGEN, if you like to find info or see what I am talking about you can always search for MUGEN on google or on youtube to see the many games that people have made and released for the public to download their own game making. Talented individuals have developed fighting games that I have sampled to be almost better then certain 2d fighting games I have ever played.
  18. Interesting topic, I remember pieces of these codes from a class that I have taken in college. It certainly bring back memories. But those that are going to try to program this must need to setup they compiler to have certain key libraries to have it actually run and execute. Poping in the code will not give you the results you want automatically I believe. You will need to make certain modifications and addtions to your compiler before you can see your program run.
  19. With the publicity that PS3 has recieved recently I hope it lives up to its hype. But I certainly will wait a year or two before I get my hands on the PS3, because I learned from experience that the first shipments of PS3s are always the buggy ones. I dont understand why some people would be so eager to whip out 3,000 dollars for a PS3 on eBay. I mean there are like units being sent weekly. Offers that are going on eBay right now are just ridicalous. Either people are impatient or they just have a lot of cash laying around, because if you think about it doesnt it take at least a week or something for the winner of a bid to recieve their product due to certain shipping methods and payment confirmation? Now by that time the next shipments of PS3s would have been in, and easily those that reserve it at the store of their choice would have recieved it at market price and not at a over-priced rate like on eBay. I just wonder sometimes why people would bring themselves to the level that they need to purchase it at that price. Not only is the system that they are buying on eBay over-priced but it is also buggy. From reading some of the reviews of the system I am already hearing certain bugs from the first shipment. It is just like this every year, console developers always try to push the system out at the date without making sure that the system is completely 100 percent bug free, its only until 1 year in or 2 years in before they address the bugs and redesign the system with better hardware like the recent PS2s.For example, PS2s were also attacted alot of publicity durings its launch, then bugs such as lens had problem reading after the 1st or 2nd year of owning ths system, so that problem was addressed by sony and they realeased a 2nd shipment of new hardware models of the PS2s. And as of now they have released a even newer model called the PS2 Slim, which is newer hardware that is smaller. So in conclusion if people have more patience with items such as these then they would actually be buying a better system that is worth their money. Time would also alow price of launch system prices to fall into market economies price range. I for one will be waiting for my PS3s when I hear the "OK" that the system is bug free and safe to buy. Because 600 dollars is a rather steep price for a game console.
  20. I believe that firefox is better because it seems to me that IE has always been a step behind in the innovation of browsers. Even though they just released their new innovations for tabbed browsing as well as the user interface upgrades, firefox has already pass that point and trying to optimize their browser for better performance. With the bugs that I have experienced with IE I completely almost abandoned the browser all together, I even set firefox as my default for web browsing while keeping IE around for situations which I need it such as web development and understanding browser compatiblity not to mention certain html codes does not work in firefox. But definitely, I believe that firefox will eventually dominate IE if it hasnt already.
  21. Thanks for the tip micro, Im a firefox and IE7 user and I sometimes use the password manager now I am considering not to use it completely because of this post. Dont want to run the risk of having people making my life harder than it already is. thanks again for the helpful hint...
  22. I believe that the PS3 will probably be the one to take 1st place over the next gen consoles that will be coming out. PS3 has so much features that the competition cant come to compete with on its factory release. Although PS3 will be making the budget a little high for consumers I believe it will take the gaming market because of its vast library of games that will feed gamers interests. From the many ariticles that I have read PS3 already stole some of the titles that were supposed to be on the X360 and even the Wii.It is only a matter of time when PS3 takes over like it did with the PS2. Although the XBOX 360 had a year head start its game library has yet to take interest to the gamer market. PS3 however is opening its launch with some key titles that will be around the corner, such as Devils may cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and the infamous serious that has been going on for decades Final Fantasy XIII.I personally will be waiting to see how each of the systems do in terms of sales and its assortment of gaming library. But I will at the same time wait for the price of the next gen consoles to go down before I make my purchase. I believe its better to wait it out a couple of years anyway because the first model launches always end up with the bugs and problems. Its because of the markets greed that the system launches so buggy, I would have rather they make the system fully intact and glitch free. But to further my point on the competition of the next gen consoles, XBOX 360 may lack some features that PS3 has, but it looks like they will be releasing external products to worth with the next gen console itself to contintue to compete with the PS3. This is indeed a clever marketing strategy because not only are they getting a head start in sales but they are making more money off the acessories that will be coming out for the system. Leaving PS3 consumers thinking if they should buy a 600 dollar system or not.Time will tell the fate of the next gen systems, I will wait and see...
  23. I favor dreamweaver, because it gives me the ability to see what I am designing. It has more than one mode of operation and can be used at various levels. For example, a user that does not know much of coding can actually use its design interface and just draw and layout tables as they see fit. But you can totally use the program at an advanced stage where you can just code the whole thing as is. And with that, while your coding you can actually see what design you have made through the code you have wrote on the fly.Unlike the old method of doing it in notepad and saving it as a html file and then checking it if it looks right, Dreamweaver helps designers design from more than one perspective and at a convenience level that benifits the designer in many ways. There is a lot of ways and features that dreamweaver offers and it is certaintly the best WYSIWYG editors that I have experienced thus far. You are capable of learning HTML as you are designing. A program worth the money, not like the others that I have tried.
  24. Hacking has been taking a lot of forms lately from what I noticed, the most widely spread form is hackers that use programs built by a hacker to hack websites. These programs as I have researched is a program that can members only websites. These hackers no little or nothing about the deep backend of hacking just the noob friendly side which they use a program to hack.I believe in a way that the real hackers are releasing these programs to keep hidden from the dangers of hacking by letting the noobs get caught. The more I look into it the more interesting it gets, and I start to wonder about the viruses that are being released by hackers. I sometimes wonder about if Norton have underground hackers on purpose to release viruses and Norton would just stop one version of it when it can possibly stop all future versions of it. We all pay norton for the virus updates, and possibly norton just make sure that we are somewhat exposed so that one people that remains paying for the virus updates will still be protected while the others will catch the virus unless they update.Thats just me thinking out the box when I start to think about hackers and viruses. It sure stirs things up.
  25. I pronounce that as Charr, but I believe before I heard the actual pronounciation from my professors back in college, I was honestly pronouncing it as "Care." Because I always thought that it was a cut off of "Character" haha, but yeah, it wasnt until my teacher pronounced it that I started to pronounce the word as CHARR...odd everytime I say it though...
