Ok, i really am not the system tweaking guy, i format and i reinstall, maybe when time is at my disposal i would try out stunts But i prefer Norton to any other antivirus. Now thats because i have been using norton for around 3 years and apart from lag in startup i havent had ANY problems till now. Norton 2004 was a pain because of its requirements and system memory. But 2005 is kinda light on my system, Yes it does start up a little late but not as late as norton 2004.I tried the demo of 2006, and hell i am sticking with 2005, though 2006 has various tempting options, i noticed a longer lag in startup time, maybe its just me .. but as long as i have been around norton, even tho it eats up system memory , it still gives you complete protection in return.I dont normally use firewalls, it kind of annoys me lol, but i like the internet worm detection feature. I do get pop ups .. around 5-6 at a time but thats like once in two months. Apart from that, i dont think i have any cons in norton that makes me want to give it up.RegardsDhanesh.

lol, annoying system admins, they block every thing they get their hands on .. sheesh. I know my school admin whoz block all sites related to Messenger .. ALL sites related to music. Maybe you tried at the wrong time m8. Sometimes servers are restarted and you get a Page not found error for a few mins and then it goes back to normal. You mite want to try it again and post in if you have problems. And as m^e said, IE is fine but i would suggest you use firefox :)RegardsDhanesh.

You could insted use a java chat script, like Pjirc ? Its free and can be customized as you want it. It fits into any website and is pretty easy to use.RegardsDhanesh.

FINALLY .. lol , my recent problem with the CMS i was using was exactly the same, only 2MB upload by default. I guess my question was answered then to change the PHP files, but the main settings lie in php.ini .. If the mods could consider requests of some users, then i would be really glad.2MB is kinda less for a webupload now, atleast max 10 or 15 MB would be helpful if it doesnt harm the rest of the users.RegardsDhanesh.

Welcome to Xisto md3likan, You need to post in the forums here at asta to gain credits, the number of credits increase with the number of posts you make. Your posts should be eligible for a credit count, if found not eligible, then a Moderator or an Admin can either Ban you for Spamming, or they could delete your post which would result in decrease in the credits. Better the posts better the credits increment. You can see how many credits you have, right below the shout box like this : HOSTING CREDITS : xx.xx DAYS. The number of credits is the number of days you can stay inactive ( without posting ). eg. 30 DAYS. would mean you have 30 credits and you can stay inactive for a month. If you reach the required credits of 10,then you could apply for package 1, OR you could wait till you get 30 credits and apply for package 2 directly (your choice completely). After your hosting has been accepted, you will be sent a mail to your VALID e-mail that you provide. REMEMBER, your credits will be deducted to 3 or 4 after you are hosted, so you need to keep posting in order to keep your hosting alive. If you are using SMF then I assume you have tried PHPbb too ? I personally like PHPbb, but havent tried out SMF, tough many people out there prefer SMF. But incase you want a CMS with a inbuilt forum, then i'd suggest you e107. No , m not promoting lol .. just liked the CMS cause of its fast support and nice features. Hmm , I wouldent guide you through things i dont know, but would suggest you change your password or reset it and change again. Maybe this would help if any unadded info stacks up on the server.Or not then the best solution of all is to contact the support through your cPanel itself and followup on them. Things like this are very rare on Asta, so relax and things would get fine soon as you report them :)RegardsDhanesh.

I use M$ office, the Olllld copy, maybe the one released in 1999 ... but it still works fine for me .. the only problem i get is when i give a copy of the .doc file from my mac to sumone on a PC with M$ office 2003. The same happens when i try to do it at home. But if i save it in a Word 97 etc format it opens in my PC and i can save it again as a 2003 file. Weird, but maybe it the old version bug or sumthing. I havent found any problems with Office yet, but its an old version thats all.Havent tried anyother Office suite, and would love to try it. But then i guess Office has a catch on these suits, and non would prefer an alternate solution.RegardsDhanesh.

Ahh .. i WISHED ! .. lol .. no really, i mean i dont have a problem getting a domain, but then its a pinch that adds up always. I still go to college, and my dad n mum earn, so its like a burn up every time i ask for money. Yeah yeah .. call me a baby, but when your 22 and in college , without a job, man it pinches more than anything at this stage. And like any Indian parents, therz always the "Do your college first, get a degree and then do what you want" yessh .. cant take it , but have to live with it.Maybe in a years time when i get a job i would first go for a domain. Most of you would have been to the recently opened site by Microsoft : Windows Live Custom Domains Beta. Things that they give you : 1. 20 e-mail accounts in your domain 2. Each account having a 250MB space 3. Junk mail filter protection 4. Virus Scanning. 5. Access it with Messenger, MSN Spaces etc. Now my problem. I entered my domain of Xisto : XXXXX.astahost.com. I get the following error : The domain name entered is not available for use with this service.. I type in : Xisto.com , and it works. What would i need inorder to work my domain on this ? Thankx soleimanian, I always wondered how and where to start PHP, but never got a chance. I know a little bit, maybe lets say 5% of php because of editing files and stuff. But programming in PHP is something i would love to learn for the long run.
