  1. Ouch! That's the old problem, named downwards compatibility. Serious software makers keep the new operating system, or the middle-ware program, strictly compatible with the old programs. This means that each old piece of program has to continue working with the new operating system. Of course, the new software has new features the old programs did not know about, so the old programs will not take full benefit of the new things, but they have to continue working exactly as previously. Else, from quality point of view, if old code do not work with the new systems, this is a quality regression, and this issue has to be fixed. Of course, in our modern word, nobody cares about quality, end-user satisfaction, we will have to continue accepting these unacceptable features.
  2. Hello. Did you find a solution, or is the problem still pending?
  3. Hello Everybody! Just wanted to say : Happy new year 2020 to everybody!
  4. Of course, as usual. However, don't forget to perform a full system backup before upgrading. And, as usual, if possible, check that your download can be restored... My last one said "sorry, we are unable to restore this download".
  5. Same problem with the textinput application. I probably don't need this running on my desktop computer, it's supposed to be used on windows telephones!
  6. By the way, this version fixed the problem I had with the previous one : no more keyboard inactive needing to reactivate ctfmon And, of course, this version is significantly slower, due to all the new features I don't want and I will have to find how to stop, like the sim card survey for the embedded cell-phone I don't have in my computer.
  7. Thanks for sharing this! Of course, I even didn't notice on my own computer that this update was an optional one! And, by the way, before updating, as usual... Do not forget to create a system backup! Just in case!
  8. And of course, I will buy a paper calendar too, just in case ?️
  9. I remember when I tried with the pedal-mouse (keep your hands on the keyboard while moving the mouse with your foot and click where you need). Our patent expert couldn't stop laughing and we forgot about that. And now, this device is used in a lot of supermarkets, somebody else created it (sigh)!
  10. I guess it's related to some non-qwerty keyboards, and when I googled a little bit I found people who tried the recommended solutions which lead to a system unable to boot.... So I continue simply with my "wait and see" attitude.
  11. Concerning the fact being optimistic, I just had the same problem on another Windows computer, the ctf engine seems to die during boot. Not important, of course, needed only when default Microsoft things (like Microsoft edge beeing started by an app, or if I need the search bar, or inside the HP support Assistant tool).
  12. So, what news? Did you receive your raspberry pi ? Were you successful running the cron jobs in order to book your gym classes ?
  13. Of course, depends from the memory size and from the cpu power needed by these programs. Nevertheless, I agree, as far as it's a linux system it's able to do quite a lot of things. I feel more skeptic when the Rapsberry Pi is used with Windows 10. And of course, I really would love knowing how people use this device, and how satisfied they feel.
  14. Please tell us a little bit more when you will have received it. Maybe could you post a tutorial explaining how to do this ?
  15. That's the scope. Post-to-host gives host for posts. By the way, why do you need a database? If you can't write any article interesting somebody, the website you would create would also interest nobody?
  16. OK. So, if you want a database (I mean you want hosting including a database) you will have to work in order to obtain it. You will have to post interesting topis here, or help people by means of posting interesting answers to their questions. The philosophy of our forum is helping each others. If interesting topics are seen here, this will help us helping others, and we will help you by means of offering free services on our servers.
  17. Correct. And you can receive even more than that!
  18. I would ike to know which Excel file in a given folder contains the word "Alligator". Or course, the same problem occurs if I am looking for another word, "bird" or "hammer", and want to know in which .docx file it is. Of course, I could open each Excel file or each Microsoft Word file and look whether this word is present or not. However, I have a lot of such files, and I would really know in which file I was talking about alligators. And unfortunately, wingrep does not grep inside binary files. Does somebody have an idea? Regards Yordan
  19. I also had a kind of strange feature, Windows Update saying "download pending" during several days, then "installation pending", now the update was successful, so I don't care.
  20. Ouch! Photobucket now put a logo on each hosted picture! Shall we look for another photo sharing provider ?
  21. Does this feature also exist with the Microsoft Edge browser ?
