So point blank is that anything having a " . " before the file name is a important file and SHOULD NOT be deleted ? ... But then again .. i have .Fantasticodata .. I know i havent installed fantastico ever .. only that i just clicked the link and browsed through it a bit and there it created a ".fantasticodata" file .. i could delete that could i ? .trash would contain all the files that i delete ? or rather its like recycle bin in windows that delets everything but if ever needed .. we could ask support to recover it ? .. etc is extras .. now iwouldent need this folder .. so its safe to delete it right ? I donot or havent configured any mail ... just been there and tried out the features .. this might have again created files regarding to mail .. so i could delete .. mail, .contactemail, .contactsavetime ? Last the "tmp" folder .. you said this was the temporary folder .. so i assume this could be deleted too ? This actually is a good valid point infact .. PS3 having a backward compatibility or not .. what if the guys at PS decide not to make it play PS2 games on a PS3 due to graphics or hardware limitations ? Ofcourse hacks are available and will be available then too, but as a Console giant as PS i'd rather put a function that accepts DVD (PS2 games) and also support for Blue-Ray disks .. Who knows, maybe in 2 years we might be playing flight simulator as a 3d virtual game in our rooms, and to hold that content .. This was asked many times and again i am asking the same .. but with a little difference .. could someone please explain how the creation of folders and file work in the hosted root (not www or public_HTML but before that in " \ ") suppose i open Fantastico and close decide not to install anything .. a folder called .fantastico or sumthing comes up in " \ " why ? or rather is there any importance of this file if i dont install anything from fantastico or incase i do install an add-on .. would deleting the folder .fantastico cause any harm to that addon ? I have the following file structure in " \" Do the " . " dot in a file name suggest that it is important ? or are they just temp files ? what all can i delete from here that wont be any use to me (as in the default way when we first get our hosting). Could you also please explain the necessary thing i'd need to know while deleting a folder etc .. just for my knowledge .. kinda inquisitive .. Regards Dhanesh .

I just d'loaded the pack (ofcourse with a few things i needed) , it nice that google came out with something like this .. but suprisingly its got Norton antivirus 2005 , how come ? You could use Virtual PC .. but umm i dont know if you could play PC games as smooth as in PC .. I guess most of the games that come out now have a MAC version to it. Like Warcraft, Doom, NFS etc ...RegardsDhanesh.

I Have used CMS like PHPNuke, Mambo, MKPortal, e107. Out of all these .. i liked e107 .. fact being that: - It was Small in installation - It had a PHPbb2 Forum with it. - It Had a Upload function & and Download DB. All this lacked was a Gallery, and Coppermine did the trick. The above features are built in and not MODs except the Gallery. What I was looking for is a CMS smilar to the Features above, with better user base and fast help forums. All in all i would need: Small installation, PhpBB2 integrated with the attachment MOD, Upload function and a Download Function, and a Gallery .. all this in One Install .. Max 1 could be installed as a MOD but i really need somthing like this. Any Ideas anyone .. just to let you guys know also .. i tried PHPnuke and i wasent comfortable with the Admin layout .. the reason being that i would share the Admin area with a few folks who know NOTHING about Computers but have basic knowledge to click and browse .. so any problem when i cant access i can tell them to do the changes for me .. there for i need a simpler User interfact like e107. I dont live in India .. but being a mumbaite .. i know people go for Benq or Sony .. mostly CyberShot .. A Sony can be a money sucker .. but if you just want to start off with 3MP or 4MP shots .. then i would suggest Benq .. cheap and the best .. RegardsDhanesh.

Are you shure these dates are legimate ? Because if i am not wrong in june 2005 i had remembered going through a site saying M$ would stop support for Win98 on Dec 2005 .. Rather if your dates are correct then i still dont get y they should keep a change of dates between Win XP Home & Pro at longer differences. If Win 98 could be kept till 2006 then looking at XP Home .. support should be kept till 2010 approx. Either ways windows isnt doing a great job in OS. In 5 years they could come out with xp (vista yet to come) , and OS like Apple brought out OS 9, OS X, OS 10.4 etc .. not to leave Linux behind .. Linux has version updates of OS like every 6 mths regardless of the distro .. The day wont be late when you see people using MAC OS and Linux OS at home rather than Windows .. Regards Dhanesh.

Errm .. Well i somehow feel happy about changing my nick When i started this topic, i do agree i was kinda hesitant to reply to some threads that i "thought" i knew. But time and place changes a person rite ? I respect everyones comments on this, and mainly jipman's .. It was my mistake then, not to read the topic well, infact i clicked the topic from "recently updated" below the board index. I just didnt check the section to which it was added. Now, i check the section and topic, read things twice before i post. But still errors are possible, No ones god here. I have to admit to the fact that after i joined asta, a guy like me could be reformed. How ?? Well i bet atleast 1 has been in this state once and i am no different. I used to be a "net freek" so called by my firends. Internet was my daily life support, tho i wouldent have anything to do on the net, i'd probably sit and right-click and refresh, which now has become a habbit. My language was some what like this "hey ppl,wazzap .. howz it goin n howz u" .. Then was "den" .. And was "n" .. etc .. u get the point, and hell i almost flunked in english because i used the same lingo while writing . To make it short, I have loved being on asta and will always do. Not like i am perfect even now, I still type in the net lingo at times, I still post things having the wrong info and later on another post corrects me .. but being on asta gives you some sort of teaching. Knowledge is vast .. but thats not the only thing that keeps this place growing, its the peple that matter. And i guess i have met more nicer friends on asta lol .. So, i just hope that every newbie is treated the same and expained things in a way not so rude .. so that everyone gets a chance to learn something good Regards Dhanesh.
